The location of the property is awesome. It's on the river and right down the street from the hatchery which is a popular drop in spot for fishing on the Elk River. Kitchen was fully stocked with any cooking tools and utensils you need. Great place to stay.

We were a group of 11 plus 3 dogs and it met our needs well. Plenty of blankets and towels. The river was beautiful and very relaxing. Beach is less that a 15 min drive away.

We had a great time at this property. The house was clean and very well stocked with everything you could need. The owner, Rita and her husband were delightful and very helpful. Unfortunately, we were evacuated a day early due to the Anvil Fire. We hope the house makes it because we love to return at another time.

My husband and dog and i had a great time.
I especially enjoyed sitting out on the deck early in the mornings overlooking the river
Watching the wildlife.we got to play tons of fetch with our dog in the river. We also enjoyed floating in the river with a inner tube and inflatable matt provided by the nice owner

Lovely place on the river to visit, swim, fish, and enjoy watching the otters play. We visited the fish hatchery just up the road and enjoyed nature. Nice place to unwind.

Mom grew up in Port Orford so our huge family gathered at Battle Rock to memorialize her. The Elk river in the backyard was delightful.

This place is paradise. Elk River is clear and beautiful. The house side of the river has has a sandy eddy for children to safely play in while the other side is deep for swimmers.
We loved the quiet along with no light pollution. We saw a meteor shower.
The kids were fascinated by the fish hatchery just a short walk away. It was fun watching occasional cars pass over the river on a swinging bridge. The 2 engineers in our group had quite a conversation over its construction.
We ate all meals on the large deck. The home is roomy, clean and well stocked.

We stayed here with 7 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of room and seating for all. Well stocked house. We had some one with car trouble and the host was very helpful. She was able to contact the caretaker and he helped us. Had a great time in the river and there were plenty of beds.

What a great place! We met family from washington (we're from california) and this was a great mid-way point for us.
The house, as my wife put it, has the feel of a family cabin. We had 7 kids and 4 adults together, and everyone was very comfortable. There are games, puzzles and movies for those rainy days and late nights when you are in house. The river behind has a small area for kids to play safely unless it is post storm, and the only argument was whether they were finding newts or salamanders. I think they were geckos... Whatever. The river is so beautiful and the shallow shelf can easily be navigated by kids safely with supervision.
Its a great place for large groups. Its far enough away to feel secluded, but only 15 min from agate beach, the lighthouse, and other points of interest. Its a 5 min walk to the fish hatchery, and they let the kids feed the fish. There are so many trails and streams to explore, this is a cant miss location. We are already planning a future visit to the area and would stay here again.
The Host was great. Checked in once to make sure we had everything we needed. And this place has everything you need for a great stay. Thank you!

The Elk River property was a wonderful spot for a small family and friend get-together. The accommodations are attractive and comfortable, and the back porch overlooking the river is a real delight. Birders and nature lovers of all kinds will enjoy the setting!

House was nice, could have been a little cleaner. View was beautiful! The river was delightful. Granddaughter played hours in the river with the salamanders. Very quiet and peaceful.

This house is designed for larger groups but the two of us enjoyed tranquillity by the river and the spacious decks.

ALL linens needs washed between visitors, great place other then that.
Had a great time and enjoyed our stay. A couple minor complaints were lots of excess dog hair on the futon that needed cleaned up, DVD's played in black-and-white for some reason And there were no curtains across the sliding door or dining room window which is very unsettling at night. We do have 1 major complaint , when checking out we noticed that only sheets and towels needed to be stripped to be washed between visitors, not blankets throws or pillow cases, when I reached out to the property owner shesimply avoided the question. With covid 19 circulating and everybody wanting to get out and about I think it is highly important that those blankets , throws, and pillow cases are all washed between visitors, had I known this was the case I would have brought my own bedding. Possibly more reviews on this specific issue might help them realize how important it is to have ALL linens washed between visitors. Overall had a great time.

My friends and I originally wanted to go camping in the area, but the rain storm made us change plans. We went to this house.
The home was exactly what we needed, several beds, nice kitchen, big table! We ate, cooked, and went hiking around in the area. Beautiful area!

We spent 3 nights at this property while traveling with my brother-in-law and his family, who were vising from abroad. In all, we had 4 adults and 4 kids, aged 9-12, in our party. Check in was easy, communication with owner was fantastic, and the house was very clean and just as advertised. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of towels and linens, and the beds and other furniture was very comfortable. We most enjoyed the deck overlooking the river, and the fact that the home feels very remote, though it's plenty close to stores and places to explore. Excellent stay!

The location right on the river was beautiful. The view from the deck was wonderful. The house itself could have used some work. The back deck and outside of the house needs to be pressure washed. The upstairs had a smell to it that drove our allergies crazy. Downstairs was fine, dated, but fine. Finding long hairs in our sheets was not pleasant but we just slept on top of them. My son also found a book on porn addiction in the downstairs living room, that was strange. I don’t think we’ll come back but we did really enjoyed being on the river and overall had a good time utilizing the outside.

This was all a new process for me since I had never used VRBO before. It was an amazing experience. The house and surroundings were gorgeous. It was more tucked into town than I had expected but well worth it. Excellent way to enjoy all of nature’s beauty without having to rough it. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home.

Love the location! Right on the river with easy access. Was beautiful! Water was nice! Overall amenities were great. The house is very spacious and well kept. Only issue with wifi connectivity being spotty - especially with watching TV. Bring DVD's or downloaded items and connect to TV if needed at night.

This was the perfect spot for our family. Room and beds for all, a good kitchen, and a great deck overlooking the river. Our grandsons are avid fishermen and they spent every free minute fishing. It was a great venue for exploring the South Coast but when we came back to the house we were on our own- a great combination. The owner communicated well and was quick to respond to questions.

This would be a retreat if the owners didn’t live RIGHT across the street and didn’t pop by unexpectedly. Not to mention they came right at check out and we were just about to leave. It felt like a total invasion of privacy, uncomfortable and honestly irritating. I would not stay here again simply because of it.
Besides that the home itself is older (some things are a little rickety) but beautifully decorated and laid out. The master has a full bathroom, but it is the only bathroom on the first floor, so guests have to use it or go upstairs. Also the master bedroom does not have a functional door, just a curtain. There is plenty of beds upstairs for large families and kids. Creek access is a little difficult, but we were able to manage the kids up and down it. The creek itself is clear and perfect depth for kids and has a deeper hole on the other side for adults. The area is pretty remote, but the WiFi and internet worked well. The tv and DVD player in the master room did not work however. Overall, happy with our stay.
