Hotel with character. Some small things might not be perfectly comfortable, but it is a very enjoyable experience.
Personel is absolutely great. I remember Rose (breakfast manager) but also other staff are very very kind.
This is not a standard hotel you easily forget. It has a lot of charm.
Wifi drops, but you can get other wifi through reception
Some small ventilation noise from other hotel. The windows could be better isolated maybe.
But, all in all, we certainly recommend it

As a fan of history and architecture, this hotel was a delight to stay at!
All wonderful!

Location on the sea front
And close to the town centre
Parking outside hotel convenient but don’t know how accessible in the summer season it could be a problem not many parking slots
Nothing to report everything was fine

Great location, very close to shops and restaurants. And just a short walk to the town centre.
Stayed in a lovely seaview room. And the hotel is only steps from the beach.
Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff.
Kitchen was short staffed at breakfast time, so delays in receiving breakfast in room, when requested as part of the room service. Ended up collecting it myself.
But kitchen staff apologised for the inconvenience. And did not charge the £5 fee (per day) it otherwise would have cost.

Lovely friendly classic British seaside hotel, staff were very helpful. We had a large pleasant room overlooking the sea which was very comfortable. We dine both evenings I. The hotel and the food was excellency and reasonably price. Breakfast delicious
Nothing, it was as we expected

The room had very nice decor ( lovely curtains and painting on the wall). Good modern bathroom with mixer taps on the basin and shelves for wash bags etc. Comfortable beds and pillows. Very nice looking furniture ( wardrobe chest of drawers and bedside table)
The room was compact but had everything needed and was nice. Helpful staff. Lovely general areas in the hotel.
Needed good reading lights and a shower one could adjust temperature wise. The shower was in the bath and came from the bath taps. It was impossible to get a reasonable temperature. If you turned up the hot it was boiling. Turn up the cold it was very cold. As a result one could not have a shower.

A lovely welcoming hotel. Great large family room. Good sized bar with lots of lounge rooms. Superb breakfast and very friendly staff!
The welcoming lady at breakfast was a little abrupt with our large group. Made us feel a touch uncomfortable. But all the other staff were super friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us.

Breakfast was poor (cold, took ages, hot buffet half empty).

We were welcomed in the hotel at the reception with a warm smile. All the hotel staff were very pleasant and nice. We really enjoyed our stay there. The breakfast had many options to select from and we tried almost each of the menu items in our 5 days of stay there.
Also, the hotel location was superb and we used to sit on our chairs in our room and had a view of the sea waves from our room itself which was a fantastic experience.
We will definitely want to come back to Eastbourne and stay in Lansdowne.
Please say our thanks and regards to all the hotel staff, special thanks to Lily, Rose, Toms and Dora.
Thanks,
Mrs Bobby and Raj
Well, this is not something which I would complain about as it is not under the control of the hotel staff. Due to covid, housekeeping was not done at the moment, however, I would like to suggest to keep one toilet cleaner brush in the room so that we can clean the commode ourselves.
Other than this, we are very happy with the phone service. I asked for towels, shampoos, milk pouches so many time and each time, the staff delivered to our room with a warm smile on their face.

The Landsdowne is a lovely hotel. Our departure was held up by Storm Ciaran, so we checked out, left our luggage at reception, and waited it out in comfort in one of the many lounges. As is made clear from the description, the Landsdowne isn't immediately on the sea front (there's a small green just in front of the hotel), so we couldn't see the sea, but we were warm and comfortable, with friendly helpful staff to bring us tea and brunch.
Our room, a twin at the back, overlooked a small utility space with a noisy ventilation outlet. However, the double glazing was good, so no problem once the window was shut.

We booked on the day for our impulsive trip. We were looking for a pet-friendly hotel/b&b and found this hotel. It was good overall comparing to the price. They charged for a dog which wasn’t too bad. They provided dog’s complementary box(a ball and treat) and that was lovely.
The room we received wasn’t the same room from the website. pictures on the website was the different room for sure, so when I saw the room, I was a bit disappointed. The room that I saw on the website was a lot modern. Another one was mattress was so old that it had no support for my back.

Convenient for the seafront, our room (standard double at rear on 2nd floor) was comfortable and the bathroom was brand new with a nice big shower - just what we needed.
Perhaps reasonable for Eastbourne, I thought it fairly dear.

Lovely English seaside hotel, family run, really nicely decorated and furnished, friendly staff and great sea view rooms. Highly recommend! Zuzanna on reception did everything to accommodate us during our stay, big thanks to her and the team.

We loved the location it was perfect for nearby walks to Beachy head or towards town and the pier, breakfast was delicious, the staff were lovely and the room was very comfortable... a great size and we had lovely sea views.
Our room was perfect apart from the fact it did get really hot. I think if the windows opened sideways and not up/down more air would get in. Reception gave us an extra fan. We were seaside side so probably a room facing the back didn't have the sun all day and wouldn't be hot but the view was worth the heat!

It said pool and games room, but we couldn’t find anything?

For that size of the room the price could have been slightly lower

Friendly helpful staff. Lovely room with view. Very Comfortable nights sleep. Almost perfect apart from shower experience.... see below
We asked for a shower for person needing accessible facilities but water impossibly hot. There is a warning but No adjustment to temperature possible and couldn't find any means of switching overhead shower to handheld shower attachment. So elderly mother couldn't use it at all and even I, (I usually love a hot shower) couldn't stand underneath and had to wash by standing to the side. This was a huge shame as otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but it could be the deal breaker which would send us somewhere else if we want to stay in Eastbourne again. In every other way, very satisfied.

Have stayed before and enjoyed this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Had to return my steak which I had ordered for evening meal as it was too tough to eat. Manager removed this from my bill.
Room was small but comfortable. Also too hot. Had to open windows to cool it but then had traffic noise.
Not too disturbing.
