We were in the newest part of the hotel overlooking the river. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was very good (fairly steady temperature, good pressure, non-slippery floor, water contained within shower area). It was quiet at night (we were not close to the bar and we couldn't hear any noise from the adjacent rooms). The location was excellent. It was right at the edge of the picturesque old part of town. There was free parking on one side of the hotel. (It costs extra if you want to park in their garage.) There was a small refrigerator in the room. The curtains did a good job of blocking the light, though some light came in around the edges. One of the windows could open to let in fresh air. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff were nice, especially those that worked the breakfast room and those who cleaned the rooms. The "fancy" restaurant had a small menu but excellent food. We did not eat in the bar. There are other eating places nearby as well.
I disliked the use of strong-smelling cleaning products on tables while we (and other people) were eating. The smell traveled for quite a distance around the room because it was sprayed on. It really interfered with my enjoyment of dinner because it smelled like strong, cheap perfume. It gradually dissipated, though not completely. Though a different kind of product was being used in the breakfast room, it smelled strong as well, though luckily didn't seem to last as long. We ate breakfast earlier our second morning there and managed to avoid being near any spraying of tables. We ate dinner at a different place, our second evening there, to avoid any cleaning product smells. I should also mention that my pillow was too thick for me, so I used my own thin one. My husband thought his was fine. There was no bathmat or face cloths, a common thing in Norway it seems. Overall, the hotel was one of the best we've stayed in while in Norway, so if they'd just switch to better (less smelly) table-cleaning products (hydrogen peroxide?), they'd be just about perfect.

The lady at reception was really helpful and kind.
It was nothing like the photos. Smelled of old, damp and dusty furniture. Stuffy hot room and no way to open the window wide.

Big room and nice breakfast
Too expensive for not having a lot to enjoy in the hotel, for instance swimming pool

Breakfast was good. Staff was courteous
100 kroner to pack a lunch seemed a bit high when other hotels do not charge.

Restaurant Ellen and breakfast very good
as the hotel had few guests, it was disappointing that the “superior” room we were allocated was at the furthest end of the top floor looking over the carpark! A river view on the other side of the corridor would have been preferable. Had we done something wrong?
in contrast we’ve just stayed at the Rognan Hotel, also few guests at present but we where given one of their best rooms overlooking the fjord.
different hoteliers, different attitudes.

Cozy hotel with history, gorgeous views of the fjords right in front of our window. Delicious dinner, very good breakfast. They shower was heaven due to the strong pressure of the water. Been 2 weeks in Norway, in many 4 stars hotels. This one I enjoyed very much.

Lovely location beside the old area of Mosjoen beside the river. Beautiful view from our room out over the water. Free historic tour of the hotel one of the mornings. Excellent breakfast.
Nothing at all.
We actually changed another reservation to stay in this hotel again a week later
