The most caring and helpful hotel staff that I have met in a very long time.

The location of this small hotel in Unawatuna is super, away enough from the main strip to make it relaxed but not too far that access to the strip is an issue. The beach is across the road.

Nothing. I highly recommend this hotel.

Relax and chill

Czysto a to nie zawsze na Sri Lance. Smacznie śniadania i knajpa za murem. Super basenik. Relax w tajskim stylu.

Beautiful and comfortable place next to the beach

We had a great deal for our stay, and had a room upgrade (triple room with balcony), but the hotel was amazing, especially being the last on our trip. Especially compared with the other types of places we stayed on the trip (smaller hotels, homestays), this was such a comfortable and beautiful room! Clean, AC, good Wi-Fi, amazing “outdoor” bathroom, relaxing pool, and good location next to the beach. I can’t comment on the regular breakfast, but we were leaving for the airport at 05:30 and the staff prepared us an early breakfast, we felt welcomed and well taken care of.

Amazing place to stay, wouldnt book anywhere else!!

Oh my God! We have seen many great reviews from this hotel before i booked it and YES, it is a great place to stay when you are in Unawatuna. a short walk from the beach in a quiet place, and we were extremly lucky because we were the only guest in the hotel. We loved every morning to wake up for bird songs and the bonus was to enjoy breakfast when a monkey family come to the trees and they waiting for their bananas. amazing. The stuff was super helpful, breakfast was excellent

i wouldnt say that i didnt like but this is the only COLDish pool in Sri Lanka (haha) as it is rather in a shady area, so no chance to warm up really but was still really nice to swim in it.

Beautiful accommodation

Beautiful garden with pool. Cozy rooms, comfortable beds with mosquito nets. Beautiful big and cozy bathroom. Very nice and helpful staff. There is a grocery store nearby as well as a liquor store.

Several electrical outlets were not working.

Tranquil oasis near to the beach

Stunning garden, lovely shaded pool and gorgeous design.

Fine/ net curtains as well as black out curtains would have been a nice touch as it would have allowed light to come into the room but still allow for privacy.

AURORA is FANTASTIC!

First of all, in reality AURORA is much more beautiful than on the pictures! Rooms are very spacious and cozy, bathrooms on the floor amazing, balconies with the view on the green plants - just wow! AC perfectly working. Hot water with great pressure. Breakfasts were tasty, with fruits, toasts, fried eggs, fresh juice. Swimming pool - really nice. And of course AURORA Team - so nice, helpful and always smiling :) Our little son Theo loved them so much!

good location, close enough to town but far enough away from the main road not the hear the traffic. beautifully decorated and clean throughout. staff were excellent, as was the breakfast.

take mosquito repellent. the beautiful green surroundings are also enjoyed by mosquitos.

Heaven.

Just beautiful, couldn't fault anything here. fabulous place to stay, great staff who couldn't do enough for us. Very comfortable and clean. the monkeys and wildlife in the garden were an added bonus. We will be back!

Amazing place, almost perfect

We stayed in September so the hotel was quiet due to it being off season and in the midst of the economic crisis, our room was lovely and the pictures don't do the room and bathroom especially any justice. We had an issue with the AC which was fixed within the hour, we asked if we could have access to a fridge and one was bought to our room . We stayed 5 nights and breakfast alternates between western and Sri Lankan, both were lovely breakfasts. The room and interior were clean and well kept. Staff lovely and friendly.

The only fault we had was the pool area was not cleaned, loungers were dirty and the wooden area around the pool not clean either. Considering we were the only guests it shouldn't have been too much trouble to do.

Quiet and comfortable, we were well looked after

Staff were very friendly. It was very quiet due to the situation at the time in SL. Breakfast was a continental style, lots of fruit and toast etc, probably far too much food but very nice people running the hotel.

Superb

Amazing feel to the place with beautiful surrounds and rooms. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They also have a generator so we were not affected by power cuts.

A very cosy small hotel. Very nice breakfast. Beautiful rooms with all of the facilities you might need, huge bed. Very clean. Great and friendly staff. Very beautiful and green territory and of course a lovely swimming pool. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay here. Two minute walk to the beach. Liquor shop and tiny supermarket along with some restaurants are just around the corner.

A perfect place to relax

This was our second stay at Aurora and it was just as good as we remembered. The building itself is beautiful and well kept and the grounds are stunning, full of wildlife. The staff are really helpful, the breakfasts are fantastic and the whole vibe is just totally relaxing. The beach is a really short walk away and there are a great selection of restaurants in the ‘town’.

A small fridge in the room to keep drinks cold would make things even better.

Lovely hotel in Central location

Lovely, clean hotel- much lovelier than in photos! Pool was relaxing and room and bathroom were very clean. Good facilities and great, central location. Very helpful allowing us to leave our luggage for the morning. Breakfast was tasty.

Odd check-in situation where booking.com said check-in from 11am but the room was not ready when arriving at 12pm. Told it was because we had not responded to WhatsApp (received just before 12pm on day of arrival) about arrival time but had not experienced this elsewhere or been told in advance. Not a problem as we spent the afternoon in Galle instead but still some delays when we returned. Otherwise, staff seemed friendly and helpful.

A very enjoyable and relaxing stay. The owner and staff of the hotel are a total top in the industry

Breakfast like everywhere in Sri Lanka. More like montonne, based on eggs and fruit. However, the highest quality and unbelievably friendly service. Neat greenery, animals in the garden. Very nice swimming pool. Super nice and committed owner and service.

The exterior of the hotel and its location. There is a not very clean street after you exit the gate. To get to the beach, also not very attractive, you have to cross the road which is very busy. However, the owner advised us to another beach 1.5 km away, where it was much more pleasant - including the biggest attraction my children experienced on Sr Lanka - feeding and swimming with huge turtles, about 1 meter long

Oasis of piece near beach

Hotel in new or renovated. Rooms very clean and big with amauing swimming pool in "jungle". Much better then on photos. Great value for money what you can get in this location. I wish i could have same equipment at home...
