LOCATION: 1. modern home in the community of Rolling Bay on Bainbridge Island. 2. sunny side of the island, situated on a bluff overlooking the Sound 3. one of the most encompassing views of the Puget Sound, see the tankers, sailboats, and fishing boats make their journey 4. truly full ocean view location on the bluff, with views of Seattle Space Needle 5. 10 minute drive to the island ferry terminal 6. 10 minute drive to the island store TLC market, and downtown Winslow 7. far from cell phone towers, but you will still have coverage. 8. this location on the island is very private, as the yard and home are gated, and corners the bluff providing the Puget Sound view. 9. Wifi internet, & cable TV are all available, but for those requesting more tech security, or prefer to lower RF radiation, the wifi can be switched off, as the modem is independent, so that direct ethernet cable to computer or tablet can be used as well. CLEAN: 1. We pay close attention to making sure the home is exceptionally clean and hypoallergenic. We use professional cleaners between guests. 2. This is a true vacation home, it's spacious and peaceful as we use this as our own vacation getaway as well 3. We like five star hotels, we keep the cleanliness to those standards, especially the bedding and furniture. TECH 1. Wifi, internet, and xfinity 2. Stunning modern, stylish house with a jaw-dropping view of Puget Sound, Seattle and the Cascade Mountains from the east side of Bainbridge Island. The host has thought of everything from heated floors in the bathroom, to reading glasses, binoculars, and a fully appointed kitchen. Many books, fascinating games for all ages, warm fireplaces. The house exudes a quiet serenity. A short walk to a wonderful market with local food and wine and a top-notch, niche Italian restaurant. There are beach walks and trails nearby as well. Thank you to the lovely hosts. We will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The view at the home is absolutely incredible. From morning coffee outside watching the sunrise, to a glass of wine or cocktail in the evening, followed by a late night firepit, we couldn’t get enough of the beautiful view. The home is nice and had everything we needed.

Everything was really fantastic. The home, the setting, the neighborhood, all the activities on the island, the food, the managers input and advice, etc. Beautiful weather didn’t hurt either! Exactly what we were looking for for a family retreat and downtime. We’ll be back!

Slice of Heaven
Gorgeous. Green, blue, flowers! Birds abound, ships sail the sound. Owner and Property Mgr were timely with their responses including recommendations on Bainbridge. Clear directions to find home, and a helpful binder to explore the island. Their thoughtful welcoming gifts got us off to a delicious start and very nicely complemented the expansive views. We were traveling with our two young adult children and all of us had both space to ourselves within the home, and plenty of room to interact inside and outside in the nicely landscaped yard too. Closet with puzzles and games; ample clean towels and basic supplies in all bathrooms and kitchen. We visited during a full moon and the already stunning views opened to tidal water changes in Puget Sound. Carly's Cafe in Rolling Bay was an enjoyable easy morning walk to fresh coffee and pastries, and Winslow had plenty to offer in food, interesting stores, art, friendly locals. It was an absolutely delightful holiday; wish we could've stayed! Highly recommend.

What a beautiful home and garden with an incredible view. We had a great time and thank the owner for sharing her home. Everything we needed was provided and gifts of candle, soap and food items were greatly appreciated.

This is a beautiful property! The view from the patio is breathtaking and relaxing. The home is very clean and we felt welcomed with fresh flowers. It was a great location for a 30-year college friends get together. I highly recommend this property!

This place is a little slice of heaven set up on a hill with a breath taking view. Hard to get anything done it’s so darn nice out there. I have to admit we had pizza or pasta at Via Rosa every night. Thanks for sharing this house with us.

Delightful
This place that will cast a spell over you if you let it. The pictures really don't do the house and panoramic views justice. From the hummingbirds to the wafts of lavender from the garden, everything about this property is so well thought out and inviting, that from the moment you arrive you are enchanted. The house is well stocked and Julie and Deborah thoughtfully provided yogurt from a local dairy and a basket of local soaps, treats, milk, and bread. There were even fresh flowers on the table. Nearby options for food, wine and amusement are numerous (yes Via Rosa's is as good as the raves), including a couple of top notch restaurants. Fresh eggs and locally grown fruit from the Hay and Feed store was also appreciated. We especially enjoyed the Fairy Dell Hike and the wine tasting up the road with music on the lawn. All and all one of the favorite places we have visited. Enthusiastically recommended.

Julie's home is stunning. The home is beautifully appointed, the view is extraordinary and the service was first class. We are already looking at calendars for booking a return trip. We've stayed in many places on Bainbridge Island and this is by far our favorite!

Want to look into eternity?
Mystical, magical corner of the world with spectacular jaw dropping views. Gardens with hummingbirds, fire pit and front row seats to the water ways. Best of all, walking distance to Via Rosa for pizza and spaghetti. Little town is so quaint I feel like I’ve entered a hip Mayberry. Home has everything you need with luxury rooms, fireplaces. There was a surprise greeting basket with local fresh whole grain bread, yogurt, jam and soap. Top notch!

Unbelievable views from great Bainbridge Island Location
Our group of 3 couples had an overall great stay at the Modern House in Rolling Bay but there were a couple of quirks. Bottom line? We would love to stay here again.
This is an impeccably well maintained property both inside and out. The landscaping appears to be professionally designed and fits in beautifully with the surroundings. There is a selection of outside seating from which we were able to enjoy the view of Puget Sound and across to the mainland. The house itself is a spectacular example of how good design can be used to enhance a setting's natural beauty. In addition it's spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The beds are comfortable and made with high quality linens and there were plenty of towels in easy to access locations throughout. The kitchen is on the small side but the appliances are all full sized and it's so well laid out that we didn't have an issue with it. Additional nice touches included welcome baskets with local bread, jam, yogurt, soaps, and bee balm; milk and butter were included as well.
The property is an easy .25 mile walk to a pleasant cafe and small grocery. We walked up for coffee (and sometimes pastries) every morning. There's also a highly rated Italian restaurant nearbv, Via Rosa 11, but it was closed during our stay due to water main issues.
While the 6 of us made it work, and loved our stay here, the house feels like it's really meant for 4 adults. The third bedroom with the queen Murphy bed is large but seemed to be more of a converted home office space. The couple in that room said the room was fine but they wished there had been an armoire or bureau to put their clothes in.
We found the seating in the living area to be a bit challenging as well: the sofa is so low to the ground that it made it difficult for some of us to get up from. There are 3 side chairs but, if we all wanted to be together, we either sat outside or around the dining room table.
Finally, we did have an issue with the water heater while we were there but the property manager had let us know in advance and was super quick to respond when the hot water ran out. Deb talked us through a temporary fix and then got the plumber out the next morning. What could have been a major inconvenience was resolved efficiently and cheerfully.
I hope we get a chance to visit Bainbridge Island again someday. We would happily stay here again!

Exquisite views and home
This was an absolutely fantastic home to stay in. The owner is very warm and helpful with details about the area and the renting of the house. The time spent in this beautiful home, with my high school friends, made our trip so memorable.
The home,itself, is absolutely lovely, welcoming, and so relaxing. What a wonderful way to wake up and have the gorgeous views of Seattle, Ballard and northward starting your day. We did spend time, also, just sitting at night and relaxing in the amazing area outside.
The beds were very comfortable and the living space worked very well for us. The heated master bathroom floor was great! The location was walking distance to an adorable coffee store, general store, fantastic Italian restaurant (we did take out) and a short walk to the water.
We were sorry to have to leave and go back to the real world. We definitely want to come back to this wonderful home!

An amazing 180 degree view of the sound!
What a lovely surprise to be greeted by a Welcome basket with many goodies, including a delicious, fresh loaf of bread. But, even more thoughtful, was the carton of milk for our granddaughter. The house faces out to the sound, with beautiful landscaping, and an unobstructed view of the water and the city across the sound. It is quite spacious, accommodating, our entire group nicely. The location is perfect, with a great Italian Restaurant nearby, and a Jiffy Mart, for the things we still needed.
It may not matter to most, but the counters in the kitchen and bathrooms, are just slightly higher than usual, and may be a problem if you are particularly short, as our daughter-in-law, who is not quite 5 ft. tall.
We would definitely, consider staying there again.
