I like everything about Cantinho Rural . The location in the nature is what I was looking for . It's only 20 to 30 minutes drive to Funchal and 20 to 30 minutes to Pico Arieiro .

Tiszta, kellemes természeti környezetben fekvő csöndes, nyugodt körülményeket biztosító szállás. Kedves személyzet. Szerintem eddigi legjobb szállásunk.
Nincs ilyen.

The website doesn't do it justice : this place is absolutely gorgeous ! A bit remote, but the land is beautiful with gardens and lawns that show a lot of care.
The cottage we were in was spacious, very well decorated, squeaky-clean, had everything we needed and lots of fun extra amenities!
Frankly, it's a little patch of heaven. Our only regret was that we had to leave at the end.
Thank you so much for this amazing stay!

Lovely homely cottage, in a quiet natural area yet close to the capital, host was very helpful and even arranged a rental car and airport collections for us. It felt like we were living on the island ourselves, cooking in the kitchen and relaxing by the fire etc in the evenings...
The stay was really lovely overall, only would have liked some smaller pieces of wood as kindling for the fire...

Very quiet. Comfortable beds. Well stocked kitchenware. Loved the fireplace. Friendly and attentive staff. WiFi was quite good. Highly recommend for a quiet escape! Trail access points nearby. Inquire with host about budget-friendly local car rental options and taxi options.
Liked it all.

Wonderful accommodation for people who want to enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains in a beautiful setting. The way down to Santa Cruz or to Camacha is quickly mastered. But you should have a car.
We liked it very much and will come back again.

secluded, near Levada walks and good bus links to Funchal.
Disappointed that the hot tub out of action.

Lovely little sunny sweet spot in the mountains where the air is sooo fresh. While it was cloudy all around, we seemed to have sunshine much of the time proving an abundance of flowers and fruits. The cottage was bigger than expected with very comfortable bed and pillows, and very well stocked kitchen for cooking, including tea, coffee, milk, sugar and a few spices. A decent grocery store with nice people and fresh bread, Casais de Vila, is in Santo de Serra. It was mentioned in another review that you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the cottage but we made it no problem on a scooter! Wifi was a bit slow downstairs but upstairs it worked great. The cottages are a bit remote but with a vehicle you are close to many amenities and really the island is small enough to do day trips most anywhere. We had a delicious, and huge, roast goat that was sooo tender at the restaurant, Katespero, where you turn off the main road. You are surrounded by farms so it you want super fresh meat this is the area... but be prepared it is a rather sad situation seeing some of the animals. This is a very locals area and less touristy than most of the island which is refreshing. Our little dog LOVED this place and begged us to stay forever. Enjoy your visit and expect a bit of rain.
It would be nicer to have a better shower hook and head that stays in position. Also it is really easy to hit the tap while in the small shower and suddenly get very hot or very cold water so beware.

We liked this property very much. It was very comfortable, located in a very quiet and verdant environment, surrounded by woods and pastures were goats were grazing. Wow! The house is as depicted in the pictures or even nicer. The house has everything you possibly need for a comfortable stay. The kids especially liked the vintage video games + the board games. The communication with the host was easy and they answered our messages very quickly. There was a person on site who one could turn to in case of any problems.
nothing really.

Lina gave excellent instructions, everything was clean and lovely.

It is a cozy and comfortable house. You have a lot of private space, what we really liked. Everything you need is there. It is a good location to explore the east of Madeira. Shops and restaurants are available in Camacha.
Not a must but it would have been nice if we could have talked to someone in person to get tips etc. Nobody was there during our arrival and during our stay.

The place was very beautiful! So quiet, only birds and animals in the vicinity :)
The kitchen was fully equipped, there was enough wood for the fireplace and we've had more than enough towels and blankets.
First night was a little bit cold, despite the radiators and the fireplace. However, all other night was warm enough (with the fireplace going it was even to hot sometimes :)).

A beautiful house in a beautiful garden. Very quiet and charming. Off the beaten path, a bit far from everything - however, good access to Funchal and Pico de Areeiro.
We really appreciated the fireplace, as it was quite cold (end of May).
Also, we loved the comfortable beds and separate duvets!
The access to the property was a bit challenging, it's a steep, narrow road without asphalt. It could be quite stressful for beginner or automatic transmission drivers, but we managed fine.
The house has two bedrooms, but the second one is not a room per se, it's open to the living room.

A great place to spend time with your family.
There is a laundry room outside, a fireplace in the cottage to warm up on cold days, a kitchen. You must have a car to get there, but you can explore the entire island. Peace and quiet, close to the levada. Beautiful garden.
There was a problem with the hot water (the gas stove would turn off frequently).

Very nice and quite location, well equipped, super confirtable bed, hamac in frontof the house, fireplace inside….an entrance to a “levada” just next to the complex. We had only 2 nights there at the end of our trip but would like to stay longer.

The wood fire was an unexpected plus.
The weather was wetter than we'd have liked.

It was a really nice place to stay amidst forest and meadows and a well-cared-for garden. Very quiet. The fireplace was really cosy in the evening. Every few days there was someone friendly around and asked if we needed something, brought wood etc.. There was a nice hammock in front of the house.

Off the beaten track, very scenic and relaxing view. We were there a month, and never felt cramped, had our own separate villa.
It's higher elevation than Funchal, so it's cooler in the winter, but still very pleasant.

Great location. Very well maintained and comfortable property. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good facilities. The heating was on and a the wood burner fire was lit, making for a warm welcome. Complimentary teas and coffee were provided, along with a carton of milk. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at Cantinho Rural. The house we stayed in was very nice with all necessities present in the house. The fireplace was very pleasant as the evenings high in the mountain got a little chilly.

What can I say apart from 100% didn’t want to leave!
Clean, comfortable, private and the photos do NOT do it justice. It’s set in beautiful gardens a hammock outside to relax in and sheep in the field next door. I didn’t want to leave. I stayed with my my family two young children who had a great time. Bbq outside was a lovely touch.
Check in was easy, the house was clean and a nice touch of dressing gowns too. The kitchen was very well equipped too. It’s also a great location to visit other tourist destinations
Difficult to find but once you do... wow!

Nothing in my opinion.
We stayed in Cantinho Rural over a week. It is a small cottage with one bedroom and a living room with mezzanine. There is additional comfortable double bed placed on the mezzanine. The bathroom is also placed on the mezzanine. The cottage is charming and awesome with good quality furnitures and facilities for making meals. The surrounding of the cottage is also beautiful. In a few minutes walk there is a levada route.

The fireplace was a nice extra for the evenings! The house as I said is in a great environment with nice views. The facilities were also good (enough wall contacts, decent cookware, proper insulated/good heating, decent wifi, good TV with Netflix, and so on). I would definitely recommend the place to friends and family. It's not the usual because it is inland (so no ocean views) but it's the best inland Madeira has to offer - beautiful views over a valley with amazing trees - quiet and homely, yet everything you need (tourist hotspots, Funchal, Camacha shopping center) is nearby!
It was an amazing environment to stay in (really much more unique than the generic coastal hotel or lodge) and a great well equipped house. The only feedback I have is it's better not to put drinking glasses in the cabinet under the TV as that cabinet is rather old and dusty and it transfers to the glasses, we had to wash them. But it only held the small liquor glasses anyway - everything else in the kitchen itself was clean and great!
