About this cabin rental

Nestled in Branson, this lovely cabin for R 4,541 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. A picturesque site at the 'Deep Water Chute' on Lake Taneycomo about a mile down from Table Rock Dam. Secluded across from 200 foot bluffs with massive oaks shading covered porches and decks. The primary residence cabin has 3br & 2baths, is fully appointed and provisioned, including Cable/WiFi. Adjacent to the main residence, connected by decks is a two room bungalow 'guest house' with separate mini=kitchen and full bath. The bungalow has just been redone from the floods in January 2016. Ample deck furniture including grill and 'porch swings are available. There is ample parking for as many cars as needed as well as a high double carport space for campers or motorhomes. From the deck, there are about ten steps to the large dock with a wide slip which will accommodate guest's 'trailered boat' or a boat rented from Trout Lodge Marina just 200 yards downstream. There is a public access boat-launch just 200 yards upstream from the residence. This quiet and beautiful setting is as good as it gets for a 'Trout Fishing Experience on famous Taneycomo. Of course just up the hill is The College of the Ozarks with their award winning upscale Keeter Center Restaurant. Just down the street across from Trout Lodge, is Gilberti's Italian and at the top of the hill you will find McDonalds, Country Mart Sonic, etc. The residence is about a mile down the hill from College of the Ozarks which is immediately at the Hollister exit. The 'Strip/76' exit is just 4 minutes away and The Landing' only 5 minutes away either by I-65 or the back way through downtown Hollister.

Title: A Dreamy Getaway - A Review of VRBO Property Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) We had the pleasure of staying at this VRBO property, and I must say, it was an absolute perfect Thanksgiving getaway. First and foremost, the location was simply breathtaking. Nestled near the College of Ozark surrounded by stunning natural beauty, this property offered a serene and peaceful ambiance. that instantly made us feel at home. The log cabin look had a rustic charm that was both cozy and quaint. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. The outdoor space was perfect! We felt like we were in the wilderness yet we were only 1.8 miles away from the grocery store.

The place hadn’t been cleaned and there was no heat! There was trash and dirty dishes from previous tenants and there was actually hair all over the shower wall. No trash bags or toilet paper we had to go buy. So disappointed as the lake view is awesome but not worth the rest. We will be finding another lake view

I recommend reading the reviews! John likes to call people “woke” and blame others for the run-down and absolutely filthy dwelling that VRBO allows him to rent out. Upon arrival, the front of the property looks nice. However, the minute you step inside, the nice appearance is gone. Now, I don’t have a problem with a place being outdated, but when you combine that with completely rundown and dirty, that’s not good. Starting with cottage, the overwhelming smell of mildew was more than a person can handle. There was also a window unit that was AC only…no heat in the cottage and the nights were going to be in the low 40s. The roof had leaked and the ceiling the bathroom was black with mold and had fallen in around the light fixture. The shower was disgusting as well and the shower head was completely corroded. There’s a hot-tub that doesn’t work that is quite the eyesore. The main house…wow is all I can say. It was filthy. I was told that the cleaning crew would be in there until 3:00 getting the place ready for us. I am positive that they don’t use a cleaning crew…they don’t even bother sweeping the floors. The dog smell is pretty prevalent, there was dirt and dog hair pretty much everywhere…including on top of the fridge! It was so bad, I booked a different place down the river and left this dump. John offered half of my money back to VRBO but then later messaged that he was keeping it. Absolutely filthy place.VRBO should NOT allow it to be rented!Disgusting unit

Overall our stay was great! Picturesque view! The deck was a great place to hang out and relax. Plenty of room for several people to stay. I will say that it could have used some extra cleaning and airing out before our arrival. There was an odor that was not pleasant to smell in the main bedroom and bathroom. But we had a nice time regardless.

Great location, a good cleaning and some maintenance would make this a good place to stay. Neither TV worked Front bath room door would not close, back bathroom door would not latch. Patio roof leaks. Rotten boards on patio, lots of rotten boards on dock. Picture window broken, held together with tape. No response from owner.

My wife and I enjoyed your staying at this place, it was exactly what we needed to wind down and a great start to our vacation that we just concluded. While the inside was rustic, it was exactly what I expected. The back porch was a great place to drink coffee in the morning and BBQ in the evening. We took advantage of the dock and fished and had a great time. The only negative was the TV, there were only a few channels on TV, and no way to get TV apps such as Prime, Netflix, Fubo, etc because there were no remote to get them or any other app. There were numerous controls in the house that did not go to anything, so we did other things besides watch TV. lol We enjoyed the amenities of the house. The kitchen had the right amount of everything to cook or BBQ. The dining room was bigger than I expected and was very comfortable. The living room furniture and bedding was satisfactory. The back porch as stated was the star of the show. It was a short 5-10 minutes to Branson which was nice to go see a show or shop. Overall we really enjoyed the place it was peaceful, quiet and comfortable and if it is available we will return next year and visit again
