Perfekte Lage, freundlich, Superfrühstück, geräumige Zimmer

Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet mit Käse, Lachs, Fleisch, Müesli, Eierspeisen, Broten, frischem Fruchtsalat etc. Aufgrund der Hotelgrösse war der Andrang am Buffet nicht gross. Sehr angenehm. Die Lage ist top, wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Strasse mit Mini-Balkon. Natürlich gibt es da Strassenlärm, was uns nicht störte. Die Aussicht aufs Wasser ist dies wert. Gehdistanz zum Zentrum, Djurgarden sowie Gamla Stan. Das Hotel/die Zimmer sind älter, haben aber Charme und es ist freundlich. Wir waren vor diversen Jahren bereits in diesem Hotel und ich hatte es in positiver Erinnerung: einfach, ohne Luxus, aber freundlich und Toplage. Ein weiteres Plus ist die fehlende Klimaanlage, welche in anderen Hotels sehr unangenehm sein kann, weil es immer einen Luftzug gibt, welcher oft nicht regulierbar ist.

Great hotel, great location

Staff were very friendly, and the hotel was really nice - albeit the upper floor looked nicer than the downstairs. Nice variety of food for breakfast, and the hotel was in a great location

A Very Special Place

Hotel rooms in Stockholm are not cheap and many hotels offer rooms without windows. Thankfully I came across Hotel Esplanade, a gem of a place in one of Stockholm's most beautiful areas, right at the Strandvägen boulevard. Our room in the beautiful Art Nouveau building across from the harbor (boat tour to the Stockholm archipelago was only a 2 min walk) was large and sparkling clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was out of this world. Almost all of the dishes were homemade and thinking of the scrumptious midsummer cake still makes my mouth water. Now, the Esplanade is a little quirky. For example, in our room, the sink was located very close to the toilet in this kind of weird arrangement. In other words, don't expect total perfection. Nevertheless, this is a small hotel where the staff does not treat you like an anonymous number. It's one of those places that you will fondly remember!

Disappointing

Breakfast (buffet) was great. A lot of options to choose from (even for vegetarians). The style of the hotel is pretty nice and has some retro notes.

Not clean enough. Found hair in the bathroom and garbage on the floor. Also, we booked a room with a Garden view but we've got a room with a street view. That room is not worth the money.

Excellent choice if you came to walk around the city and not toss and turn in a hotel bed.

Room - too small for two persons but it did not cause inconvenience; breakfast - pancakes were missing :); location - best.

Excellent location for a historic hotel

This historic hotel is very well located at easy walking distance from the shops, old town and Djurgarden. It offers a wonderful breakfast and free coffee and tea all day round.

Our bed was too soft and not very comfortable. When one coughed this awakened the other because the bed moved so much.

Great location Lovely ambiance - inside and out Great front reception staff - helped us with local information. Shopping and where to eat. Easy to catch a bus into to city - close to watch the ferry boats Liked the lounge area Very nice breakfast and coffee machine

Fantastic location - rooms a little basic but made up for by lovely public spaces.

Beautiful, central location right on the water. Stunning building with lovely public spaces, in particular the first floor lounge with spectacular views.

Room was on the small side for a double. It was rather dusty on arrival, and also only had one bedside table which obviously isn’t acceptable for two people. To be fair both issues were addressed within 24 hours after we reported them.

I enjoyed the breakfast and the classic surroundings. It seemed like more like a second home than a hotel room! The central locatiuon was also perfect since "everything" is within walking distance!

The hotel, although relatively quiet could benefit from more acoustic isolation of the water pipes since I awoke the first three days to the sound of my neighbour showering at 6:15...

I liked it very much, would stay here again

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room is nice and clean, very comfortable for one night stay. Breakfast was good, free hot coffee and cookies all day is a nice treat especially in wintertime ;) Wifi is free and very good

Amazing stay and very centric

Breakfast was really good … we enjoyed especial y being able to consume coffee or tea when returning from the cold!

Maybe the cleaning service… it wasn’t by any means bad, but it was not daily.

It is always nice to return to the hotel I have been using for thirty five years. Please do not change it. or at least only after I have stopped being a guest

The bed was great, the place was neat, and surprisingly personal.

Beautiful room, and the living room area and breakfast room were both very nice.

Nothing, our bathroom could perhaps have been a little nicer, but that’s it.
