Great value for money in the urban area of Tokyo. Would stay again if not travelling with family.

Very close to the Kitakanagawa Station and lots of shops around. Friendly English-speaking staff and plenty of tourist information provided. Sufficient heating and hot water supply, along with cozy futons. There are three shared bathrooms with showers and spacious changing area. Toaster oven, microwave, fridge and water kettle are free to use. Eating in rooms is allowed. Plenty of hanging space for clothes and towels in this room. There's a charging dock with 4 USB ports, and another socket for additional appliances. Usage guides for facilities are all written in English. A house blend coffee is provided for free in the morning, and also available as drip bags for purchase. The common area is only open 8:00-10:00 and 16:00-22:00. As a backpacker inn, there isn't much space for suitcases though.

Lighting in the room was rather dim. The inn has already been in business for a long time, so some interiors are a bit worn down. The building isn't soundproof, and most guests are not aware of this fact, especially when closing doors.

Tolles Guesthouse, wo man sich direkt wie Zuhause fühlt.

Das Zimmer war zwar klein, aber sehr bequem. Wir waren relativ lang dort und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die MitarbeiterInnen haben immer dafür gesorgt, dass wir alles haben, was wir brauchen. Außerdem liegt das Guesthouse nicht weit von Shinagawa, wo man Ubahn, JR Line und Shinkansen erreichen kann. Alles in allem TOP!

Great staff and basic facilities in a good location

The friendliness of the staff and their willingness to sit down and make conversation. The basic facilities and location were fine too.

The single room was a little narrow and only barely fit me with my big luggage.

If you need an “off the beaten path hostel-like room” for one night, this may be a good option.

Location was quaint & a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Property is in disrepair/poor condition. The “beds” were merely wooden platforms w/ thin futons and therefore uncomfortable. The facility pictures don’t show these particular rooms. The showers have black mold. The stairways are narrow and not easy to navigate.

Beautiful staff, need another bathroom

Staff is amazing and kind

While the rooms are smaller than others I had stayed in, the part that really wasn’t good was having 1 shower for an entire hostel. Never seen that before. Had to wait 3 hours to shower after being out all day.

The staff was really nice, the hotel is very comfy and cozy, I had a single room with shared bathroom, the bathroom was very clean. Also the location was really near to my work place so it was perfect for me.

Great location. Many shops and restaurant nearby.

Location is near to Kitashinagawa Station. Many shops and restaurants nearby. I got an upgrade of the room to single room. There is one female bathroom in one of the floors. The building itself is old. Very friendly and helpful staffs, they helped me with my luggage bag too :)

It will be great if the hostel can provide a simple map so that it's easier to locate the hostel. Plainly reading in word form can cause confusion.

Amzing but can be improved

The staff. They were amazing and welcoming! They have little lobby/dining area at the check in area. So when you eat or check in the staff will take initiative to chit chat with you.

I hope the blinds beside my bed could be cleaner. Because I could see the dust on the blinds and the gap between wall and bed.

Would recommend staying here!

We had a nice stay here! Very nice and helpful stuff. We checked-in very late and it was no problem at all. Nice showers and bathrooms. Every morning there is fresh brewed coffee for free and also thing like earplugs, hairbrushes and toothbrushes for free :) right next door is a family market and it is close to the JR train station Shinagawa and Keyku line Keta-Shinagawa.

The only thing which was inconvenient was that metro lines were 25min walk away. We chose not to buy the JR line tickets because it is expensive, so we bought the metro ticket. Because of that we walked every day 25 min to the station and back in the afternoon. That is not the fault of the Guesthouse or anything, just wanted you to know, if you book it :)

A backpacker hostel with very friendly and helpful staff.

Very friendly staff. Location was a nice surprise.

The photo of the quadruple room makes it look larger and more opulent than it is.

Very accessible location, friendly staff, good facilities

Room is a bit on the small side, but this is expected of Tokyo. Shared toilet could get less clean at times after heavy usage, but the staff also cleaned it very regularly.

Great inexpensive place in Tokyo

The guesthouse is only 10 minutes away from Shinagawa JR line. It's very convenient if you're arriving from Haneda Airport. It's located on a quiet street, full of shops and restaurants. The staff were super helpful when I wanted to extend my stay for an extra day. I plan on staying here again whenever I visit Tokyo.

Exceptional

I booked a one person room with shared bathroom for one week. I really liked the location of this guesthouse. It's very accessible (walking distance) to stations (Kita-shinagawa & Shinagawa). There are 3 convenience stores nearby, Thai massage places, small restaurants, Japan post office and a CanDo (100yen) shop. The guesthouse is clean and organize with very helpful, kind and friendly staffs. I also rented a pocket wifi for a very affordable price per day. Highly recommended!
