Exceptional

Amazing place, most beautiful garden we have ever seen. Peaceful place by the sea. View from the balcony was just breathtaking. Room was cleaned every day. Comfortable beds and pillows. I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to relax in peace. And the owner is incredibly kind and helpful. He gave us a few important tips what to see and how to get around. Overall we are super happy we got the chance to stay at this great place!

A relaxing short stay in comfortable apartments, with a lovely garden and swimming pool.

The apartments were lovely. Our host welcomed us on arrival with coffee in a shady bit of the garden, and could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our apartment was spacious and comfortable with a good sized balcony. The garden and swimming pool were wonderful. Our host was also helpful about our final day when we had to wait until early evening for our taxi to the airport.

The only complaint we had was about the smoked glass cups in our kitchen. My husband started to make a cup of tea and when he poured the water from the kettle into the cup with a tea bag in it, the cup literally exploded into hundreds of small glass pieces which scatted across the room! Having obtained a brush and dustpan from the owner, (and a replacement ceramic cup!) he swept up, and tried the second glass cup, with water which was well below boiling point this time, and exactly the same thing happened again! Our host didn't seem particularly concerned, but gave us another ceramic cup! Fortunately my husband wasn't cut, and no real harm done, apart from a lot of time wasted clearing up bits of glass, but if it had happened in our daughter's apartment, with an 18 month old toddler and a lot of baby stuff around, it would have been a very different story. He needs to replace those smoked glass cups throughout the apartments!

Had a lovely relaxing and peaceful week at Villa Rita.

I didnt have breakfast. Apartments have beautiful sea and rural views from their balconies and are set in pretty gardens with a pool and are close the shingly beach. Host is very friendly and hospitable.

Hairdryer could have been provided.

Not as expected

10 minutes walking from the sea and 15 min drive to Agia Marina where you can find restaurants and bars

The hosting experience was unfortunately not that good, maybe because we are italian, we even received a slightly racist joke about italian people, which if you are in front of an italian couple not actually happy, does not help your hosting position :-) At the arrival we werent expected, the host asked us if the day was right. Afterwards he said the there was a problem with the booking system and placed us in a temporary room (for one night) which was a very disappointing room. The second room was definitely better, however both room would need a refresh, curtains and pillows looks old, walls needs to be painted, electric appliances definitely need to be changed. Still do not understand why in both room there was no hanger for the shower head, so you have to wash yourself with only one hand. The swimming pool water was not very clean, the sea in Crete is definitely more transparent :-) , so, go to the beach, is fantastic and a few steps away from the property. At the end, not as expected

Very quiet and relaxing stay.

Very friendly and helpful owner. Good size apartment with a kitchenette. Lovely swimming pool. Very quiet little town. Nice restaurants on the beach.

A wonderfull place

The location was very nice. Calm town and well located. One hour drive from every nice spot to visit in the Chania district. Owner was very helpful and room got cleaned every 3 days. Trash was taken out every day. Nice calm pool. If we go back to Crete we go there for sure!

beautiful property, great pool and super close to the beach! owner was super nice and helpful! room was very big too

shower in the room was very hard to use, small and didn’t hang up so you had to hold shower head the whole time. No soap or shampoo or anything either. a little far from main towns but 10 minute walk from small town nearby.

Excellent place to have as a main base to explore Crete.

We loved everything about the place. The owner is a very nice and serious guy. He upgraded us from a studio to a larger apartment, explained what to do, where to go and every single day what is the best beach (depending on the wind). The pool is amazing, there are lovely taverns in walking distance and the sea is close (200 m).

The wi-fi was a little slow and broke up often.

Lovely clean, spacious apartments in a small block. Great host, good sized pool, short walk to a quiet beach and tavernas nearby. Great stay!

If you're running away from a pandemic, this is the perfect spot to hide.

We landed here by chance after our previous booking was cancelled by the owner and her understandable fear about Covid. This was the perfect alternative. Very well laid out complex with spacious apartment.

Kitchen facilities could have been a bit better but adequate for our needs.

Rooms not as advertised

Nice garden and swimming pool area , wi-fi was ok

We had Family room with sea view. There is absolutely no sea view from this apartment so don’t know where is the name coming from. Apartment advertised as bedroom (double bed + sofa bed) and living area (sofa bed) which is incorrect as there is no sofa bed in the bedrooms so only one sofa , the owner apologised for the wrong description however if that was correct we would not choose this property. Sofa beds very old and uncomfortable. Pictures on Booking.com don’t show the actual room as our room looked different. Kitchen very poorly equipped, no worktop, forget about cooking anything.
