Would stay again.

The room was large and clean. The bed and pillow were very comfy. Also very close to the train station.

The breakfast was cold. The window in the room couldn't close properly, allowing wind and noise to come through.

酒店除了暖氣太高，其他都很好。

酒店就在靜安寺旁邊，二號線地鐵站就對面。附近食肆林立，一切都可以買到。

房間暖氣開得太高，像個焗爐。訪客不能自己控制。外面天氣26度，回到房間是27度，只好打開窗戶，但就比較吵。與酒店員工溝通時得知其他住客也有同樣投訴。希望管理層留意及處理，避免影響酒店評分。

Hotel of a good value in an excellent location if you are not assigned a defective room

Excellent location near subway station, shopping and restaurant. Great value.

-The room I was given at check-in, 1602, had sewerage smell. It became so strong after the bathroom door was shut for a while, I had to ask to be switched to a different room in the middle of night. -There was smoking smells in the breakfast restaurant. The hotel address is of a main road but the front entrance is actually hidden in the back. The taxi may not drop you off at the front entrance if the hotel address is used.

Good rooms, good beds, location not the best for me, old bread at breakfast

The rooms in the front facing the temple have a bit of noise, and we got a room facing the back which is quiet. The bed is comfortable and the room too. Some of the staff speak English, others don't, so it is a bit of luck who you talk to.

Bread at the breakfast was old and dry. Bread should be fresh every day. The location is about 12 minutes by taxi from the Peace hotel, which I would consider the best spot in Shanghai.

Great central location with a touch of Shanghai style

Excellent location! Great breakfast with Chinese dim sum and noodle station - a highlight of the stay. Staffs are really nice, always helpful.

Some furniture details could be refreshed/touched up a bit but overall doesn’t not affect usage

Hotel was 10mins walk to our office. Very convenient. Excellent location to everything. Subway is right next to it. Staff of the hotel were fabulous especially Nemo & Bilbo at the check-in counter and Albert & Norman managing the floor. Extremely helpful and their English is amazing!

The entrance of the building was hidden. It's behind the main road. Reception at 12/F and it's interior is quite traditional. Small lobby, small restaurant.

The hotel manager called the police on me when I brought my life - partner to my room. She was a guest who lived in the city. She forgot to bring a physical copy of her Chinese ID, which was demanded of her when we returned back to the hotel after a late night out. After some heated - and thoroughly impolite argument, we had to go back to her apartment in an hour-long round trip so we could finally go to bed. I will not be returning to this hotel nor would I recommend it.

Would I return or recommend this hotel? NO.

The location

It all went downhill from check-in… despite requesting a room facing the Jingan Temple (and being told that my request was confirmed before arriving) we were then told at check-in that only the more expensive rooms had that view. Additionally, at no point did anyone warn us about the construction site directly outside the bedrooms windows which began work at 7am each morning. To top it all off, even though temperatures outside were close to zero, and it actually snowed whilst we were there, the ac would not go above 22 degrees, and even when we requested maintenance to come look at the heating we were told it was regulated by the hotel and couldn’t go any hotter!

Early morning construction had a noise to wake me up. Breakfast was poor. There was a constant smell like wooden-burn in the room. Electricity plugs were not working properly.

nice, quiet, clean, inexpensive

it’s a nice retro style hotel in the very convenient location. very close to centre and shopping galleries

breakfast was ok (for me) , but my girlfriend couldn’t find anything she would like to eat in the buffet.

You could do a lot better for a same price, but the location was the biggest highlight.

the location was great, the front desk staff were friendly and the bed was comfy. our room gave the perfect view into Jing’an temple, you didn’t have to waste money going into the temple when you could view it almost in its entirety from your hotel room

currently construction going on around that is loud throughout the day and sometimes night (not the hotel’s fault). at the hotel itself I didn’t like how old some of the facilities were, not even in a “classic” kind of way, a couple of the plug sockets were detached from the wall and broken. the bathroom doors couldn’t stay closed and the curtains had a strong smoke smell on them from when previous guests had snuck a cig in even though it was a no smoking floor. the breakfast while other guests seemed to have enjoyed it in the reviews here, I found it really lacking, bland, not very fresh and boring.

comfortable and quiet

Very friendly staff and can speak English. My room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. Fast room service. Great location! Easy to walk to many restaurants, malls, the subway, etc.

Some of the decorations/furniture are a little old in my room. The dining area smelled very strongly of smoke.

- The staff are very friendly. - The rooms are clean. - Location of the hotel is very convenient .

- There was a big construction work by the side of the road. So it was very noisy. This was the only problem which made my stay a little bit unpleasant.

Great location

Great location, very central. Lots of restaurants in the area and a lovely coffee shop on the 1st floor. Front desk staff spoke English. Check in and check out were easy. Breakfast was okay. Will definitely stay again.
