The LAIRD HOUSE is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in popular neighborhood of Tahoe Park. It's walking distance to Tahoe Park Private Beach area with over 3 acres of lakefront enjoyment, and only a short drive to Tahoe City. High Ceilings and an open floorplan welcome you home. Gather on the leather sofas and warm up in front of a fire in the woodstove. Enjoy your favorite shows on the large flat screen TV with cable including networks like CNN, MSNBC, HBO, Showtime, NFL and more! Or, catch your favorite film on the Blue-ray DVD player. There is a surround sound stereo system with CD and cassette and high speed internet to enjoy as well. The updated kitchen offers granite tiled counters, stainless steel appliances including a gas range/oven and dishwasher. The dining room table seats 6 people comfortably and there's a couple of bar stools at the countertop. This home also has a washer and dryer. The fully landscaped property has redwood patio furniture and a gas barbecue on the front deck, a patio table & hot tub on the back deck, and a fully fenced in back yard. It's also easily accessible to many biking/hiking trails and there are public tennis courts about 1/2 mile from the house. There is level access and parking for up to 3 cars. Laird House is a cozy home with a fully-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, a fireplace, a fenced-in backyard for pets, and a hot tub. It is close to restaurants, the lake, markets, and shopping. Our entire family enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming again, this time in the summer.

Our experience in Tahoe was wonderful but we would not stay at Laird house again. The best part of it was the proximity (walking distance) and access to the park/beach HOA at Westshore. The front room and kitchen were fine and so was the deck area. But the house needs some serious TLC in other ways.

We had a great week as the house is very well located and plenty of room for us. The beds were comfortable but thank heaven we brought fans for each room as it was a very hot week.Our only grip was a very cranky neighbor who lives there and obviously does NOT like renters. She actually took pictures! Thank heaven she was gone for most of our week. Nice house though and pretty well equipped!

location was great! the maintenance of the home was NOT good... we've stayed there several years because of the location, but last year tried another place because of weak porch steps at Laird's. we're concerned it'd break under someone's step... but were told the place had been up-graded a bit so tried it again this year :( the kitchen cabinets were nice, but the porch's step problems had extended to further into the support of the porch. the water heater was not consistent... early on in our stay, after dinner and dishes, there was no hot waters for showers 'til morning. was not a problem later in the week.......

Our family of 5 had a lovely stay in the Tahoe Park area. The homes are very close to each other but it neighbors all seem pretty respectful. For the most part the home was very clean ... I do agree to Master Shower is gross so we simply didn’t use it (there is another shower). The hallways are dark but nothing a light or open door couldn’t fix. The best part was the Tahoe Park beach and park area ... our kids loved it. However, the Tahoe Park Association closed it to all “renters” the last 3 days we were there which was VERY disappointing since we paid for the house that gave us access. Very frustrating :( Hoping we can get a credit of some sort. Aside from that ... a pleasant stay was had by all. Thank you.

The Laird House was near perfect for our stay in Lake Tahoe for a wedding. We have two very active small children, and this cabin was the perfect combination of comfortable, cozy, and safe (and the Star Trek poster was a nice touch to the decor). It was easy to "baby proof" the few areas that needed it, and it being only one story saved us some safety worries. The backyard was nice to have, too, though we only used it for lunch one day since we had access to the lovely park besides the lake. The only complaint I had was that we had a partial power outage the day of the wedding, but Julie took care of us quickly and courteously, which was especially impressive on a Saturday. Also, please note that if you or your kids are scared of dogs, there is a dog bark alarm system to help keep away bears (easy to turn off, but definitely startling upon arrival).
Next time we're in Lake Tahoe, we're definitely going to rent the Laird House again.

We loved the property but wanted you to know that the railings on the front deck are falling down, creating a dangerous situation. The front outdoor furniture is also falling apart. We loved the house and the location and would definitely stay again but the front porch needs some work to make it safe.

This cabin had everything we needed for an exceptional stay in Lake Tahoe. Hot tub was clean and ready for our arrival, short walk to the beach & Firesign Cafe. West Shore Market has great sandos. Can't wait to come back.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Laird House. It's short walk to the HOA beach and really close to Tahoe City shopping. The property is on a quiet street and the interior is really cozy. This home has a ton of potential but the owners obviously don't care about it. The carpet is filthy, the bathrooms have mold in the showers, the beds are horrible and the management is rude and not helpful. I like the area because it is walking distance to Sunnyside, but the neighbors are not nice at all. It's really unfortunate because the house could be great if updated and clean and properly managed. Even the pool guy was rude when we asked if he would change the water in the hot tub since it was murky from the previous 2 families that used it. Seriously, gross!! Oh, the couches are also really uncomfortable. Just to leave on a positive note....they allow dogs :)

Overall this place was wonderful, lots of space, comfortable beds. Kitchen was stocked. Hot tub was perfect after skiing. Neighborhood is pretty busy, but i don't think we had anyone staying in either house next door. Property management company was responsive and very professional- would recommend!

We stayed in the Laird house for a weekend in late October and really loved the house.
Here were the awesome things about this house:
1. We saw a bear wandering around the neighborhood, which was a highlight of our trip.
2. The fireplace is phenomenal, and while we didn't start out with much wood, we were able to buy some more and keep the house cozy. We were also able to scavenge some good kindling from the back yard to get the fire started, since we were only supplied with large logs and no way to pare them down.
3. The location is quite great, and the market down the street had a great deli and breakfast. It's almost equidistant from North and South Tahoe, which opened up adventures at both ends of the lake to us.
4. The Hot Tub was great to hop in at the start and end of the day.
5. The kitchen had all of the things we needed to make some great breakfasts and dinners. Nice cast iron skillets, a coffee maker with ample grounds, a dish washer to make clean ups easy.
6. The rental company was very accommodating and shipped back a piece of electronics equipment which I left there.
There were only two 'negative' experiences with the house, neither of which sullied the trip on the whole:
1. Despite being quoted as a house for 8, we had trouble maintaining hot water with just 4 of us taking 5-minute showers. We ended up having to stagger showers quite a bit, and it seemed like a pretty big oversight.
2. There was some confusion around hot tub access, but once we got the rental company involved, the problem was solved promptly.
This wasn't important for us, but future renters should know that they are only allowed access to the 'private' beach on weekdays. This was not made clear to us until my card had been charged and were expected to sign a rental agreement, but I think others would appreciate learning this earlier in the process. Documentation inside the house said that the rule only applied in the summer months
