Very average stay. This is a motel with rooms access on the outside. Rooms are small and beds are only a double. For $200 a night, I expect a queen and breakfast with more options. Coffee was cold and no healthy options. I have never paid $200 for a motel in my life. For $100, I would not care about these services. Staff was friendly. Location was just okay.

Hotel is super located and staff is amazing all of them that took care of me in reception super helpful and friendly the even let our kids play in the lobby on a cold day for a while in a Living room they had at front desk. Room super clean and great parking space. Room could be remodel completely that the only negative side there are too old with wear and tear.

This hotel was super convenient to Sugar Mountain Ski resort and restaurants in the area. The staff was friendly and beds were comfortable. Definitely will stay at this hotel again.

Amazing location- close to Beech and Sugar Mountain. Staff was friendly and helpful, recommending several places to eat that ended up being amazing. Banner Elk is a cute little town with a good amount of things to do all things considered. The outside looks sort of run down, but the lobby was very welcoming and well kept. The room was clean and perfect for the weekend trip. The breakfast was standard for continental breakfast. The hotel was perfect for what we needed it for and we’d definitely stay there again if we made another trip up to the mountains.

If you have plans to go to Beech Mountain this hotel has the perfect location only 11 minutes away and the breakfast was delicious. I will definitely stay again!!!

We were taking a two day snowboarding trip; first day at Beech, overnight in banner elk, Sugar the two day. This BW was perfect for to hit sugar with little driving.

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was cozy, clean, and nicely decorated. They provided a pack n play for the baby. The service was great. Check-in and out was quick and easy. Breakfast was good.

Dated hotel no dining and breakfast is tolerable but your not missing anything if you go elsewhere. Unless you ski and there in January and February nothing much to do. Stonewalls for dinner is a must, it was the highlight. Very small mountain town very personable!

OK, compared to the photo I saw on the Internet and what I saw when I arrived was very different. However, to my surprise, it was great! I rented a suite and it was two seprate rooms. The first room had a pull out sofa bed with TV and bathroom. The second room of the suite had a bathroom and king bed. Since my wife's brother was with us, it was perfecr! I wish I could remember he name, but the lady at the front desk was so helpful sharing her knowledge of the area. I recommend this hotel to all. It is a little old, but I am older!

A wonderful experience. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was suprisingly adequate and staff was exceptional. Buildings are old but well kept. What a great value! The room was considerably less than competition.

Most places are not concerned with going above and beyond anymore but that is not the case at this location! They were kind, efficient and helpful! They promptly checked us in, called us after check in to make sure all was acceptable in our room, the location is convenient to the sights we wanted to see in each town, and upon check out, the staff was again fabulous! My sentiment was shared and also expressed by the person beside me checking out saying his experience there every time was above his expectations and looked forward to his visit every time. Thank you for adding to the positive experience we had in Banner Elk!

All was good except the carpet. It was stained and very old and worn. Breakfast was the best we’ve had in any hotel and the beds were very comfortable.

This lodge is a glorified motel, and the descriptions painted it in a better light than what reality reflected. The rooms were modest and a bit outdated, breakfast was repetitive and substandard for the price per night, and the staff berated an adult for trying to fill their cup with juice after the concentrate had emptied (only water was coming out and this was apparently unacceptable). Aside from this incident, the staff was friendly. If the price per night was around $110, this review would be skewed more positive with regard to the accommodations.
