Had a great stay at Outrigger

The staff tried, but we were disappointed in all the bureaucracy to do anything. For example, to visit the spa you have to make an appointment and go to one place to pay and then another for service. Also, on the day of checkout you can’t charge anything to the room because all the restaurants etc. are subcontractors. Nice resort, but we won’t be staying at an outriggers again because everything was made too difficult.

The resort is beautiful. I was upgraded to an ocean view room and at night, I could see the southern cross in all its glory. Kind people. Their Fiji program was lots of fun. My only complaint was the water is not drinkable. We had to buy water. Otherwise it is a great place. It seems like a great place for families, with activities for kids with kind Fijian activity leaders.

I’ve never been in a resort or hotel with staff like here. They’re all amazing. They made us feel like we were the only ones there and their sole focus.

We got an ocean breeze bungalow and it was amazing. The butler that came with was courteous. It took the butler 2 and a half days to track us down, but once they did it was nice. If you are doing a lot of activities around Fiji, I would not recommend this place. It is an hour or two away from the port where all of the activities are. The diving shop at the resort is out of commission as well, even though it's listed as active on their website. The main building is also under construction so it's not as pretty when you first walk-in. The food is decent but nothing special.

The staff was amazing! The friendliest hotel I have ever stayed at. They all went out of their way to accommodate us. Well done Outrigger!

It is one the best place we have travelled with family. Very close to beach, nice swimming pools and very helpful & polite staffs. Overall Outrigger Resort is a great place for relaxing family holiday.

We had a fabulous stay at the Outrigger Resort. All the staff are so friendly and remember your face. They will help you with anything you need. All you need to know it that this is a Cashless resort. The shops take cash but all resort facilities get charged to the card on your room. This did not bother us but would have been nice to know before we went.

Stay at 3 of the big players and this was the best out of all 3. Kids love it and said it been the best motel they have stayed at. ( we tavel weekly for work and stay in motels)

The only thing to complain about was we had no water on arrival and no complimentary water throughout the stay....we had to keep going to Jack's to buy water.

Excellent hospitality. Peaceful environment.

The staff were all so warm and welcoming. The room was clean and very comfortable with a great view of the resort. I had a massage at the spa which was amazing. The Bebe spa has a stunning view in a beautiful setting. The entertainment on Fiji day was a lot of fun. The whole resort had everything we needed. Thanks to the wonderful staff at outrigger. We have such fond memories of our stay.

The people at this resort are the friendliest you will find anywhere in the world. They are genuinely happy to see you each day and go out of their way to accommodate any request. The resort is super quiet and family friendly. Definitely not a “party” place. Everything pretty much shuts down by 10pm. They resort offers tons of activities each day to learn more about Fiji and their customs and also silly fun things that everyone love, like frog races. Definitely a great place to stay. 10/10

The facilities were great and very family friendly. The food at all venues was also great, but the very best thing - the happy staff!

We just had a great 4 days at Outrigger Fiji, we can’t ask for more!

Staff are terrible- non responsive and obviously tired of dealing with the guests. Especially the case at the two on-site restaurants.

I liked the hotel. However it was undergoing a lot of renovations. I was only notified that one restaurant was under Reno…but turns out the whole hotel was getting work done. Didn’t afffect me much but I didn’t like that. Also I was expecting a higher star quality stay. It wasn’t. It should be comparable to the Raddison blu or Sheraton … it was not. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Food was great. The room I stayed in had poor quality beds. Especially the sofa bed which we needed. It was bad.

A bit pricey but worth it. Buffet breakfast extensive and other restaurants had various different menus to cover all
tastes and they all were able to make gluten free meals for
my wife. Chefs very helpful and staff very friendly knowing my name after a visit to each place.
Adults only pool next to the buffet bure with swim up bar
was terrific with a lap pool as well and the water was warm. Golf buggies can take you from one end of the large complex to the other if you need it.
It had 24 hours reception noting we had to check out at 5.00 am to catch a flight which worked well. Could not check in till 2.30 pm as we arrived at midday.

We were given an upgrade but it was actually a downgrade to one of the old style rooms which is well well well overdue for refurbishment which they are doing at the moment but I would’ve preferred the room we are booked also for cleanliness smell and comfort (we wanted two double beds and we were given in our “upgrade” a king and a rollaway which had a wheel missing so it was creaky uncomfortable and lopsided) however the staff were a delight they were all very friendly but once they found out who we were travelling with, they were very accommodating above and beyond before that it was fairly so so which is disappointing for how friendly the staff all were and I feel this made our trip a bit better. The staff are obviously well looked after by the outrigger which I believe is the reason they are all round more friendly then other resorts we have stayed in the past.

We had a large group take 5 rooms - total of 15 people. Rooms were all ocean view - the top 2 floors of the buildings. View from some rooms is better than others, because of the height of the palm trees. Rooms were a split of king beds and bed settee, and 2 queens. Over Easter room servicing was variable, but was up to par when weekend over.
Parts of the hotel are under renovation with one whole block out, along with the large buffet restaurant area. Alternative areas have been re-assigned to take over.
The area most in need of upgrade is the adult pool and surrounds. The furniture is worn and cushions need replacement, as does the poolside decking. The area is lovely and quiet, but the main pool and surrounds are currently superior.
We had a fabulous time catching up, and made the most of the amenities. The staff were lovely and made the experience memorable.
Would I rate it a five star property - no. As it stands right now, it is more 3.5 star. It will be interesting to see the rooms after the upgrade. Grounds are lovely - well manicured and tidy.
There is an option to have a meal plan, but we went with the a la carte. There are dining options outside the resort, just a short drive/cab away, or you can potentially walk along the beachfront. Plenty of choice onsite also.
We had 2 birthdays in our party during our stay, and the staff went out of their way to make them special.
Disappointing that Expedia and/or the Resort did not mention/flag the eligible VIP upgrades.

Although the property wasn't perfect, the staff were all fantastic to us all.

I had the pleasure of staying at Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort and I must say, it is truly an unbelievably beautiful resort. The rooms are decently sized, but don't expect modern decor. The bathrooms are a bit dated, however all acceptable. The staff is super friendly, greeting you with a friendly "Bula" every time you cross paths. The beach is stunning, but don't compare it to those in South Thailand as it has its own unique beauty. If you're looking to swim in the sea, I recommend doing so in the morning when the tides are still high. Overall, the resort definitely lived up to my expectations and if given the chance, I would come back without hesitation. Thank you to the staff for making my stay so memorable.
Vinaka!

The hotel has many free and pay activities you can join. Also has an excursion counter where you can join local tours. When high tie, we can kayak and snorkel in the beach, many beautiful corals. Staff are nice and helpful.
BUT do not use the hotel air transport !!! They used a company called Tewaka. We booked through Expedia’s email and they replied that driver would hold a sign with my name waiting in airport. Turned out he was not there. We asked a staff in the airport and he negotiated a price for us with taxi driver. It is Fjd 140 or US$70. When I arrived at the hotel, I booked in the Tewaka counter there for my niece who would arrive from Sydney the next morning. Again, they did not show up in the airport !!!
On our day of departure, we booked a van for 7 of us. Again, the third time, there was no sign of our van !!!! The cost has charged in our ledger though ! Hotel staff called the company and after half an hour, hotel porter drive their 7 people car to take us to the airport. Luggages have to sit on our lap. Hotel airport transfer is FJD 165. There are plenty of yellow taxi outside the airport and price is FJD 140 or US$70. You agree a reprice with the taxi driver before boarding. They accept both currency. DON’T USE THEIR HOTEL AIRPORT TRANSFER !!!

Loved everything about the property. Wish they had upgraded us to a better room. May be next time.

Needs a major overhaul. Dirty and worn furniture, mis communication between staff with an hour long wait for breakfast and lunch. Would NOT recommend
