Loved staying at Yuen Onsen Shinjuku. Cleanliness of facilities are great. Onsen on top of hotel is nice to have.

It was too dusty.

A walkable distance to subway lines and the Shinjuku business area. There are several convenience stores around. All the staff we met are very friendly. We especially enjoy the hot spring on the top floor. It's a satisfying experience staying here.

On the edge of Shinjuku busy area. Good thing about this is it is quiet compares to the crowds and unsafe in Shinjuku 歌舞伎町 area. Then a little walk from the train / subway stations about 15 mins is needed everyday. I would still count it convenient. 7-11 and Family Mart just across from the facility. And 5mins walk, there is a York food supermarket, price is good. Hotel is very welcome and comfortable. Onsen at the top floor that I used every morning. Hotel staffs are super helpful and polite, this includes the front desk and cleaning staff. Definitely will stay again.

Twin rooms are really small for 2 people. Even by typical Tokyo standard. At least 10 minutes walk to all Metro/JR stations.

Beautiful rooftop onsen! It is about a 20 minute walk from Shinjuku Station, but there are other bus stops and subway stops closer.

Very nice place, affordable price, decent location, smelled a great, washer and dryer were great, room was small but I knew that going in and wasn’t too bad if u organize ur stuff. My only faults were the elevator took forever especially during check out and as a foreigner with tattoos I picked this hotel cuz it had an osen. I figured a hotel would be cool with that since they deal with foreigners 24-7 but nope couldn’t use osen because of my tattoo and I have bigs too hard to cover up.

Beautiful property, a relaxing retreat after long days of exploring! The room is small, but the two of us managed. Onsen was lovely.

Very beautiful hotel with onsen. The room is small, but its got everything that you need to enjoy your stay. Would definitely go again.

The hotel is pretty but we found it to be too crowded to enjoy some of the offered amenities. The on-site onsen is a lovely though but it is a revolving door of guests coming in and out and it felt like the facilities were sort of dirty. Our room was not bad but we found it to be quite small for two people and there was not really anywhere to store or put our clothes. The positive of this hotel is the lovely staff who was helpful and kind the entire time. Also the morning breakfast is pleasant.

The staff were really fantastic and helpful. Breakfast was really good. Easy to walk to the bustle of Shinjuku but not be right in the middle of it.

As many reviewers mentioned, this hotel is located about 10 minutes away from the closest metro stop (Marunouchi Line - M10 (Shinjuku Gyoemmae)). The metro stop is small, but accessible to a number of tourist attractions. The hotel is also about a 15 minute walk to the heart of Shinjuku.
We loved our stay here; the onsen was a highlight after walking nearly 8-10 miles a day. We could relax, take a nice warm bath, and decompress from the tourist activities we had done that day.
Additionally, as many people mentioned too, the hotel is right across from 7-11, making it very easy to grab a quick bite to eat. Highly recommend doing the traditional Japanese breakfast at least ONCE during your stay at the hotel. It's beautifully presented and filling, but is just more costly than picking up a quick onigiri or sandwich from the 7-11.
There are laundry and water facilities on floors 5, 10 and 15. The onsen is located on floor 18, I believe. Our only complaint was that the rooms are just slightly tight. We had 2 adults, and one child, in a queen/king size bed futon, and we were hopping over our luggage and other things. It wasn't horribly inconvenient, but it was snug compared to other hotels we stayed at in Japan.
Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay here. My 8-yo daughter said it was "the best hotel we stayed at during our trip" so overall, we were pleased with the accommodation and overall ease of the hotel location and facilities. Thank you so much for a pleasant stay!

Clean, quiet and modern. Staff were extremely helpful. I will recommend this hotel to anyone I know who is visiting Tokyo.

Really lovely hotel, beautiful and serene. About 8 minute walk to the subway and 10 minute walk to cool nighttime hangouts.
Not large but very comfortable and felt luxurious. The rooftop onsen was absolutely perfect in the evening and it was a spa-like vibe.

Wonderful stay, nice ryokan onsen style with a nice onsen on the rooftop. Rooms are super small but overall slept well

Liked the hotel, the room was on tje small side, wish I could have upgraded, but there was no availability so definitely a popular hotel. Area was ok, you have a few restuarants on the same road as well as a Seven 11 shop opposite and Family Mart down the road, which is very convenient. Onsen was lovely, I went once and it was very relaxing. We also had the Japanese breakfast and I loved that experience and thought it was reasonably priced. Only two things i would change- the ability to check in earlier (even if you have to pay) qhen you have been travelling for over 15 hours and want to put your head down its really awful to be told you cant get in your room until 3pm. That said the staff tried to be as accomodating as they could. The other was that the staff were more multi lingual- there are a lot of foreigners at the hotel and a number of us struggled to get our points understood. Ending on a high though, I would stay again - it was walking distance (15 mins) to our main station Shinjuku

We stayed in 5 different hotels in our 11 days Japanese trip with two teenager, best Onsen for the trip. Quiet and convenience location. 15 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station while hotel location is in a quiet street. You can enjoy relaxing while not far from shopping area which is a plus. Only thing is this place booked up very fast. Make sure reserved couple months before visit.

Very close to metro stations, seven-eleven at the opposite of the hotel, it’s very private and cozy even if it’s in the middle of Shinjuku, the staffs are friendly and willing to help and the view from the onsen was magnificent.

Excellent location. Very clean. Laundry available at the building. Snacks in the room are great but very hard. Only tea no coffee available in the room.

Great modern take on classic ryokan (Japanese inn). The onsen on the roof is a great place to soak after a long day. Plenty of places to eat and grab coffee nearby including a 7-Eleven directly across the street. Subway stop is only a 10 minute walk away.

Hard to find at first since it’s in one of the tiny streets of Tokyo but is not hard to miss if you read labels. From entrance to check in process and daily cleaning, service was perfect! There’s a 7/11 right across for your basic emergency needs and quick bites. It’s approx 10-15min walk to the nearest train station but taxis pass by every now and then. Would stay again.

It was very satisfying and nice. It would have been better if the corners of the room were cleaned a little better.

Really beautiful hotel, very clean and extremely nice staff.
Our room was a bit small to our liking, particularly with large luggage, so we would recommend booking the larger rooms if you like moving around in your room.

Wonderful in every way. Only issue was we reserved on Expedia 4 adults and one child. They only had room for 4 adults as 10 was not a child to the hotel EXPEDIA did not have this information. Luckily they had an extra room we had to purchase. Travelers need to know this and EXPEDIA should have said this vs accepting age of 10 as a child

Upside: Very pleasant staff and efficient check-in and check out. Definitely great value for money and excellent positioning in a quiet part of Shinjuku but still close to the action.
Downside: The common area on my floor was a bit bashed up and in need of some remediation, and the same was true of the room. The tatami in the room had seen better days.

The hotel is really nice - it has a traditional feel to it - but was built recently so is modern and clean. It’s about 15 minutes walk from the main Shinjuku station. The rooftop onsen is quite small, but offers a great view! Rooms are small - but that is normal in Japan. We would recommend staying here!

I booked for a twin room for almost a week's stay. The stay was overall nice. Be warned, it is not close by to the Shinjuku JR station, but much closer to Tokyo Metro stations instead (5-10 min walk depending on pace). It was very convenient to have a 7-Eleven right across the street to figure out breakfast and anything you might have missed while packing. Rooms are much smaller than expected compared to American hotels. The only thing that was not good is that our room's blackout curtains had a gap behind it. By 5 AM, the sun was shining so bright in the room, and it disturbed our sleep quality. Besides this, I would recommend if they can fix that problem.

The hotel was clean and well serviced. Close to everything. The girls loved the onsen. Bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Rooms were very small and shower tiny. There was no where to eat in your room or communal area. Which was hard for a group of four.

Was walking distance to main Shinjuku and train stations. Nice eating places along path. Also, lots of 7-11 and Family Marts near by. And of course the Onsens are awesome!!

Booked a room with a view but the window where super dirty. A lot of waiting time for the elevator. Nice calm hotel and lots of cleaning machine with was great for traveler. 7-11 right in front with make it very convenient. Would recommend.

Lovely Onsen on a balcony although it does get busy. They brought us new Yukatas to wear every day and also Sakura-flavored snacks. Would definitely recommend!

A lovely Onsen in Shinjuku. As a single female traveler the only problem was that google maps took me through some interesting streets on my way to and from the Onsen. Check your routes and I would recommend staying on the main streets later in the evening.

Great view of Shinjuku, simple and clean. Closest station is a 13 minute walk from a small Shinjuku station, not the main one, so it wasn’t as convenient as expected. Some staff was very friendly and accommodating, others were not, and one girl was rude. Great onsen, though small and crowded. We had a large room with a bath tub, so the size was great. The air con was sometimes loud and the pillows were very hard.
