It was a good hotel with a good location. Both check-in and breakfast are in the hotel half a block or less away... which was weird, but not horrible. But it was a very good place to stay, and a good start to our vacation

It was very close to the main station and very convenient

Location. Staff. Facilities. Breakfast. Everything was terrific.

We have been upgraded to Monopol Hotel, which is in the next block. Room is clean. Location is superb, just next the Luzern station.

Our quad room was really nice and really modern. The location was good. The only weird thing was that there is basically no staff to receive or help guests.

Close to train station. Very noisy, squeaky floors. Loud noisy street below. No front desk. Had to check in a hotel next door.

It was too noisy at night.

Super close to the train station and lots of restaurant options in the area. The only downside is there isn’t front desk staff at this location regularly. We were told staff would be there until 8 pm, but when we arrived to check in at 7 pm there was no one there. The partner hotel is just around the corner and easy to access so it was a quick fix.

The staff are super helpful and friendly! :) enjoyed my stay in Luzern and at Hotel Alpina very much

The room was ok but did not have air conditioning. There were two oscillating fans, which was nice, but we needed some cooler air so we had to sleep with open windows. There are several bars in the area and a restaurant next door. People were smoking cigarettes and the smoke came up into our room. It was Saturday night and the bars were open until 4 am. I was awakened many times, even with the provided ear plugs, and after 3 am, I could not fall asleep due to the constant yelling and screaming of the men and women at the bars. They continued to yell until 6:30 in the morning. It was awful!!!! The shower tiles were covered with epoxy at some point but that was bubbling up and rust and mold were behind the peeling epoxy paint. I like a clean shower. It was a very noisy location so I do not recommend it unless you like to drink all night. It was very close to the historic bridge and that was why I chose it.

Found no breakfast provided, charged 50ch, way too high.

The hotel was well situated for convenience.

Hotel Alpina is a convenient and practical option for short visits of Luzern or for concerts at the nearby KKL concert hall. The rooms are spotless and the hotel is 2 min away from the railway station and is located in the center of the city.

The locations is great. However, the people around the Hotel not so much.
Too many people smoking, is like being in the 70's

I have stayed at Alpina many, many times. Now the reception staff is gone and I miss that. Also, could not get wifi to work in my room #33. Also, book in room had outdated info for wifi and no info on calling reception from my room. So I had to walk down the street again. 3 times went to reception, never did get wifi.... until overnight. It did attach sometime in the early morning hours. Very inconvenient since I was traveling the next day and needed to be able to reach the airline. Also, I like a washcloth in my room.

What a wonderful surprise to get an Upgrade to Monopol. The stay was very comfortable :)

Actually the room condition is not same as the photos shown on the website. The room is old, dilapidated and with bad smell. Two wash basins and a large mirror facing the sleeping bed. You have to go to another hotel front desk to check in because there is no staff in the front desk.

very noisy theres bars below it

Mattress not comfortable. Only one pillow provided per person. Noise from pizza joint. Entry to hotel one has to pass through pizza eating customers who were curious about people entering hotel. Saturday and Sunday nights were rowdy drinking customers. One can see on Monday morning whole street full of garbage and plastic bottles. Though near station and famous bridge, deserves 2 stars.
Convenient to catch our buses. Very inconvenient for elder people to go for breakfast in another hotel Monopol.

Room was large and relatively comfortable however there was no air conditioning in the room meaning you had to open windows which allowed the traffic noise in. Shower curtain was annoying and it was difficult to set the correct shower temperature on the mixer tap. No I’m site parking and as we were travelling with motorcycles, the local car parks would not allow us to park so on street parking was the only option which was disappointing. Roof top bar good but could be better. Overall, an expensive hotel for the quality.

The location is excellent. just on the opposite side of train station. very convenience for city walk and going to other area

The hotel is only 3 stars because of the location and the staff, everything else can be improved, bed lights switch are missing, and do not stay on the rooms that face the main street where all the restaurants and bar are, if you open the windows all the cigarette smoke gets into the room and it's disgusting.

Close to everything. And clean

Excellent location. Close to train station and a well-stocked grocery store. Room was very clean and spacious. Mattresses very comfortable Lockbox in room. Our room had a tub/shower combo, but our friends traveling with us did not — they didn’t mind at all. Friendly, multilingual staff at desk. A lift in the lobby.0

Perfect location for us (right next to station). We especially appreciate the reception staff. Very friendly, responsive, efficient and helpful. Didn’t expect much from a small hotel for a one-night stay but the service was a pleasant surprise! Highly recommend!

Hotel location is near the train station, convenient , hotel room is spacious and clean but it does not has air conditioning in the hotel room and the hotel is a bit old . Breakfast varieties are not enough.

The location is magnificent, the check-in and check-out operations are fast and smooth. Unfortunately I expected more from my room: it was totally different from what shown on the website. It was really old in furniture, bed and doors. Windows only were ok. The toilet and shower were in different spaces, with the need to go across the whole room to reach one from the other. Having one night only, all this didn't affect my stay... but, generally, I would prefer that the pictures on the website really reflect the reality: I understand it's not feasible to have a picture for each possible room available in a hotel, but really my room was too far from what shown and expected. Hence, the price/quality ratio was really too high

It's very close to Lucerne Central train station, 5 min walking.
Although there's not much facilities and the decoration seems a bit old, the room is very comfortable. Staff are nice.

Stay away. Under construction plus there is a night club on the ground floor. Instead of telling you about it, they leave some ear plugs in your room. The bass can be heard 3 floors up. Unacceptable

we were suppose to stay in Alpina instead we were being upgraded to Monopol Hotel. It was great location and love the view from our bedroom. Instead of staying 1 night we extended the night because of this upgraded. So blessed. But even though we didnt stay in Alpina the location is great too nearby to central station

Close to Lucerne Train station as well as supermarket. Good breakfast at the sister hotel next door. Small lift to upper floors. Fit 2 persons at a time only if with luggage. LOL. Anyway, better than none.

We booked Hotel Alpina, they upgrade us to stay at another hotel. Both location are very close to Luzern train station. The room is very large and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Everthing is good.

Hotel is located over several bars. It was extremely noisy till well past midnight. The next morning we asked to be moved to a room on the inside court and the hotel staff were able to accommodate us. We were moved to the sister hotel Monopol and had a very quiet and restful stay.

Great location near train station and central to everything.Front desk staff , Joy was a pure joy. helping with advice and directions.and even an extra fan for the room. Late September was unseasonably warm and remember the rooms do NOT have A/C. Breakfast was included and served next door at the Monopol, a sister hotel. (Rumor has it that the Monopol has a few rooms with A/C.

chose this hotel for convenience, close to the Geneva rail station. But thats its only virtue. The room was HOT HOT and with the windows open NOISY NOI SY . The windows were double glazed to keep the noise out but this trapped the heat in. With windows open there was barely any relief from the stuffiness in the room. With windows open in came the nose from passing traffic. No air-con nor even a fan.The room had been redecorated recently. & might even win a design competition for aesthetics but not fit for habitation by human beings. The wooden bed frame had perfectly formed square corners sticking out beyond the mattress.... taking the skin off my shins walking around the space between the bed and the wall.Flat screen TV with dozens of “international ” channels EXCEPT that not one single English language channel was obtainable Next the electrics.... Switzerland depends substantially on tourism.... especially hotels . You would think that by now the managers would realize that nobody from overseas has an electric plug or adapter which fits the the Swiss electric sockets which just have to be different to the rest of Europe. They could at least provide one socket of common EU standard or the two flat pins ype used in USA and Asia …. but no!A fridge in the hotel room......... Forget it. get used to drinking water at 30 degrees C. I changed hotel after the first night losing the next days pre-paid hotel charges. Be warned.
