The location was very nice. The rest, not so much.

The home was infested with thousands of black flies when we arrived. We called to complain right away and the next day a maintenance person came out and brought us bug spray and advised that the home needs to be fumigated. We could not use the bed room with the bunk beds, nor the bathroom on that side of the house, nor the laundry room. We had to leave all the interior doors shut on half the home. We could not prepare any food in the home as we were battling flies. We were uncomfortable sleeping for fear of breathing in the bugs. We complained and heard nothing from the property management company. We tried calling several times and were told local management would get back to us and they have never called us back. Thus, this spoiled our first time at Smith Mountain Lake. Not worth the cost.
