Beautiful location. Price. Clean.
No on-site food establishment during off season.

Had a view of the water and the breakfast was good.
It’s &-9 miles from Baddeck with no other facilities around so you couldn’t go out for a walk around for a beer without driving. We had only lukewarm water for showers. I mentioned this to the owner and he promised to fix the issue.

Great location overlooking the lake. Reasonable sized room.
No smoking in other rooms. So close together that you couldn't escape it
Didn't like hairdryer above the sink - dangerous.

Very clean....did not disturb....very friendly
Perhaps the walls are little thin...noise factor but not too bad...

Big clean rooms , nice location and good breakfast in a nice dining room with a beautiful view
The dock on the lake should have a ladder on it - as the day we were that we were told we could swim but as it was soon after a heavy rain the shore had flotsam etc blocking the shore and it was hard to climb up the dock 🙁

Travel motel has excellent view, courteous staff, and is an excellent value
It would have been much better if we were not traveling with our children

Beautiful lake view from my room. The entire place is clean and beautifully kept!
The first night of my stay there the restaurant was only open for takeout when I would have rather eat in but that was a situation all thing not a regular occurrence.

Scrambled eggs at breakfast were overcooked and bland.

The rooms were great, clean and comfortable! The property is spectacular with beautiful views of the water, great decks for sitting out back and an amazing clean pool! I would definitely come back and highly recommend this property to everyone.

The location was great, the view of the lake was very nice.
We found that the rooms were a little musty/damp smelling but they were clean and we were only there for one night.

The family who ran this were lovely and helpful. Clean freshly painted, great breakfast

The lodge had just opened so breakfast was individually ordered from a limited menu but it was well cooked and staff friendly and helpful.
The weather was cooler than expected but good heaters in rooms and extra blankets, so we were comfortable. Host can’t fix the weather and they certainly were prepared, so nothing to say that’s negative about the situation.

Staff were very friendly and if you required something extra it was no prolem
I would like to have some kind of private screen for each room maybe some lattace to divide your space on the deck. Would be nice if the restaurant would serve more meals in the future.

The room had nice furniture and a comfortable bed. We had a nice view of the lake from our room. They were able to provide me with a gluten free breakfast.

Large, comfortable bed. Comfortable pillows. Room seemed clean. Shower water pressure was good. Also, the cook called in sick for the next morning and the owner very kindly gave us a generous Tim Hortons gift card instead!
The bathroom was dated (shower curtain should be replaced as it had stains, and one of the towels was covered in old mascara stains). Otherwise, there were just some personal safety concerns that would make me wary of staying here if I was a solo traveller. Obviously this was not the fault of the owners, but when we checked in they said we were the only ones staying there the night as we were visiting during the off season. To our surprise, when we parked at the entrance of our section of the motel, there was a large white truck there, running its engines with its windows down, with two men smoking weed. We thought maybe they were using the laundromat or something, but they actually stayed there for four more hours, still with the engine running. That seemed a little shifty, it did not seem like they were guests. There was no lock on the main door to the building, just a lock on each individual room. Also, the doors are old wooden doors, just with a door lock and a deadbolt, but could easily be broken. Further, there were no peep-holes in the doors, such that we couldn't see who was knocking on our door at 9:30pm (it was the owner, but we could only rely on him telling us who he was as we didn't want to open the door). Obviously these are coincidental things that all happened at once, but I would be concerned as a solo traveller staying here in the off season. Otherwise, a decent stay for the night.

Amazing room, very spacious and clean, nice decor, felt homey. Very big bed that was extremely comfortable! The owner was absolutely amazing, such a kind and welcoming person! I was on a crazy schedule and had to get up in the middle of the night, he was so accommodating, made me breakfast before the fiducial time started, he really helped me out and made my stay amazing! Would absolutely recommend!

Breakfast was lovely, Mac did a great job, rooms were lovely and clean and warm.
It would have been good to have told me when I booked that the restaurant on site was closed for renovations, not when we checked in, this time of year there was very little around to get something to eat.
