Amazing location. Really cool to stay in the historic part of town. Loved it. Perfect for family.
Rooms need an update, but still decent. Map handouts were confusing to get to the room.

I loved the location and how close it was to merchant square. It’s a beautiful colonial little neighborhood.
Honestly the room itself was a bit of a letdown. It just felt like a dressed up motel.

It was close Right out the front door your adventure begins. Loved all the History!
The Tavern room 3079 was very small it shows you a colonial house that has rooms in the bottom & upstairs no where did it say upstairs it state’s ground floor 1 double bed not comfortable at all (old) not sound proof heard the doors open & shut all hours A Hotel room is bigger Nice hot water& shower though. Stay at the Lodge or hotel

Wish the price could have been a little lower.

The Colonial Tavern, the history, it’s around everything
Sheets had something crusty on them, tv didn’t work- maintenance fixed it then broke again. (English and Spanish spoke over each other ) , windows were cracked in several areas and I rubbed the crack to see if it was on the outside and cut myself, the entrance/exit in the back- someone locked it from the outside and we couldn’t get out.

we did not partake of breakfast or coffee. Our stay this time was a before and after visit to new great granddaughter in North Carolina. We tried two restaurants that weee new to us and they were great… Not easy to find which are open on a Monday/Tuesday
Bathroom cold..

uncomfortable, ( beds were ok but the rest of the space was cramped and the seating terrible) the rug between the beds kept buckling and shifting). impossible to regulate the temperature to a comfortable level

The Location was great especially being closer to my favorite tavern "King's Arm" we ate there. Highly Recommended. The main hotel where the guests check in and out is absolutely beautiful. 💯 with the amount of money spent, I should have stayed there instead of a house... but it's part of the experience I guess.
The rooms could have been more welcoming and warm maybe with antique look area rugs, and could have been more functional as far as where to put our things. For example there were no enough shelves or room in the bathroom to put our essentials.
Unless the hotel wants to keep it as 1700 era as possible, A carpet on the steeps and Hallways would be something to consider. It will keep down lots of noises from other guests and personnel.. definitely should have paid way less since we weren't in the main hotel which it's more worth it the money spent.

Loved the fact you could go back to the room and rest then be right back in the middle of everything by walking out the door! Such a cool experience!
Room was adequate size but a little small for two adults but no big deal. Part of the experience

We were under the assumption Booking.com had booked us a room on the first floor. We were booked in a second floor room. I have knee and hip issues and it was uncomfortable for me to have to transition the stairs each time we entered or left the room.
