Beautiful, serene and so relaxing.

The villa is pure luxury, everything you could possible want for a relaxing holiday. Every possible way has been made to ensure fantastic views of the sea and wonderful laid out gardens are there for all. Steffi and Alex are fabulous hosts constantly working to keep the complex clean and looking its best. The bonus was a lovely bottle of bubbly on our arrival which set the tone for what was a beautifull time at Quinta Golfinto.

If youre like me and have an automatic car and ride a motorcycle the steep road to the villa is a challenge but nothing that can't be mastered.

Unique paradise near Calheta

We had an absolutely marvelous week at Quinta Golfinho. This little paradise lies hidden on the cliffs between the banana palms. On (15 min) walking distance of the harbor of Calheta. We loved (the herbs from) the garden, the cleanliness and comfort of the apartment, the nice bathrooms and showers, the amazing view at the sea, the dolphins in the distance, and the warm welcome+restaurant suggestions of the owners. Some practical comments: the owners invite guests above 10 years, very nice for couples/friends without kids, and also a good thing since not all terraces and sidewalks are toddler proof. We also loved the stylish musquito nets in front of the bedroom and side windows (even though the place was surprisingly low in musquitos anyway). It is all designed very clever and with good eye for detail. In our apartment the bedrooms are behind eachother, but in case you are with two couples; your bathroom is connected to your room, so no problems with nightly toilet breaks. And with 10 steps outside, you are in the living room without waking up anyone else.

Everything is perfect, and the pictures dont lie at all. There are comments on the road in some reviews. Indeed, the road to the premise is quite impressive the first time, but after one drive, you will see that it is really nothing to worry about. And the hidden spot, even though just a minute away from the main road, makes it totally quiet and serene. There are enough well sized parking places for all apartments. Perhaps, if it is possible, a bit more leveling out the driveway at the bottom would make the parking even more convenient, especially on your first day adapting to Madeira roads and rental car.

Very pleasant stay in luxurious hotel

Very nice apartment in a quiet location with a beautiful garden and ocean view. High level of privacy. Everything was perfect and I would stay in the same apartment again without hesitation.

Contemporary Apartment with a stunning view

Stunning views, very well equipped, contemporary apartment. Steffi was really friendly and helpful.

The approach to the property is by a very steep track which is poorly maintained. One taxi driver was reluctant to attempt it and dropped us off at the top of the track. The path leading to the apartment is unfenced and has a drop of several metres- we would have felt a lot happier if the rail at the start of the path was extended. While the bathroom has a fantastic shower and also lovely fittings it has an open aspect where the toilet is surrounded by glass and is open to the top of the stairs.

Peaceful,comfortable and spacious apartment in a sunny location

Modern, comfortable and clean, spacious apartment .Well- equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. This apartment is in a peaceful location with amazing sea and coast views in one of the sunniest areas of Madeira. Private outside areas, interesting gardens and the communal pool area is well maintained with views over the sea .There is also a stunning sunset lounge with a swing seat and comfortable chairs to watch the sun go down The accommodation is within 5 minutes drive of a large supermarket and several good quality restaurants and the host can arrange for daily delivery of fresh bread. Steffi is a very friendly and knowledgable host and replied quickly to messages before our arrival. Excellent directions from the airport too. Would highly recommend

Not a criticism, but a car is really necessary to get the most out of this property.

Terrific spot

Steffi en Alex are wonderful hosts. They are always friendly. The appartments are really nice and everything is in a good condition. The view over the ocean is outstanding. We loved everything!

Good

The location on the island in Arco de Calheta was great and it was easy to explore the whole island from there. The property has an amazing view and the Sunset Lounge in breathtaking. The apartment (the big one with two bedrooms) has a privet deck with a table, chairs and a lounge area, which is super nice and it has an amazing view of the ocean. The apartment is very spacious, the two bathrooms are very nice and seem to be rather new. We received a delivery of fresh baked goods every morning for breaktfast (extra costs) which was great as well. The hosts were nice. The herb and flower garden is nice as well.

WIFI did only work in the living room and the first bedroom, there was no reception or WIFI in the second bedroom in the back. Even in the living room, the WIFI wasn't strong enough to do Zoom or Teams calls with multiple people and use the video. The street down to the property is wild - it is super steep and not well maintained (big holes and steel coming out of it). First time going down and up was an experience of a lifetime (not really in a positive way). We had a bigger car, so it was difficult to park in the provided parking spots. We only had 2 rolls of toilet paper when we arrived, when we asked for more, we were provided with some, but were told, that it wasn't included. We showed them the description on booking.com, which clearly stated it was included - their reaction was "oh we didn't know that it was stated on booking.com". I wouldn't recommend the property if you have small children: the path from the parking spot to the apartment was not secured with a barrier, so it is easy to fall down - the high difference is several meters. Good to know: there is no cleaning service during your stay and also no fresh towels - I feel like you should be provided with new towels at least once during a one week stay for this price. There were no toiletries (e.g. shampoo, lotion, etc.) provided.

The location on the island in Arco de Calheta was great and it was easy to explore the whole island from there. The property has an amazing view and the Sunset Lounge in breathtaking. The apartment was overall great, spacious and had a beautiful view over the ocean and a banana plantation We received a delivery of fresh baked goods every morning for breaktfast (extra costs) which was great as well. The hosts were nice. The free WIFI is great. The pool looked good as well, we didn't use it since it was too cold outside.

The street down to the property is wild - it is super steep and not well maintained (big holes and steel coming out of it). First time going down and up was an experience of a lifetime (not really in a positive way). The apartment has huge windows (from the ceiling to the floor) an no shades or any sort of blinds to give some privacy. There were workers in the banana plantation on the first morning and they could directly see onto the bed and watch us change our cloth. The bathroom also gives no privacy, the toilette is surrounded by glass, so everyone in the apartment (even from the terrace) can watch you minding you business. Maybe that's cool for some people, it wasn't for us. When we talked to the owners about it, they told us, they liked the open concept an they saw no reason for shades or blindes. We only had 2 rolls of toilet paper when we arrived, when we asked for more, we were provided with some, but were told, that it wasn't included. We showed them the description on booking.com, which clearly stated it was included - their reaction was "oh we didn't know that it was stated on booking.com". One of the steps was broken and losly repaired with a wooden block - it should be fixed properly. The bed was super hard, but that's a personal preference. If you are taller, you will have to move the bed from the wall, since there is a little attachment right at the end where you will hit your head otherwise. Good to know: there is no cleaning service during your stay and also no fresh towels - I feel like you should be provided with new towels at least once during a one week stay for this price. There were no toiletries (e.g. shampoo, lotion, etc.) provided.

Luxury apartment with exquisite ocean views

Amazing views and vast outdoor spaces, fabulous apartment and spotlessly clean. Cushions provided for outdoor furniture, fully stocked kitchen and very friendly and helpful owners. Thanks Steffi and Alex!

Perfect location to enjoy Madeira

Wonderful relaxing time, one of the best places we have ever stayed.

Beautiful place, really stylish and classy. Very clean. Also a good pandemic destination as you are tested for Covid at Madeira airport and rates of infection are as a result very low to non existent on the island. The hosts provide you a delicious food parcel while you wait for the result of your test (it took about 10 hours) - in the time you just don't leave the apartment but you have your own outdoor space with an amazing view.
