Lovely old building in good location when staying in Colaba.

Okay but wouldn’t recommend

Location was the main advantage. If you go to the restaurant for dinner or lunch the food was excellent. The breakfast was mediocre

Mediocre breakfast. Rooms small with A/C hard to control. No common spaces to relax outside the room.

Excellent 😆

Everything was excellent. The problem was when we had to enter the bathroom. I had to turn around and close the door then turned around again for the toilet.

An ok hotel marred by poor check in experience

The room and facilities were clean with decent options for room service food.

A fairly decent hotel marred by a poor check in experience and over zealous front desk staff. My brother and I arrived, exhausted after a long flight to attend a family funeral. We arrived very early on an overnight international flight so had to temporarily stay overnight at a relatives place. At check in time we went to the hotel to drop off our bags and planned to shower and rest a couple of hours before heading out. The front desk staff checked me in after asking questions about my visa status. Odd since I've never been asked this by other hotels in the past. Then they got to checking in my brother. Unfortunately he'd left his passport at my relatives place so he showed his legal photo id instead. The front desk person started arguing that they needed to see his visa status and could not check him in. We explained that we would be returning in the night and would certainly bring his passport at that time. He kept arguing that it was not valid and he couldn't accept it. Anyway we went to the room, dropped our bags and tried to rest for a few minutes. A few minutes later the phone rings and the same front desk person says that we cannot stay in the room until we provide his passport. I asked why and he said it's for "security reasons". He was completely inflexible on this and forced us to leave even though we were exhausted. I have never previously experienced such rude and poor customer service in any hotel in India and will not return to this hotel again. Please change your staff or retain them in basic customer service skills and empathy. He knew we were there for a funeral and were exhausted, yet refused to accommodate us for a couple of hours. To be fair it was mainly this one person and the manager. The rest of the staff were friendly and courteous for the rest of the trip. Also my booking experience with the hotel was confusing and took multiple calls too verify the room.

Very good

The staff were friendly obligingly and effective. The location was excellent, close to India Gate and shopping.

Being charged for bottles of water in our room, where tap water is undrinkable. Laundry service was expensive though very well done. When we asked about an airport pickup we were quoted 5000 rupees when a a taxi costs around 600 - 900 rupees.

Very good

Great location, AC worked well and very helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. I would stay there again.

Cockroaches in the corridor and bathroom. Even though Booking.com tells you that you have free cancellation, the hotel asks for payment within 24 hours of booking to avoid cancellation. Poor communication prior to arrival as they did not answer questions about taxi booking from the airport to the hotel. I travelled with two children and the room was a bit small once the extra bed was installed.

Nice heritage hotel at the heart of mumbai

The hotel is a heritage property at one of the best locations in mumbai. The gateway of india is just 5 to 7 minutes walk from the hotel and also it is very near to colaba causeway open market and some good cafes .The staff were very courteous and helpful especially Mr altaf in the reception desk. Very helpful in all aspects including arranging vehicles for sight seeing etc. We really loved this place.

Breakfast is above average, they can bring more varieties which is an area to improve. Cafe Havana was closed , hope this will be opened soon, there should be a good bar to hang out in the late evening. They should upgrade the rooms with more amenities like mirrors in the room etc

best place to stay in Mumbai

Best location, just next to Gate of India and Taj Mahal hotel but in the same time more or less on the quiet street. Breakfast is good Everything in the room is very old but VERY CLEAN, i saw stuff was cleaning each days doors, elevator and other parts of hotel

At this moment there is renovation of the house (work in progress from 08:00 till 18:00) but it doesnt disturb very much. Note: Taxi that Hotel offered was 2.5 times more expensive that Booking offered.

Noise from air condition of the reception space was unacceptable

Location

Noise from air condition (air condition of the reception space was situated in our own room!! ). The room has only one window, which would be fine, if it wasnt looking in the wall of the next building, at distance of only 1 meter! Therefore our room was not only noisy, but also dark and gave uncomfortable feeling being in such a space. The hotel had only one task - give us peace and comfort to sleep - which it didnt accomplish!

perfect place for a weekend in such a great city as Mumbai

location was excellent - few meters away from the gateway of India. staff was gentle and very helpful. room was clean and had everything we needed

windows were sealed - for smokers can be a problem even though we were allowed to smoke in the room since there is a very strong exhaust fan

Great location in Colaba and the staff were all fantastic! The breakfast wasn’t elaborate but there were enough choices to be satisfied and the quality was good. The beds are a little on the harder side, but I still slept well. The room had lots of space and was very clean. The common areas were also comfortable and well kept.

Colaba center

great location in the center of Colaba, but in a quiet back street, a few minutes walk to the Gate of India. Accommodating staff, they checked us in earlier than the standard checkin. Breakfast ok.

Great location, friendly staff, parking prob, too expensive

The location in Colaba is super. Everything is in walking distance. The waiters at the breakfast buffet were very friendly and helpful and fulfilled our wishes, e.g. preparing eggs in certain style.

Car parking is a greater challenge in Colaba. I asked at the reception for help. They wanted to send someone - but nobody came. We had to ask the second time ... WiFi was working on Android but not on Windows 11 notebook. Neither Reception nor it-specialist (on phone) could solve the problem. I would rate this hotel as Indian 4*, international standard: 3*

Great hideout in a top location in Colaba.

Great Hotel very close to the Gateway of India in Colaba. Nice Restaurant inhouse but also countless other options nearby. Catered us with food with a certain requirement which they absolutely fulfilled. Great staff. Perfect place to rest and refresh from a busy city.

Can't beat the location for the price

Amazing location, mere minutes from Gateway of India, and therefore ferries to Elephanta Caves. Close to great restaurants (highly recommend The Table!) and a very bustling atmosphere. The staff were also very kind, helpful and polite.

The decor and fittings are a little tired, but everything is clean and what you need.

Totally worth it and I would stay at thishotel again. Location can't be any more perfect than this!

Excellent location, very responsive staff, great food & quick room service.

They are very rigid with their room reservation policy and I felt it is better to book it directly through hotel versus an online booking. They sounded very strict with their policy in case of online bookings.
