We had a blast. The home was perfect for our needs. Very clean! Loved the check-in & out process. Only complaint is no firewood is provided for the guest. Everything else was perfect!!! Loved it!

Beautiful cabin, very clean and easy to check in with a code given to us. Cabin was so cozy and had everything we needed. It is a little smaller than the pictures but it was perfect for us since we were a family of 5. Location was perfect! We got to see wild horses and deer right outside the cabin! Our kids were so excited to see the animals. We were also super close to the winter park. The only issue we had is that we didn’t have a 4 wheel drive vehicle so we had to park by the driveway the first day. We had to shovel the snow in order to park closer. But the cabin stay was incredible! We had no issues.

Beautiful Cabin and location!
Beautiful cabin, very clean and easy to check in with a code given to us. Cabin was so cozy and had everything we needed. It is a little smaller than the pictures but it was perfect for us since we were a family of 5. Location was perfect! We got to see wild horses and deer right outside the cabin! Our kids were so excited to see the animals. We were also super close to the winter park. The only issue we had is that we didn’t have a 4 wheel drive vehicle so we had to park by the driveway the first day. We had to shovel the snow in order to park closer. But the cabin stay was incredible! We had no issues.

cabin was in the mountains with great views and amazing wildlife. The cabin was cozy and welcoming. Enjoyed the weekend relaxing in the hot tub and sleeping in a big comfy bed I will be returning and renting this property again if its still available

Great vacation, despite maintenance issues
Overall, we had a great time at this home. It was comfortable inside and very well stocked with kitchen items, bed/bath linens, etc. There are lots of friendly deer in the area and they come right up to the houses, which is neat for kids to get to see. The WiFi and cable worked great, making it convenient for entertaining during down times. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen was there, and there is a gas grill outside.
A few things that aren't readily available by the photos and listing details. 1) the neighbors are REALLY close and you can easily hear their conversations and they can hear yours. 2) the home is listed for sale and has some deferred maintenance issues, and we suspect they aren't fixing things up because they are selling the place. rotting deck boards, non-working hot tub, etc. 3) when we reported concerns (hot tub not working) it took emails and multiple calls and multiple visits to get someone to respond and fix it. They eventually did, but it took 3 days of our trip to get things done. 4) the key check-in/out descriptions aren't great, and took us a lot of time to figure out where it is and how to access it. When you park, you actually walk around the side of the house behind the garage, up to the 2nd floor patio and around the side of that to a sliding glass door, where the key is fastened to a lock box on the wall, at eye level. NOTHING like was described in the check-in email. And, anyone staying there needs to be very comfortable navigating stairs to access the property.
Despite all this, we made the best of it and had a great time. Not a blocker to booking, but thought it would be fair to point these things out for folks who don't get this info on the listing.

There were spider webs everywhere and just a general lack of attention to what the property looked like. There was also a for sale sign in the driveway, but that wasn't too weird.
Inside, it was more of the same. Though it was clean, the place reeked of the 80s. Old furniture, old TVs and it just looked like it hadn't been updated in decades.
If this place was cheaper, it would have been fine. But we stayed at a much nicer cabin in Angelfire a few nights later that the owners had put some effort into and it was much more reasonable.

The kitchen has everything you could possibly need in the way of pots, pans, utensils, and dishes. The bedroom upstairs is huge with a back patio and hot tub and a balcony out front. There is a huge deck in front off the living room dining room area with a large table and lots of chairs. The deer come right up to the house. The location is amazing if you like quiet and like to commune with nature. It is surrounded by forest and there is a beautiful little lake close by. We went on several hikes there. My only negative comment would be that the small front balcony upstairs and the big deck out front is badly in need of attention. The paint is peeling badly and there are boards that need replaced. The balcony did not feel safe. However, the big deck is still very serviceable.

covid getaway
When I booked this cabin, it was because it looked updated, had the amenities I wanted and was the right price. I was also looking to get away from people (due to COVID). The oven was broken when I got there and it took a whole day and multiple phone calls to get this resolved. The maintenance guy was extremely helpful but the management office was not very responsive and never returned my call. They came to replace the oven with an old, but working, model. The other oven was pushed aside next to the kitchen counter like an eye-sore. Having to be around people to fix the appliances kind of defeats the purpose of my stay. The hot tub was waaaaaay too strong on the chlorine. More so than most I've ever been in. The neighbors were very loud as well. Cute place, but I won't be staying here again.

The neighborhood and location were good but the house was in need of updates. The kitchen was stocked with pretty worn out utensils. The hot tub was nice but the jets would turn off after 10 minutes.

The cabin and the cleanliness was perfect. Pleasantly surprised we have used several Vrbo’s but never had one as clean and pleasant as the stay we had.

Beautiful house.
The inside of this property was beautiful. The inside was decorated amazingly! Took us two days to get there without getting lost...just because we didn't read the directions right. It is sad such a gorgeous place, but their house keeper only does what is necessary. Maybe I am too picky. I just thought she could do ALOT better job...ALOT BETTER! After that said, we loved the house in general. Thank you so much for letting us stay there.

Hot tub issues
We are sadly out of the cabin. Thank you for such a lovely cabin. The hot tub will not work though. This is a biggest part of the reason I picked this cabin. That and the location. I was keen on finding a cabin with a hot tub. It only worked the first night. The jets kept blowing the breaker. We did discover if you do not use the jets at least the heat part continues. We discovered that our last night. I hope the next people that are staying tonight are not as keen on a functional hot tub as I. My husband and I just finished a fundraiser that was back breaking work the day before we came. A fundraiser we put on every year for local families with cancer children. Knowing how sore we would be is the reason the hot tub was important this stay. Last year we came to Ruidoso just after and decided a cabin with a hot tub would be in order this year. The fundraiser however is a labor of love and the cabin was everything else I had hoped for. Even the highway did not bother me as much as I thought it would. I just worry about your next renters that they too will not be dissapointed. Thank you again.

Wonderful stay
Clean. Quiet. Extremely comfortable bed. Area teaming with deer. Makes for wonderful morning experience. My children counted 9 bucks, 2 does and 3 fawns one morning.

Wonderful Ruidoso trip!
The house was exactly what we needed after long days of adventuring! The rooms had comfortable beds, extra blankets, dressers. Bathrooms were well-stocked, too. Kitchen had all needed items. The master suite (and hot tub) was a nice retreat. Grill worked well, and many deer hung out in backyard. Overall, we had a wonderful visit and enjoyed the house and it’s location very much. Thank you!
