This cottage was great, it had everything we needed for the week. The river was nice and quiet and we all enjoyed swimming in it. I recommend bringing some inflatables to longer in the river with it. It was less than 10mins into town where we went to get groceries and stopped to get ice cream and really great funnel cakes! We had reached out to the host a few times and he was very responsive and helpful. After only being there for a few hours we all agreed that we would be booking this again next year!

Great host, lovely cottage, clean river - all in all a perfect spot for extended family. We found all the decks and seating areas great to enjoy and spread out. The bunkie with a bed for two was great for extra comfort for the parents of young kids.

We had so much fun! The river is lovely and warm. We had fun swimming and canoeing with little kiddos. Also biked into town (which is a trail for the whole trip) and got to watch boats going up and down on the locks and have ice cream. We had an awesome time and might try to stay again next year!

Stayed here with my family and was really impressed how clean and modern the inside of the cottage was! Every amenity was available for us to use and plenty of space to relax by the water or in the shelter of a gazebo. The river was clean and excellent for a dip. Overall we all had a great time and would definitely consider going back

We love renting this property! We have returned multiple times. The location is amazing, the cottage is clean and the owner is amazing. Always willing to answer any questions and help with whatever issues may arise.

We loved the water and being able to use the canoe and kayak. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.

We had a great stay at this property in the summer of 2022 with several young kids. The cottage was clean and comfortable but would note there was not a dishwasher as the listing indicates. A few details were left to us to figure out on our own (where to take garbage leaving, how to access Netflix or other streaming services), but the hosts were quick to respond to any inquiries. Overall we had a really nice time and made good use of the expansive lawn, canoe and kayak, and outdoor eating spaces. Was a week to remember!

We found Vasile’s cottage while searching for locations in the Kawartha Lakes area. The checkin process was very smooth and the property was clean with lots of extra pillows and towels for use during our stay. The gazebo was great for outdoor meals and everyone loved swimming in the river which was clean. Just note that some days the river can be a bit busy with boat traffic. There is one 2 person canoe and kayak available for use which we also enjoyed. We enjoyed nightly use of the fire pit and noticed there aren’t as many mosquitoes as there might be in other places. Very close to Fenelon Falls for day trips. Nice antique shops in town and lots of stuff for the kids to do at the Fenelon Falls Museum. Overall an excellent stay!

This is a lovely house. Very well stocked with every you could need or want for a cottage getaway. Lovely swimming perfect for kids and unexpectedly private waterside access for a river location. Host was excellent with communication when necessary and the house itself is comfortable and the property is everything you could want. Several seating areas outside and good shade and rain coverage. We would definitely come again!

Homey Cottage
This is a well equipped cottage for a week in the summer. Beds are comfortable and kitchen has everything you need to cook full meals for a family. There is no dishwasher but that's not a big deal. Canoe and kayak allowed us to enjoy the river. The water is clean for swimming (no weeds). Vasile is a great host and responds to messages quickly.

Very Enjoyable Stay
Very good March break cottage vacation experience. We were a group of two families with three children aged 12 - 14 between us. Very well kept property. Nice open spacious concept for the living, dining and kitchen area. We couldn't use the backyard as it was still filled with snow but we can imagine it being a fine place to enjoy on the banks of the Burnt River in warmer weather. Lots of little home decor gives the cottage a nice feel. Vasile, the host, was prompt and responsive in our communication.

Great Cottage…Poor Property Maintenance
My family and I had a great start to our trip! Initial communication was really great… messages were answered promptly and the check in process was excellent. The cottage itself is amazing! Pretty clean and lovely backyard that backs on to the river. However, my family and I were not able to enjoy the backyard because the grass was not cut and was way too long. On the first day there, my fiancé fell and sprained his ankle due to the long and uneven grass. My nephew also fell and cut himself. We couldn’t play sports or really enjoy any activity. The most disappointing part was that when I reached out to the property manager to tell him about our experience, he didn’t even respond!!! I messaged twice and didn’t get a message back. We payed a lot for this property and expected it to be maintained both inside and outside of the cottage. It’s a pretty good cottage, but make sure you ask him to cut the grass before your stay!

fantastic cottage
We had a great time at this beautiful cottage, which was the perfect size for two small families. Sleeping was super comfortable, with light air conditioning and a sun room that was great for evening cards. The property was very quiet, clean and easy to find. Access to the river right from the dock was amazing and the canoe was really fun. The bike trail nearby goes right into town where there is a great little beach and ice cream shop. Kitchen was well stocked. We had a great time and are leaving thinking that we'd like to come back! Thanks so much to the owners!!

It certainly wasn’t *perfectly* dark (the back yard was reasonably private for being facing a river, but we could see neighbors to the side and across the river), but it was certainly free from any significant community light pollution. It was a great place to watch the sky from. Compared to our trip to Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Preserve the same week, I wished I had stayed “home”. The sky straight up was easily comparable, and the crowds and noise at TBDSP made the backyard seem like paradise.

Lovely property on the river. Swimming was ideal for the grandkids and the lawn was large enough for all our needs.

There is a second refrigerator in the sunroom and a sign clearly stated we could not use it. Renters should be allowed to use it or it should be removed to make more room and allow a better view to the outside. The internet was weak.

The cottage was immaculate, clean and very spacious. The pictures do not justify the cottage. The backyard is beautiful - great dock, firepit, gazebo. Location is great - very close to Fenlon Falls. Vasile was a great help - always responds very quickly and answered all our questions. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed at this lovely property for a few days, and left with some great memories! The river is the perfect place to go for a swim, it was very clean and child friendly. Our 2 year old had a wonderful time there.
