This is truly the most beautiful place my family and I have ever stayed at. The interior is plush, pretty and comfortable- practically anything you could want and every detail thought through. The exterior is just a wonder. Views to die for in all directions- expansive water, trees, wildlife, flowers and magical faerie houses to discover. We made the most of the gourmet kitchen and the outdoor grill, played endless laughter filled games- and loved every second. To top it off, Ned is a delight to deal with and made everything so easy. We so appreciated our time there and can't wait to come back!!!

Everything about Soaring Eagle was perfect. The views, the stately lodge, every little detail was just what we hoped for. My friends were wowed and couldn’t stop talking about what a special place it was. And we saw a series of eagles flying right over the deck. Amazing!

Our party of six had a wonderful time at Soaring Eagle Lodge celebrating three 40th birthdays. Everything was so clean, the kitchen was very well appointed, and Ned is an excellent host. The views cannot be beat! Coffee outside every morning soaking it up was the perfect way to start every day. Highly recommend a beautiful getaway here.

I give my overall experience a five star rating! From the moment I inquired about the rental and getting to know the owner to the check out process. The owner, management and the caretakers of the property were amazing. The house is every bit as beautiful if not more so then the pictures. The master bedroom is perfectly located on the ground floor and in the back so when the night falls and the morning rises you get a front row seat. There is dear and chipmunks and rabbits, lets not forget hummingbirds, wait, did I mention eagles? The bathroom floor is heated and there is a soaking tub that overlooks the expansive yard. I don't want to tell all but I could go on for days. The kitchen was so well equipped that my gourmet brother who visited for a few days made some exceptional meals. The fire places were easy to use and ready to use when we checked in. This is a three bedroom home with a den that has a very comfortable convertible sofa as well. There are three fireplaces on the ground floor, a washer and dryer, and a gorgeous back patio. The den is loaded with puzzles and books. The home is huge but very cozy. We had dinner out two nights, Fraisers Gourmet and Captain Whidbeys, both excellent. This is a very private home, if you are interested in quiet and seclusion this place is amazing. My favorite part of this home is the landscaping, when you rent you will know why. Every day was another field trip into enchantment. Thank you Ned for sharing your amazing home. Oona

Soaring Eagle Lodge is one of the most perfect VRBO properties we have stayed at both domestically and internationally. The owners attention to detail and responsive communications provided total piece of mind.
Our group was multi-generational , one member had limited mobility and one had severe food allergies. The master bedroom and outside decks and property landscaping were perfect for assisted walking requirements. Because of one family members food allergies that precludes us from staying in hotels. THIS PROPERTY WAS THE CLEANEST AND MOST WELL APPOINTED KITCHEN YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE. While cooking all of our meals in the large fabulous kitchen and setting up alfresco dinning on the patio..... we could see the eagles flying by, boats navigating Skagit Bay, bunnies and fawns in the sky-blue hydrangeas , marvel at the exquisite landscaped yard, and enjoy the snow capped view of Mount Baker.
The décor was stunning, a perfect well balanced and tasteful nod to the Pacific Northwest without being too overdone nor detracting from the beautiful surroundings.
The VRBO photos are spot on, it is absolutely as good as it looks. ALSO......they have thought of EVERY detail and there are instructions/notes throughout the house so you just ease right into the experience. I almost hate to leave such a glowing review because that means that I will have to compete with the likes of all of you for prime spots on the calendar.....so be it.

Absolutely beautiful!! Loved the large kitchen which was equipped with everything!! Loved the beautiful yard for playing games, and the view is spectacular! Ned was so responsive and helpful with all of our questions. We enjoyed clam digging, boating and hiking near the lodge. The lodge had everything we needed. Watching all the eagles was an added treat.

Stop scrolling! You want to book Ned’s home, Soaring Eagle Lodge. This was by far the best house and best host I have ever had the pleasure of staying with. This location is unbeatable. The house is stocked with EVERY THING you could ever hope for. We felt safe, at peace and totally at home. This is a uniquely beautiful property. The views, the smell, the wildlife. I knew it was not easy to pick a vacation house for a group of eight people. I really appreciate Ned for helping me a lot.
First of all, we made the decision quickly based on the very attractive listing and reviews. When we once arrived, we just fell in love with the lodge without hesitation. Every group members found their favorite spots, enjoying private beach walks, birds watching, playing board games and cooking. Even we got back home, we still missed the stunning view of sunrise, of course the bald eagles family in the back yard.
Thanks Ned again for the smooth communication and the details! I already shared our wonderful trip with friends.

We enjoyed our week long getaway to Ned's gorgeous dream house on Whidbey Island. The view, oh my the view! Just looking out the huge wall of windows and seeing bald eagles build their nest out front of the house was spectacular. The great room fireplace is enormous. The kitchen is huge and stocked well. The owner was just a text message away with any questions. Winding down and relaxing for the week at Soaring Eagle Lodge Widbey was just what we needed.

The single shortcoming of my stay with my dearest friends at the Soaring Eagle Lodge this past weekend, was all my own making. Within 10 minutes of entering and touring the home and property that I had booked in 2019, I spent way too much time strategizing ways that I could return to this most perfect slice of heaven.
Here’s my story. In 2019 I booked the Soaring Eagle Lodge for April, 2020 in order to celebrate a significant birthday. Like you, I looked at the pictures over and over again, wondering in what ways this VRBO would come close to matching the photos and description.
You can guess what happened next. Covid! We delayed the trip to April, 2021. You simply cannot find a more gentlemanly gentleman than Ned Towle for dealing with the realities of life.
Days before the long awaited rescheduled trip, I finally got Covid! OK, now I will cut to the chase, so you will rent Soaring Eagle already on your preferred dates before someone else beats you to it.
Ned has gone above and beyond from our first interaction to our final email, making sure that my dearest friends and I had the dream vacation I initially dreamed. I have interacted with so many vacation rental owners over the years, but none so fine as Ned.
Seven of us showed up this past Friday and we were simply blown away by the beauty and perfection of every element of this rental. As advertised, the spaces were gorgeous and well appointed. The beds tremendously comfy. More than enough room for all of us. The setting on Skagit Bay, looking directly at the majestic tip of Mount Baker. Glorious water views. The hot tub. The abundance of eagles and other birdies. The exceedingly well appointed kitchen. There simply aren’t ways to do this rental justice. It was worth every penny.
I am trying to think of the next time I could possibly stay here, and I’m starting to realize that every birthday is significant, don’t you think?

This property exceeded expectations in every respect. The property is beautiful, the house is gorgeous, and the area is stunning.
The house is appointed well beyond the level of any typical rental home, and every need was already taken care of.
I rent a lot through VRBO, and without any exaggeration I can say that this property was the most well appointed of any that I have stayed in.
It is worth the price, and the experience will not disappoint.

We had a wonderful time at the LODGE. Ned is the best host and helped us from afar fix the cable in one room. We have stay in many houses and THIS IS THE BEST. BEDS COMFY, VIEWS WOW🌈🌈🌈🌊🌊🌊🌊⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️. The Kitchen was meant for chefs and had everything you could need as well as a awesome coffee and tea station. Yoga on deck was superb. WE WILL BE BACK.

From the gorgeous home, to the amazing views, to the entertaining animal friends, Soaring Eagle lived up to the photos and other top reviews! Ned was great to interact with and all his recommendations were spot on! As a person who loves to cook, the large gracious kitchen was a dream in which to prepare food!-- everything a cook could desire.
My husband and I were greeted each day out the bedroom window , with an amazing view of bay, mountains, and snow capped Mt. Baker! -- There were hikers in our group and could have hiked challenging, beautiful trails every day! Ned helped us with hiking choices too!
We also loved shopping and seeing the charming towns on Whidbey Island! Mostly we just loved hanging out and enjoying each other and the animal families. Daily we saw the eagle family, two different deer families and a raccoon family. Soaring Eagle made us feel pampered and was simply beautiful and relaxing!

We enjoyed our stay at the Soaring Eagle lodge. The name suits the place perfectly, we were able to witness a fledgling eagle take it’s first flight. WHAT A TREAT! Everything is supplied, the home is very clean and maintained. The hot tub was wonderful after a long day of hiking. The views are spectacular. We Love it! We will be back with family.

Soaring Eagle Lodge, Whidbey Island
We had the most wonderful and relaxing week with our family at Soaring Eagle Lodge. We had stayed here 11 years ago, before grandchildren and the entire property was just as beautiful, clean and fresh as we had remembered it to be.
Our group included my husband and myself, our 2 adult children and their partners and our two grandchildren, ages 8 and 5. There was more than enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably ( Iloved the sleep number bed in the master bedroom. The kids loved having space to runs around and search for items in the fairy garden. They also enjoyed all of the games, puzzles and movies!
We ended up cooking all of our meals in the very well equipped kitchen. Much better than trying to go out with a party of 8, including 2 young children. Most nights we ate outside, watching deer and soaring eagles.
Ned was an incredible host, before , during and after our stay. I truly enjoyed all of my communication with him.

Absolutely stunning
There are no words to accurately describe the house/property. So much thought and detail went into the house and the yard. The space was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The view is stunning from multiple places in the house as well as the yard. This property will now be our yearly vacation with family/friends. Ned was very responsive to any questions or needs. Very pleasant to chat with and easily accessible day/night. This place is a must!!!

The Lodge is everything it says it is. Beautiful inside, fantastic views, great kitchen that feels like you are on gourmet cooking show. The master bedroom is incredible on it's own. There are plenty of places to sit and relax inside and out. Nicest hot tub I have seen at a vacation rental. You will not be disappointed.

Vacation Soaring Eagle Lodge
Everything about this home - the location, grounds, amenities, views ... and the owner - could not have been better. This is the first time my wife and I have not wanted to leave a property. Watching the eagles with either a cup of wonderful northwest coffee or a nice glass of wine ... priceless. Hiking in the area is great. House is so clean and the kitchen, beyond well-supplied!

There was plenty to do nearby, but sitting on the property watching the eagles, occasional deer in the backyard and scenery were more than enough to entertain us. An added benefit for the little ones were the numerous faerie doorways throughout the property that they could search for. The lodge is one of the best we have stayed in for space, layout, stocked kitchen ... everything we could ask for. We hope to come for another visit.

It is a great jumping off point to explore all over Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands - Anacortes, Coupeville, Deception Pass State Park, Cranberry Lake, Fort Ebey, Fort Casey State Park, Joseph Whidbey State Park . The best view on the island was always the back patio at Ned's place overlooking Skagit Bay. We saw deer, eagles, bunnies, squirrels, hummingbirds and even a raccoon .
We were a party of 6 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty of room for all of us. The beds were amazing! Even the 2 1/2 year old slept through the night which never happens.
The kitchen was a joy to cook in. Fully stocked with all the spices you will need to make a gourmet meal.
There were Styrofoam coolers in the closet to use for any day trips to the beach or lake. Ned even provided us with a rolling Igloo cooler .

Before I even get to the beautiful house & setting, let me say a few words about Ned, the owner. I have not met Ned, but I almost felt I knew him by the of our vacation. Communicating with Ned both before & during our stay could not have been easier. I booked Ned’s house in 2019 to take my family in June, 2020, to Whidbey Island to celebrate my retirement. Then came the pandemic. Ned graciously allowed us to move our stay to June, 2021. Thank you, Ned! Now the house - WOW! It is as stunning as the setting. Ned has thought of every detail to make it as beautiful and as comfortable as possible. It is first class! The grounds of the property are also beautiful. The landscaping, the majestic trees, the wood carvings are all wonderful. We had fun looking at all of fairy doors & furnishings. So much so, that we now have some of the same in our yard. The views from the property cannot be beat! The number of bald eagles flying across and along the property cannot be counted. What a sight! Ned, I could go on and on! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to go back one day. Thank you! Yes, I will finally retire in August!
