Location, Location, Location! No need for rental car or ubers! Walked everywhere! Home is warm, historic and we all felt very safe. Owner was a dream to work with! Will stay here again!

Our stay at Renee’s home was lovely! We wanted to do the freedom trail with our kids and I don’t think you could get any closer to history than this home. The proximity to Quincy Market, other restaurants and the North End was perfect for meal times. We also frequented the playground at city hall. I will definitely recommend this home to my friends and family when they visit Boston!

We had a great time in Boston using this place as our home base. Great proximity to everything. Very comfortable stay for our family of 4.

Top notch spot in the middle of everything. Great place to have some friends in to enjoy the greatness of downtown Boston. House is historic and great fun to stay in. Courtyard adds an extra charm to everything. Highly recommand this place. My buddies and I have been coming up to Boston for the past 15 years and this is our new go to place. Thanks for a great stay!

The location of this property cannot be beat! It was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. Yes, there was some noise at night from nearby restaurants, but was gone at a reasonable hour and we all slept great!

The photos & description were just as they are described. The location of the house was perfect for everywhere we wanted to go, and was within walking distance of all of it. The North End (Little Italy) is a short walk from the house, so if you love Italian food, you’re close to some of the best!
It’s tucked away in an alleyway, and was surprisingly quiet for being so close to some of the bars & restaurants in the area. The communication with Renee was great. Very responsive and the directions we were given for getting to the house was spot on easy.
Great place, great location!

This VRBO is so perfectly located for any activity you want in the downtown area! We walked EVERYWHERE!
Though tricky to find, the host provides excellent instruction. The place is clean and equipped with all of the essentials. The stairs are quite steep but there is a railing. The outdoor courtyard is private and perfect for drinks and conversation.
Beds are comfy (more on the firm side).
The hostess is remarkable! Quick to respond, gracious with requests and thorough on instructions.
Ideal space would definitely stay here again.

Loved the character of this home ! It is in the perfect location in Boston to walk to Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall, the Freedom trail, Waterfront shops and restaurants .
The location is to the right of the Bostonian , turn to the right after the attached restaurant , down alley way .
There are several popular bars right behind the home, so it is in a lively location. If you are a light sleeper, a sound machine app may help.

Great stay . The place is difficult to find but once you are there it’s very nice

Great location in the heart of Boston close to everything we didn’t drive once
it was loud at night but we were expecting it in the alleyway kind of smells but it was behind about 10 restaurants in
Adorable place so authentic

Love this place! Perfect location for checking out all the historic sights…and a Red Sox game! plus parking, (we never moved our car…and it stayed safe). The beds were incredibly comfortable- we slept late both days! The decor is stunning. So happy we were able to book. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful 4 days in Boston!! Townhome was exactly as described in listing. We arrived after 11pm and was a little worried about finding it, however arrival instructions were perfect. We used Google street view before we arrived which made it super easy. My only recommendation would be to have more towels and wash cloths available. I would definitely recommend to friends!!

This property was exactly as advertised and we loved it! Check-in/check-out instructions were very clear, the property is close to everything (food, entertainment, etc). It is surprisingly quiet. Of course, it is in the middle of the pub scene which is expectedly going to bring noise with it, but the beautiful brick building keeps any after-parties to a dull roar. We would definitely return!

Excellent location and nice place!
Cons: The alley is a little inconvenient and a little smelly. No washcloths and water in shower wasn’t quite hot enough.
Otherwise enjoyed our stay!

It was fun maneuvering through the city to find the location. Once we arrived it was exactly what we were looking for -- close proximity to everything and no need to drive the car around! Slept our family of 6 perfectly! Definitely would return! The host was very helpful and quick with communication!

If you are looking for a true piece of Boston's history that is steps away from everything this is a place for you. You are a 5-minute walk to Quincy market, a 10-minute walk to the North end, 15 minute walk to TD garden, and the freedom trail is right outside your door! The location can't be beat. Once we parked our car we will we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. If you want to go a little farther the T is available to take you anywhere.
The house itself is awesome. Truly a unique stay with history right inside. You are tucked away in a back alley with your very own parking spot which is a huge perk. Just be prepared that the alley is very narrow and my SUV definitely felt like a tight fit but we did it.
The property owner answered all my questions, gave us recommendations to local restaurants and made check in very easy.
They have everything you would need in the house. The beds are amazingly comfy and everything is well stocked.
Would highly recommend this place!

We had the most wonderful three nights at the townhouse. Having the three floors to spread out on worked much better for us than a hotel room with two teen boys. First time for my sons in Boston and what a trip it was. Perfect location (walking distance to everything), super comfortable and clean, and loved the history behind the place. Summer-like weather in mid-April made the trip extra special. We checked off all our tourist to-do things: USS Constitution, Freedom Trail, Tea Party Museum, Duck boat, Red Sox game. (We didn't have to use our car at all---walked to everything and took T to Fenway.) Great dinners in the North End and my kids loved all the food choices at Quincy Market. Hope to be back!!

The home was exactly as stated. Awesome location. Walked to great historical sights and restaurants. While it was a little noisy at night, it usually quieted down in the early morning. Having the parking space was a big plus. If you have a big SUV, the spot is more difficult to use. Word of caution if older, there are a lot of steps, especially if on the 3rd floor. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Great location! Central to everything we needed. Once we got parked it was an awesome place. Car parked in the way was moved in a couple of minutes with out an issue.

Great 4-night stay in Boston in this lovely, historic townhome. Great character and worked well for our family of 4. The location - especially for exploring downtown area - is ideal. Boston is very walkable and the T is very easy to use, as well. We didn’t really use kitchen, and there is only one shower - which wasn’t a problem for us. Also, there are a number of stairs - main level living room - up a flight to the next bedroom and 1/2 bath, and master/full bath on top level. Not a problem for us - but good to be aware of. Also, because of the prime location, it can get loud at night. My boys slept through it, while my husband and I both laughed about the terrible late night karaoke singer! And there are no room darkening shades, so if you need it really dark, be sure to bring an eye mask. We enjoyed our stay and loved the character of the townhome - but admittedly, didn’t spend much time there as we were out exploring most of the time. Really great communication with Renee - very responsive. A couple of minor items that would be worth fixing - one of the bedside lamps on the 2nd floor wasn’t working, and some of the shades either didn’t go up or wouldn’t go down all the way. Not big issues, but would be nice if those were repaired/working. But all in all, a really great stay in a lovely home. Oh - on parking - if you drive (totally unnecessary if you can avoid it) - there is a parking spot, but it really gets blocked by other cars so you could easily find yourself trying to leave - but with no way to move the vehicle and relying on the illegally parked drivers to both leave their number in the window and respond to your call to have them come move vehicle. We had a car for one day to visit colleges and opted not to risk it - parked in the nearby garage at 20 Clinton.

Simply can’t find a better location in a more charming area. Yes, the evening noise is there, but if you can sleep with a sound machine it will not bother you and you simply can’t beat the location and charm. Renee was MORE than accommodating, friendly and helpful. Five stars!

What a treasure in the middle of Govt Square! This charming old carriage house had us minutes from everything we had on our Boston bucket list. We caught a foul ball at Fenway, we toured Lexington and Concord, we saw the fall colors in Boston Common and Public Garden, and we ate our way across the city consuming everything from sea food to cannolis. Just make sure you use the correct address. By replacing "alley" with "place" you end up way south. Our Uber driver, Angel, earned every inch of his fare to get us there.

We loved this historic Townhouse located just off the Freedom Trail. It was within walking distance of all the historic sites in Boston. We parked the car and didn't need to move it until we left. The townhouse exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend staying here. It was a vacation our family will always remember.

We wanted to be right in the middle of Boston, and this place hits the bullseye. The description is completely accurate, and the detailed check-in info (including the parking) was essential, and done really well. We felt completely safe, comfortable, and even insulated from the very active urban life around us. Well-equipped is an understatement: a turntable AND cool vinyl to play hint at all that is there.

This cute 3 story historic townhouse is located just steps from Quincy Market. The bedrooms are on the second and third floors so just be prepared to do stairs. The beds were comfy. There is a half bath on the second floor and a third bath on the third. The owner provided plenty of towels. There is a small kitchen with a very nice oven/ range but we didn’t do any cooking. The phonograph and albums were a fun touch. We did take advantage of the nice outdoor table in the courtyard. We bought shrimp at Quincy Market and sat outside and enjoyed it with a bottle of wine. We had a little trouble one day with the outside lockbox but the owner sent someone over to help right away. Our only complaint was that some of the window shades didn’t work real well. You really can’t find a better location in the center of the historic Boston area. We loved it!

Wonderful piece of history located in the heart of old Boston. Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Parking can be tricky, but once we parked we never needed the car again because everything was within walking distance. Had coffee in the private courtyard every morning and then walked to get breakfast. True hidden gem.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this historic townhouse. Although the townhouse has all the modern conveniences, much of the historical character was maintained. The property is as described, the location was perfect for us, and Renee is a wonderful host. We parked our car when we arrived, which was a bit challenging; however, everything we wanted to do and see was within walking distance, so the only time we needed to move it was when we were checking out.

Spectacular location - close to everything downtown Boston & a short walk from public transit. We took advantage of the Quincy & Boston Public Markets.
Clean & comfortable. Renee is a great a host.

Amazing experience. Comfy accommodations. Not great if you have a vehicle, but in this location you don't need one! The house has such character, everything you need. It was very quiet except Friday night...however, earplugs are provided and eventually the fun at the nearby bars subsides. No one lost sleep over it and noise is to be expected when you're in the heart of Boston!
