My friends and family had a wonderful time staying at Ingrid’s place. We lounged by the pool, tossed a football in the backyard, and roasted marshmallows in the fire at night. The house is welcoming and cozy, and just a short drive away from Shelter Island’s many shops, beaches, or the ferry. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We are repeat customers. Love the location, the pool is awesome, and owners are cooperative and easy to deal with. They readily worked with us when a family death caused a change in dates and plans. I would definitely recommend it!

Loved this home! Would definitely stay again. The house is adorable, clean and comfortable. The pool was incredible and the outdoor activities provided were endless! Visited for the weekend for a friends wedding and I was very happy with this lovely home!

This property was perfect for our family of 6. The kitchen was well equipped and we really enjoyed the beautiful pool and 15 minute walk to the beach.

My family very much enjoyed our stay at Cottage Green. The kitchen, pool and expansive property are highlights! The hosts were excellent - responsive, lovely in person and very accommodating. The cottage has a well appointed kitchen, plenty of towels, washer dryer and room by room A/C. Wifi was consistent. It is a 12-15 min walk to Wades Beach (4 min drive) and a 2 min drive to South Ferry. The driveway holds plenty of cars but is completely blind (treacherous) trying to turn onto S Ferry Road. The cottage is tiny with only one bathroom in the main house - but there is a second half bath in the pool house + an outdoor shower. The two upstairs bedroom are suitable for children - as they are accessed by ladder - not stairs. The two main floor bedrooms are very tiny but adequate. Beds could use some upgrading. Overall, excellent choice for a small family's vacation on lovely Shelter Island.

Exceptionally clean, fully renovated and well-equipped quaint cottage was perfect for a short or extended stay. Although on the smaller side, the house had more than enough room for myself, my husband and three teens. We loved the expansive yard with badminton, fire pit and gorgeous gunite pool. I highly recommend this property!

We just had the loveliest stay at the Cottage Green. The house is very clean and well decorated, located a short walk from the beach and Vine Street Cafe. The pool is fabulous and the grounds are so beautiful! We can’t wait to return again!

We had a wonderful family gathering at this amazing home. We enjoyed swimming, badminton and ping pong while relaxing and bbqing. I highly recommend staying here. Ingrid was a superb host.

My family and I stayed for 4 days at this house and are still talking about it. The house itself was exceptionally clean, with an incredible updated Kitchen, a great screened in porch to sit in at night, and 4 comfortable bedrooms. But its the outside that is absolutely incredible - the Salt Water pool and outdoor patio and lounge chairs were where we hung out the majority of our days. We felt like we were living at a resort. This was our first trip to Shelter Island and I can easily see us coming back and staying at this incredible house.

Our family loved the property. The pool was perfect. We read books by the pond and enjoyed some ping-pong. The hosts were very responsive and very easy to communicate with. We are already looking at dates for next summer.

We loved our stay here. The yard and pool are beautiful and spacious and the house was clean, cozy and exactly as advertised. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch! The owners were so responsive and even dropped off something we needed mid-stay. We would love to go back one day.

It’s a quick walk to the beach and to vine st for dinner. The backyard is expansive, with a huge pool, badminton, ping pong, etc. there is even a small pond with a firepit. The pool house makes for a great extra bedroom with its own bathroom. The rooms upstairs are better for kids or younger folks. The kitchen is brand new, with everything you need to cook for a group. It’s a great spot for 2-3 people to work remotely. The WiFi is blazing fast (can easily handle multiple video calls at once). There are three private tables to work inside - one desk in a bedroom, a table in the kitchen, and a table in the living room. If the weather is nice you can also work on the large table in the screened in porch or in the back. The owners are responsive and friendly. We had an issue with the dishwasher and they sent out a plumber to replace it the next day. We would definitely like to come back.

We had an amazing time in our week long local vacation. Ingrid was always available when we had questions. The pool was perfect and exactly what we needed. The heating feature was key as our trip took place late in the summer. We would definitely love to go back!

The hosts were great, the setting and pool were lovely, but the house and some amenities were not represented exactly right. There are 4 bedrooms, but 2 upstairs are for kids, given the ladder that has to be climbed to reach them. One of the downstairs bedrooms doesn’t have an air conditioner . There are no or very light window coverings in bedrooms, so light comes in early. We lost cable and internet due to the storm early in the stay and it never came back on, so I can’t comment on the TV or internet strength, but cell service is very weak where the house is.

The pool amenities were excellent, with lots of seating and umbrellas. There's also a nice little pool house with a kitchenette (including another fridge), bathroom, TV and fold-out couch. There's also a hammock, badminton, a ping pong table, and an outdoor fire pit, perfect for s'mores. The house itself is quite small but very comfortable. The kitchen has a big new fridge and all the conveniences. The living room is large, with the biggest TV (also TVs in the bedrooms), and a lot of seating. The two bedrooms in the attic are not really appropriate for young children or an older person because access is more “ladder like” than stairs. The house is adjacent to the road but set well back, so the only traffic noise we noticed was for 10 minutes or so at the 5:30 “rush hour”! Shelter Island itself is very quiet and lightly trafficked. To go to the beach we would usually take the back exit off the property and then bike (4 minutes) or drive (2 mins) to Wades Beach. We brought our own bikes but there were 5 bikes at the cottage which were great for guests. We biked all over - there's not many cars on the roads, and the drivers are very courteous about bicycles. The owners could not have been nicer, super accommodating and instantly available if you need them, but casual enough that we felt like we were in our own home. We’re already planning our return in 2021! Our happy place!

We rented this adorable house in August 2019 with another family (4 adults, 4 kids) and very much enjoyed our time here. The pictures accurately depict the property. One thing to note, the two kids' bedrooms upstairs are accessed by a very steep staircase - more a ladder than a staircase - so these bedrooms would not be good for young children, someone afraid of heights, or someone with a physical limitation. That being said, the second floor has a tree-house vibe that our kids loved. The house is recently renovated and the kitchen, in particular, is well done. All of the beds were comfortable. The outdoor space is fabulous. The pool is big and in great condition. The outdoor shower is spacious and the water heats quickly. There is plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture. The pool house has a bedroom (possibly nicer than the bedrooms in the house), a kitchenette and a half bath. The house is on the south side of Shelter Island. Our kids rode their bikes to Wades Beach. Walking at a leisurely pace, it took 10-15 minutes to walk there. The owners were very responsive and pleasant. We would be happy to rent this house again.

This lovely cottage provided the perfect place for our retreat leaders to stay when they were not running groups for our pediatric oncology children’s Thanksgiving weekend. Everything was perfect. It was wonderful to be here during the off season, but I bet staying here during the summer would be a real treat with the pool and pool house. The owner is kind and accommodating.

The house had so much charm and we loved the little perks, like slippers in all the rooms and a bottle of champagne. The house had everything we needed! We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool and the pool house!
