The cabin was perfect for celebrating New Year, very cozy and with a wood burning fireplace. Although there are neighbors along the road up the mountain, you can’t see the other houses from this cabin. We enjoyed the kid friendly hiking trails nearby, shopping in Chimney Rock Village and the local restaurants. Asheville and Greenville are located within an hour from the cabin and we visited there too. Overall we enjoyed the area and will go back in the summer next time.

Our family had a great time again in Lake Lure! We also love the Riverbend community. We have stayed in many properties here. Lake Lure never disappoints. The scenery is amazing. We love Chimney Rock as well.
On arrival we were greeted by a flock of wild turkeys! The cabin was cozy but had plenty of room for our family of 5.
We enjoyed the fire place at night and porch sitting in the afternoon. The cabin is remote so be prepared for a few minute drive up dirt roads. But this also means its very quite and private. We barely saw anyone else our entire time there.
The mattresses were very comfortable! The stone showers were unique and provided a spa like experience.
Because we cooked 2-3 meals we would have preferred the kitchen be a little better stocked. The cook ware was a little inadequate. The smoke alarm upstairs was a little sensitive after showers. We had to make sure the door was closed for a while.
Overall we had a great time and if you are looking for a quite peaceful cabin, this is it.

This was a beautiful cabin! Very well taken care of and felt like home. It was hard to leave.

A perfect location and quiet. Very peaceful and a very nice cabin and property. Excellent! Plenty of solitude and nature. Had a bear drop by for a visit. Deer, wild turkeys, coyotes and ravens and woodpeckers. The area was beautiful with nice trails and roads. The lake was gorgeous as well. Will definitely be back for more stays.
Thank you

Beautiful area, great private lake, steep winding roads to walk to the lake, cabin was nice , lacking a few items such as hot pads for the oven and only 2 towels for the beach, steep basement stairs but all and all great place to go.

Enjoyed our stay. Great place.

This is the cutest cabin! It is the quintessential cabin in the mountains/woods. With the bear theme and the beautifully carved bears it reminded my daughters of Goldilocks and the three bears.
The cabin is very private with big decks. We enjoyed evenings on the decks and the kids and the dogs played outside in the yard and woods where we could see them. We did some early morning hikes down to the river area and lake. We drove down to the beach since we had a lot of beach stuff and tubes.
The cabin was clean and well taken care of. The older kids loved the basement bedroom with their own deck.
To sum it up, just a very special, quaint home surrounded by a beautiful area.
3.0
Cute but too cozy for 4 adults and 4 children. Lots of sleeping beds but the basement area that slept 5 was very damp and musty, even with a dehumidifier. No detergent for dishwasher or washer. Washer/dryer were working poorly. You Could NOT walk to beach, DIRT road was curvy, windy, narrow and dangerous to walk. Plus the beach is over a mile away. No toaster and be sure to bring your own trash bags and toilet paper.

As we have stayed previously and numerous times on these properties listed under this host there is only one way to explain each visit.....it just gets better and better!
We could not ask for a better stay anywhere in the beautiful mountains of Lake Lure. Our visit this year once again was outstanding. The property is so comfortable. It is secluded and quiet with only the daily music presented to you from the rustling forest along with the small animals and birds in their performance playing, singing and talking to each other. All the while enjoying and relaxing on the porch in a front row seat. It just doesn't get any better than this. It was a perfect. stay. Our hosts are amazing at how engaged and available they always are to assure their guests have everything you need and more, before and during your stay. Thank you Liz and Kyle for everything!!

My family had a wonderful time here! We appreciate Liz with her help and responding to our questions. The property was clean and exactly the getaway style we were looking for. A little tricky getting to the property but just read the instructions closely. Our kids enjoyed the experience and we will absolutely keep this property on our favorite list!

We were looking for a quiet escape to relax and found it here. There were a lot of activities available but our goal was quiet and rest. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and the coziness of the charming house. The owners were very kind . We loved walking in and seeing the holiday decorations too. It made for a really warm welcome.

The property was beautiful. The gps did not take use to the exact home but the managers were very efficient in helping us get where we needed to be and quick to reply to all questions.

Overall great house. The only thing is the directions getting to the main gate. It needs to be highlighted or in bold.

Great cabin in the woods equipped with all the necessities. Cabin was very clean at check-in.
Long steep gravel road to cabin but it added to the ambiance and we had no problems with our van.

Cabin was very comfortable and as advertised. We saw lots of deer and had a beautiful private location.
The four stars versus five is because of a couple of small items.
1. A warning that the stairs are steep should be noted in the listing.
2. The grill needs to be replaced, it is very worn out.
I would return, but not with my family member who had difficulty with the stairs.
Enjoyed the area and the stay.

Cabin was close to Chimney Rock and some local hikes. Lake Lure is about 20 minutes away to access the beach. Asheville is an hour away no matter what route you take. Cabin is quiet, but set down off the road and surrounded by trees, so in the summer there were not views of the mountains and definitely not of Lake Lure. Bedroooms are upstairs or downstairs, so not really accessible for elderly people.

Very relaxing
The cabin is nestled in a great community. It is located at the top of the mountain about 1.3 miles from the lake and 10 minutes from the gate.
We enjoyed the lake and the rapids.
We are a family of 5 with three teenage boys to make the cabin more comfortable a few things would have been great, night lights, the cabin is pitch black and we had to leave the stairwell light on at night for our sons to get up and down the basemrnt stairs. More utensils, as a family who prepares all meals at the cabin more than 9 sets of utensils and actual cereal bowls that could be microwaved and dishwashered would have been nice. Also, 2 more chairs in the dinning area.
All in all we loved the property and would visit again.

Cabin Review
It was much more remote than the pics and correspondence alluded to. I was told it was a 10 minute walk to the water. It was a ten minute drive however, up to the top of a mountain-thank God we had 4 wheel drive on both vehicles. Also, the kitchen was not nearly supplied enough for 5 adults eating meals in. Not enough utensils for even two meals. Also, guys like sports and movies you need at least one big screen (65 inch plus) for evenings and rainy days just to chill and relax.

Enjoyed the seclusion of the property. Not sure how to cut the distance to the lake and river to 12 minutes? We were ok using the road but did not have to worry about small children. Beds were comfy and plenty of blankets available. Good communication with owner as we were coming in late. Enjoyed the cornhole on the deck.

We had a great time staying at this property. It was secluded and quiet at the cabin but still close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and nearby attractions. Small Beach and swimming hole on the property were great for the grandkids. We had a small black bear walk past the cabin one evening which was real neat to see.

Cute quiet cabin in the woods. Gated community. Far back into subdivision. No screens at all but wasn’t a problem in April. Really nice large deck and covered porches great for dining outside. Basement stairs very steep and railing on main stairs too short. Would not be good for elderly.
Secluded.

I’ve stayed at a variety of lake houses in the NC/VA area for years. This one was fine. Nothing wowed us, but nothing was horrible. We had 4 adults but would have been concerned about the stairs for young children or seniors- they seemed steep and narrow with odd handrails leading to main bedrooms. It is a very beautiful area .

The cabin itself was very attractive and spotlessly clean. Appreciated the fireplace. The furniture was all very comfortable. The setting was beautiful. Appreciated Kyle's help in guiding me to the cabin when my GPS failed. The only drawback was the path to the cabin had some steep steps and the steps on the staircases both up and down were a bit steep for us seniors. Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the cabin for younger folk.
