The room size was very good so was the location as I could not hear any noise from the road. It was a disabled accessibility room with more room so I expected it to be quieter. The cleanliness was good.

I do like a bath in my room, but then I booked very late so I was very pleasantly surprised with what I did get, however, I was a little upset when I returned from being out on the Sunday morning, I’ve noticed that my sure deodorant was missing after my room had been cleaned, and had to go and buy a new one.

Good situation in town centre room reasonably comfortable.

No hot water for shower . Car park was a scam. Required to put in car details within a short time limit using mobile phone but app kept timing out as you were entering long card number in poor light resulting in exceeding time limit. Despite receiving confirmation that charge had been taken still incurred £100 charge because it was over time limit.

The room stink of cigarette smoke, more predominant in the bathroom. The previous occupants must’ve been blowing into the air vent extractor. But it was in all the textiles you had to be in the room for more than five minutes to notice this the fan was a good size as the room was quite warm, that was about it. It was so noisy as an army helicopter chinook, passing overhead. Making it impossible to sleep.

It was modern, clean & centrally located. The breakfast and bar at The George were great.

Although the hotel had double glazing, it didn’t block out any of the street noise. We were kept up throughout the night with the sound of music, and people shouting in the street.

Fantastic location, rooms were a really good size, beds were comfy too. We didn't hear any noise from the rooms around us and didnt hear any noise from outside either. Hotel was nice and clean, close to pubs, shops and restaurants and the beautiful castle.

Rooms were way way too hot, a small fan was provided but didn't do much to help. Definitely would benefit from air conditioning.

The bed was super comfortable, cleanliness was excellent, really easy access to town and shopping and beautiful Colchester Castle park.

There wasn't a small bar fridge in the room. It would have been nice to have laundry service, especially for the longer stay. It was very noisy at night , even with the sound proofing. Air conditioning would have been good, it was really hot in the room.

right opposite slug and lettuce which was partying until 4am and then the party moved into the hotel. staff did not respond. also arrived and had to check into a beautiful hotel to be shown accross the road. would have much rather stayed at the hotel but this wasn’t well advertised. you drive past the parking and have to do a 10 min loop round the one way system! breakfast was awful. sausages were disgusting.

it’s close to a busy road so noise from moving vehicles tend to disburse.

price for the room, too high for what you get. stayed in hotels in better location, breakfast included and cleaner for less. standards have dropped since the last time I used to be a regular customer and doubt I’ll come back
