We’ve stayed in other units at Destin Beach and Bay Resorts. This is one of the nicest, by far. Will remember this unit and try to get it again next year.

We had a great experience staying at this condo! Very clean and a great view. I loved that there were plenty of towels.

My family really enjoyed staying at Destin West, UNIT 512. Access to so many pools and hot tubs was awesome as well as the view and access to the beach. The umbrella/chair rental company unfortunately took up all the prime spots of the shoreline. This monopoly was very disappointing along with all the signs telling us where we could not sit, walk. We agree with the recommendations for improvements listed in the June 2018 comments and would add, ...fix the door to balcony as it is very hard to open/close. Also, several loose electrical outlets that don't work well.Although we never cooked, I appreciated the well stocked kitchen, many dishes and cookware. Linens were clean, good quality and comfortable. We loved having our own sleeping areas; daughter had the bunkbed area, son had front bedroom and parents in the master room. It was great to be able to have two bathrooms and washer/dryer to wash clothes.Would recommend this condo and hope to book it again for another vacation.Thank you!

Overall nice stay, but as in some previous reviews the ice maker was just one big block of ice , maintenance came right away, still no ice, appliance guy came, promised to get the part to fix it, needless to say we left 5 days later ice maker still not working. Had to keep going to store to buy ice, not cool. Comforters on beds are very outdated and worn, so is carpet, fraying away in some places. Couch is dirty and needs replacing. Ceiling in master bedroom right above the entrance door started leaking from the floor above, we notified maintenance and no one ever came out, the ceiling paint was starting to fall on the floor. Overall, we still had a nice time, the resort offers much to do for everyone. Pools and lazy river are awesome. Really quiet resort, beach not so nice, was full of seaweed at the time we went, but sand was beautiful and white. If we were to stay again I would definitely select a different condo.

The condo was as pictured and very clean upon arrival. I really appreciated it being ready at 4:00 PM rather than a later time as warned. The view and location to the beach was wonderful. Here are a few things I think the owners could improve on : 1. Label all of the light switches 2. Label all of the cabinets 3. Add a night stand on the right side of the bed in the front bedroom 4. Include 2 lawn chairs and umbrella with the condo as do other condos at the same property. We did have a couple of issues during our stay with some things that needed repair. As instructed, I reported them right away shortly after our arrival. I was advised they would submit a work order. I received a call back within a few minutes stating they wanted to address the issue while we were there and that someone would be out the next day. No one ever showed up and we never got a call back at that point. I would choose this property again but would have loved it if the repair issues were addressed as promised.

The property management was very accommodating with two issues we had. The owner needs to seriously consider updating her furniture. The couch was very uncomfortable and the chair wasn't any better. The frig wouldn't make ice. Also, the outdoor furniture needs updating as well.

this was our first stay at Destin West #512 and were so happy with our choice! we usually stay in Destin, but chose to stay in Ft Walton this time and we will never stay in Destin again! we will choose this condo in Ft Walton every time! it is convenient and much less traffic... the condo was so nice and spacious... I would however add more seating to the living room... not to comfortable with only a small sofa. the freezer leaked the whole time & never made useable ice... but I can live with that. your condo is AWESOME!!! i'll be back next summer - thank you again!

We love salt Walter vacations! However unit #512 is over due for a remodeling we have stayed here for the past 3 years and let me tell you that they condo needs new mattress new bed comforters the carpet needs to go I got some allergic reaction to the carpet it’s really dirty for the price that you pay is not fair this our home for a whole week and it should feel clean and be clean also the sofa bed is dirty with stains and the cushions they are really dirty. As well the comforters are all stain. And I know it’s not house keeping or salt water vacation fault it’s the Owner that needs to invest. This will be the last year I stay in unit #512

Condo was not the cleanest. Black mold in the showers, dirty dishes, trash under furniture.

The location of the condo was perfect and somewhat easy to find. We stayed at another condo at the same property in April so we sort of knew whereabouts it would be located. We parked on the 5th level and usually had a parking spot close to the stairs and we could easily walk to the condo. The view and location to the beach was wonderful. Here are a few things I think the owners could improve on : 1. Label all of the light switches 2. Label all of the cabinets 3. Add a night stand on the right side of the bed in the front bedroom 4. Include 2 lawn chairs and umbrella with the condo as do other condos at the same property. 5. The parking passes were in the packet of Welcome info but I couldn't find them at first as they were on the backside of a pizza coupon. I just saw the coupon and thought the passes were missing. If the passes were put inside the packet with the parking pass side up, I would have seen it. 6. In all of the paperwork with the condo info I must have found three or four different phone numbers. It would be less frustrating and confusing if one number was given as the contact number. We did have a couple of issues during our stay with some things that needed repair. As instructed, I reported them right away shortly after our arrival. We found the master bed frame broken and the carpeting where it met the tile to the kitchen entrance had exposed carpet tacks. My little 18 mo grandson repeatedly stepped on them as did myself and my son. With my husband's ingenuity he was able to prop a cooking pot where the bed frame had broken in order to be able to sleep in the bed and we wound up putting a towel down over the place where the carpet tacks were exposed. I reported the bed frame issue first and told them of our work around. They advised they would submit a work order. Within a few minutes after reporting it, I got a call back stating they wanted to address the issue while we were there and that someone would be out the next day. No one ever showed up and we never got a call back at that point. All in all, we had a great stay and I would not hesitate to reserve this condo again. However, if the above improvements were made it would definitely be a plus. I was disappointed that no one showed up to make the necessary repairs though.
