There were so many locked doors. We didn’t find a broom or mop or vacuum until the last day after the agency called us. Then, miraculously that evening the two closets with mop and vacuum all of a sudden were open. We were very upset that they came into our rented property without our permission and unlocked these two doors. This was completely unacceptable. There were also many light bulbs out throughout the house and the TV fire stick wasn’t working when we arrived. There were no working lights in the upstairs hallway. We were told to put trash out on two certain days, with lids on. On an opposite page they said there was a trash technician who would come out the trash by the curb. Problem was there were seven trash cans and zero lids. Overall the house is very tired. The furniture was old and in many cases worn out and cushions were dirty/filthy. The kitchen cabinets finish was worn out (along with other furniture). There was not enough seating for the nine people we had there. The dining room table was scratched and the finish was completely worn out. The room in the lower level was completely empty. It could have been used as a game table or ping pong or anything fun. Also a ceiling fan in the 2nd floor bedroom was so noisy that it could not be used.
Quite frankly this house needs a complete cleaning and much of the furnishings replaced. It was frustrating to rent a house that didn’t have many basic features taken care of- which I would expect.

The home is in a nice neighborhood, it is a nice home with nice beds, could use some more furniture in some areas, some newer furniture. The pool was nice it was heated, but it is at the end of the channel and catches all the wind, it is completely shaded after 11 am.

This year we decided to go to the Keys for our family vacation. This house was a perfect fit for us. Plenty of room, great location and a nice pool. We all agreed we would stay here again.

Spacious and comfortably furnished
We are a family of 10 ages 10 months to 67years. The house accommodated everyone comfortably. The pool area was wonderful and the boat dock was perfect for our 21 foot rental boat. The kitchen was large and well supplied with all we needed to cook large meals. The house was clean and the check in was easy. The only negative part of our stay was the expectation that the renters would wash “a few loads” of towels and sheets before departure as well as washing, drying and putting away all the dishes in the kitchen. This makes for a hectic 10AM departure!!
A linen service would be expected for this large house at this price point. Otherwise, we very much enjoyed our stay, would give 5 stars if not for the hectic departure.

We were very happy with the house - it was exactly as described on the website. My husband and I took 7 members of our family on a Spring Break vacation (we still have 3 grandkids in High School!). The house fit our family perfectly - we had a wonderful week on Key Colony Beach!

We had a good stay in Key Colony and we’re very happy with the location of this property. Many homes in the community are one story and small to medium footprint, but this house is on a more upscale street with larger footprint. The house was clean and furniture was in fairly good shape. Lots of cooking and serving ware. During late Jan/early Feb the sun only hit the pool area late morning/early afternoon, but there were sunning options on the front side of the house on the porches or even in the side yard. We thought the value of the house was good and the amenities/qualities exceeded what we expected for the price. We would stay here again.

We had a good stay in Key Colony and we’re very happy with the location of this property. Great place for our family of 9. Plenty of room, nice pool/spa and beautiful neighborhood. Other than being a bit disappointed that the floors hadn't been cleaned (we had to mop them as by the end of day 1 our bare feet were VERY dirty as we walked around the house barefoot). The place was great.

Only thing that would have been nice is rental supplied garbage bags , Toilet paper and paper towel were included. Lastly, was asked to leave no more than 3 loads of laundry for cleaning staff on day of check out. That was a challenge with 9 guests. Didn’t mind helping but shouldn’t be charged as much for cleaning fee of that is the case.

Nice location for boating.
The house was clean and very nice, Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds was comfortable. Spa and pool nice but very warm not real refreshing but it was mid June, Pool is in need of repair and weeds growing on pool deck. Dock is workable but supper close to neighbor dock ( end of channel) and the trees will load your boat up with leaves and bugs.

Key Colony is a great community. We enjoyed walking each day, and the sunsets each evening. The house is beautiful and was clean on the surface. However, the kitchen drawers were dirty, the bathroom drawers had hair in them, there was a dirty electric toothbrush holder in a cabinet, years of grime in corner of one the showers, the tile floors need professional cleaning, and it was quite dusty. I asked if there was a hair dryer prior to arrival and was told yes, but there was not. It should also be noted the pool is shaded by noon. If you have older people this house is not ideal, as three of the rooms are up two flight of stairs from the ground level. The beds are very comfortable. If this house gets a deep clean, I would recommend if you don’t mind the shady pool.

Great neighborhood, location, and amenities.
Pros: very nice area and lovely house. It was very spacious. The pool area was great and paying for heat in the pool during a cool week made it great for the kids. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for 10. The beds were very comfortable. We used the outdoor grill several times and enjoyed the outdoor seating and table.
Cons: the white brocade dining chairs and white living room furniture was a little dingy. Poor choice of color for a rental unit. The request to wash all the towels and linens except for 3 loads in a five bedroom house prior to 10 am checkout is unreasonable. The dryer was very slow and made it impossible to get everything dry. Finally, the house is at the end of the canal which was full of sea grass. Don’t know how you would get a boat in there.
Overall it was just great. Lots of pool toys and floats for the kids. Great sliding doors everywhere to let in lots of air and light. Good WiFi and sound system in pool area. We would come here again.

Nice location, few minor issues
The property is a good location for Marathon. There were a few things that needed mechanical attention, nothing major. Biggest complaint is that we had to do laundry prior to departure. We have used VRBO many times never had this issue.

Great location. Enjoyed pool and hot tub. Agent very responsive when we had a couple of minor issues. Wished the lift was available to move heavy suitcases though!

Another Wonderful Week in the Keys
A group of family and friends travel to the keys every year in October. We rented this lovely home in Key Colony Beach this year. Only 1 hr drive to Key West. Marathon has everything you could possibly need for a vacation away. The house was very nice. All 5 bedrooms were a good size. Pool and hot tub were awesome. Pool is very large. The house was on a canal but also right across the street from the Ocean. Saw some amazing sunsets. Would definitely return and would recommend to others as a great place to stay.

Great property in a wonderful neighborhood
This home was a perfect fit for our family of 6 to rent for the week. The pool and access to the water was wonderful. It was close to everything including a few great restaurants. It was a quick trip down to the Keys and up to Isle Morada for some fun day trip. We would definitely stay again.

Spacious and as beautiful as the pictures!
My family (two adults & 4 children) along with my sister's family (2 adults & 2 children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this clean and lovely maintained home in Key Colony Beach. We love this area because it is so close to so many places like: the Dolphin Research Center, The Art Studio, Hook's Marina as well as great restaurants ( Sunset Grill & Lazy Days). It is located on one of the nicest streets and we enjoyed walking from here to Sunset Park. You can see part of the Vaca Cut. The layout of the home was perfect for our group of ten. The open kitchen with the latest appliances gave us plenty of area to cook and dine. The wrap around porches on the second and third levels were wonderful areas to relax and watch the sun set. Outdoors, the kids enjoyed the large pool. The dock on the canal was perfect for parking our 23ft boat. We would definitely like to return to this lovely home on our next trip to the Keys. The only suggestion I would make is to replace the current washing machine and dryer for they are a little dated but not a big deal!

Absolutely accommoadating and tastefully appointed.
My husband and I rented this home for us to host some family traveling to Key Colony Beach for the week of our son's wedding. This beautiful home is absolutely accommodating, tastefully appointed and completely outfitted in all aspects. We did not lack for a single item. While there we hosted a cocktail party for the New England travelers to the wedding and were so extremely pleased with the space, floor plan, accommodating amenities and the setting. We watched the sunset every evening from the beautiful verandas which offered an unobstructed ocean view. Every bedroom is well thought out and the bedding is top notch. There is only one regret, we should have taken it for 2 weeks! We hope to enjoy this wonderful home again when we return to KCB with family. Kind thanks to the property manager for accommodating our family by allowing a mid week to mid week rental for us. The wedding was fantastic and this home played a key role in that!

Great house
Great rental house and good location. Had 6 guys fishing and plenty of room to spread out and keep our stuff out of the way. Beds are great and house is well supplied. Leslie at American Caribbean was great to work with and made the process very easy and helped us rent the perfect house. Wish she could have arranged the weather for us too.

Perfect Family Home
This home was above and beyond what we had hoped for. We found the home in stopless condition, the kitchen was had every cooking need imaginable.
This was a our first visit in the Keys and we did not know what to expect. After much searching online, we came across this home. Leslie, at American Caribbean Real Estate was so helpful! She spent a lot time on the phone with us, telling us all about the different Keys. We decided Key Colony Beach would fit us best, and were so right! We are happy to find this little gem of a plac and to find American Caribbean Real Estate.
The home offered lots of outdoor living space and lots of pivacy. We are looking forward to another visit to this home!

Best House We've Ever Rented!
This home is top notch. We have stayed at this home three times over the last two years. We will never stay elsewhere. The home offers everything you will ever need. The beds are more comfortable than any we've ever slept in. The towels are plush, linens are high end. The home is very spacious and easy to spread out. The back of the home offers lots of privacy; the pool area is so relaxing. We walked to Sunset Park and Beach every night and enjoyed dinner at the local Key Colony restaurants that were walking distance from the home.
The rental agent, Leslie, is the best we have worked with. She makes the check in process so easy. We love knowing that there is someone available close by in case we need anything.
Key Colony is clean, quiet and beautiful! There is a small golf course and tennis courts on the island. We enjoy walking around the island and looking at all of the beautiful homes. The water is so blue you will feel like you are in the Caribbean.
We are looking forward to our next stay!
