Stayed here several times. Walking distance to everything in Garden City especially Sam Corner and The Pier. Very convenient location. You can seat on the porch at night and listen to the band on the pier. Excellent beach.

At checkin at Garden City Realty, I was accused of falsifying the contract and told in a threatening manner that the owners did NOT rent to 'my type'. Two women took the packet to the back while I was left waiting. Then 3 LARGE men came out and tried to intimidate me into leaving. I was called a liar and they demanded all of my guests come in and hand over their licenses to be vetted. They finally relented and said our background checks were ok and gave us the code to check in. As we were leaving, one of the large men said they would be watching us and if we did anything wrong that they would kick us out, not let us gather our belongings and no refund. They tried to scare us into leaving. I'd paid 3 months in advance and filled out the contract with all of the information on my guests and all was ACCURATE. It was an unbelievable experience that I will never forget. I did absolutely everything perfectly and honestly on the contract, 3 MONTHS ahead of time and at checkin I am treated like a criminal in front of my friends. I am still shocked that a business would treat customers so unprofessionally. My friends are all educated professionals who plan to report this to the BBB and the C of C. The unit was fine, and matched the photos. The location was great. If not for the threats at checkin it would have been a very nice vacation. But Garden City Realty ruined it. I thought you should know.

The best part of this house is the location. The house has very small amounts of kitchen supplies, ie one mixing bowl plastic and small, not even a corkscrew. Stainless is so cheap it bends almost as you stir your coffee. The furniture is nasty and very very old. The house needs a major cleaning, not just a quick clean up on Saturday. Old dirt in corners, baseboards, etc just a major cleaning. There is no grill, one small trash can that all the neighbors use, so stays overflowing. The ice maker does not work efficiently. It never even filled the tray the whole week we were there and we had ants. Called office 4 times before anything done but once I got to the right person they came out right away and I appreciate that very much. There were 5 chairs on the porch and 2 were broken and I don’t think they have been cleaned in a very long time. I know it is the beach and I expect sand and things but not filth. Unless things were changed in the house, the location is not worth renting it again.

Coffee pot is fine, maybe add a Keurig style pot instead of two coffee pots. Outside is getting a little overgrown. There were sticker bushes creeping onto the deck that I had to cut back for the kid’s safety. As I always report, move the outdoor shower onto the deck. It doesn't make sense to rinse off in the sand and now sticker bushes and then walk through the sand to get to the deck. If it was on the deck, the house may have less sand in it. Disappointed that I could not grill under the facility as we used to be able, even though the neighbors didn't follow the rules. Ants were also another issue. You would think they were in the food areas, but no, in my bedroom. They also got into my vehicle. Takeaways: Get rid of the ant problem, cut back the brush and open it up, allow grilling under the building, move the outdoor showers, and put some of our money back into the building, it’s getting dated. Will I stay here again, questionable. I don't feel that the money spent is equal to the vacation experience people are looking for. I would recommend this house for location, but there are better quality houses for the money.

This property needed serious attention. We covered the couches with sheets just to sit on them. Sand caked in the corners of the stairs. We bought new comforters because the ones available had to be from the 70’s! They were disgusting! We found earrings and q-tips beneath the sheets! Not worth the money!

Very disappointed in the cleanliness. There were large roaches, the louvered door on hvac closet looked like it had not been dusted in years, The corners on steps have not been cleaned in a while. These things tell me there is never real good cleaning done between tenants. I decided to eat out mostly because of the roaches which cost more money than I had planned.
In addition, the sliding glass door needs repair. I had to fix it upon arrival myself.
And no I did not call anyone because I did not want to deal with others coming in and out while on vacation. These were issues that should have been taken care of before I arrived. It was not an issue of air not working on day 4 or something where I would have called.
Paid a lot of money for this unit on off season and just expected more.

While we were initial concerned about the noise level being so close to a busy intersection (shops, public beach access, & the pier), the view and oceanfront access made all of our worries go away. The house easily sleeps 10 (and can accommodate more if you use the 2 pull out sofas in the living room). When we had an issue with the garbage disposal, maintenance responded quickly. I do recommend they invest in some additional kitchen utensils such as cookie sheets, mixing bowls, sharp knives, and a Keurig. A deep cleaning of the whole house is needed, but overall it has good bones.

We really enjoyed our stay! There was more than enough room and being right on the beach was wonderful! We were worried about the parking bc our family came into town at different times but we were able to fit 4 regular size cars/SUV’s on one side of the duplex! It was within walking distance of the Garden City pier! There is public beach access right next to the duplex so there were more people on the beach due to that being so close. The police patrolled the area and beach a lot so that made us feel very safe, we really appreciated that especially with 2 small kids! I saw one review that mentioned the band from the pier...they did have a band playing each night that you could hear most in the master bedroom but the pier closed at 11:00 every night so it wasn’t bad at all. We enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the music each night! The porch and rocking chairs were one of our favorite things about the house! A wonderful place to spend time with your family and enjoy all the beach has to offer!! Thank you for sharing it with us!!

We've been staying in this same house (both sides) for about 10 years on our annual golf trip. Best house location on the beach. Walk to pier, grocery, restaurants, bars, shops, etc. New deck is nice. Recently received new mattresses for the bunk rooms, but could use new mattresses for all beds.

Chairs on balcony were not stable to sit in.some lower pickets were loose on stairs.found old bag of chips under sink.ants were bad in master bedroom.called maintainance but cancelled.because we didnt want to spray around our grandkids.

It really is a good location,smack dab next to garden city pier. So walking distance to lots of stuff but this also means that traffic is kind of an issue and traffic sounds. Or karaoke sounds from the pier lol. Steps from the beach. Downsides to make you aware of would be cost of linen is more than the average and the Internet is not good. When we called about it we were told that “everyone usually uses their own data”. The library 8 min away has great internet though. Mattresses worn bad and need to be replaced and back door needs a screen so you can listen to ocean without bugs. Most of this is trivial and they can improve on

This is a nice house. Very roomy, comfortable beds. The best part is the proximity to the Garden City Pier. On thing is that the kitchen is very poorly equiped. There is too much of some things and none of other things. Even if you don't cook much it is a bit difficult. I counted over 55 dinner plates and dozens of smaller plates, but not one cookie sheet or pizza pan. Only one small casserole dish. the worst part was that the place was infested with ants. At first, they were only in the kitchen, but they made their way to the bedrooms in the second story as well. When we reported it, the Realty company sent someone over right away. Another thing that was disturbing was that there were workers working on the other side of the duplex. They blocked our cars in on several occassions. A man came to our door with a key for our unit saying that he was supposed to work on ceiling damage but it turned out that the Realty company gave him the key for the wrong side of the duplex. Another worker tried to get into our unit with the excuse that he thought that the door to our unit was a closet.

Awesome Vacation Rental
We enjoyed our stay at this beach rental. It was close to the pier in Garden City. A live band on one end and karaoke on the other end. Great view of the ocean. Great customer service on a maintenance issue. Very prompt response. I would suggest adding a grill for outdoor cooking. Overall very happy.
