Beautiful and spacious home. Within walking distance of everything in Bar Harbor.
Weather was pretty rainy with Tropical Storm Lee just off the coast. Thank goodness for this spacious home. Plenty of space for grandkids to play.

Everything about the stay was great. Right next to downtown and the walk to Bar Island. A huge house with everything you need. Simple check-in and friendly hosts!

I had never been to Bar Harbor and spent hours scrutinizing various locations, trying to figure out if this house was in a “good spot”. I will save you the work - it is!!! We LOVED this house and you cannot get any closer to restaurants, boats, beaches, lobster, shops, ice cream and more! Yet it still feels private. It’s a gorgeous house with everything you could possibly need. We loved being so close to the sandbar and spent hours everyday on the back porch. Easy drive to Acadia. We were pleasantly surprised to see fans and air conditioners running when we got there in August.
Overall, just the most magical place to spend time with family and friends! My favorite Vrbo property to date!!

There was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was well equiped. Some of our family members we’re working online and there were several areas to insure privacy etc. close to shopping , interesting places to eat.

Perfect location! Being only a short walk into town was great! No worries about parking. More than enough room to accommodate our guests comfortably. just a beautiful space and comfortable stay.

Our family had a wonderful stay for a long holiday. The home's location is great -- walking distance to everything in town and a short drive in to Acadia. The home is incredibly comfortable; even in the late fall during a colder spell, we had no concerns about heat despite the age of the home. The owners were easy to contact and quick to respond. Would absolutely recommend!

Wonderful week in Bar Harbor! 10 adults (3 couples and 4 singles) enjoyed the close proximity to town, shops, grocery store and restaurants- all walking distance. Dining table big enough for us all! Lots of places in the house to gather and we especially enjoyed the patio and sunroom. Thank you for a great time in your historic home!

The good. Location, location, location. Wonderful space for large groups. Beautiful home. The bad. The owners should invest money in repairing thing like broken toilet tissue holders, rugs with holes, very dirty couches and moldy shower curtains. The ugly, the property management company should check their cleaners. So much dust, even in the bath tubs. If you are going to charge a large cleaning fees then it should be clean and the guest should not be responsible for doing the laundry and putting all the dishes away after the dishwasher finishes but before you leave. Overall, loved the property and would stay again.

We are all so glad we choose this property instead of our first choice 2 years ago. (Thank you Covid!!) I hadn't even realized that the sand bar was just down the street from the back yard. Walking to everything was a huge help when you have 14 people. Just 4-5 blocks got us where we needed to be. Grocery store is only 2 blocks away. Lots of space in the house for all of us and the backyard was great for the grandkids to run off all their energy. We all went to the beach every day looking for sea creatures- and found some. 2 families rented ebikes just down the street and rode out to Acadia. This historic home was a joy to stay in!! Would recommend to everyone!!

The home is perfect for multiple families or friends. Kitchen is well equipped, and home amenities are all provided.
The only suggestion I would make is to add window AC units for the 3rd floor bedrooms.
Other than that, the house is perfect. Our family hopes to return in the future. Thank you for an amazing vacation!

Cool house,Perfect location
We loved the quirky old house. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The location was ideal - right on bridge street by bar island access. Easy bike ride to Acadia. House was very well stocked. Great for a big group.

The location of this house cannot be beat! Two block to grocery, 3 blocks to town, maybe 5 blocks to the Island Explorer, and right beside the path to the sand bridge. This is a comfortable house for a large group - plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen.

We stayed at this beautiful house with our large family which included 7 adults and 7 kids (aged 11-17). You absolutely can not beat the location. Everyone enjoyed being within walking distance to shops and restaurants. There are several great coffee shops that were fun to stroll to for breakfast. The land bridge was amazing and we loved catching crabs and sea snails. One thing to note is the home is older and not easy on those with mobility issues. I do have to rave about the owner for a moment. My father fell in the middle of the night and tried to catch himself with the foot board of the bed. He was himself alright but unfortunately broke the bed. My mother spoke to the owner early the next morning. She was very kind and understanding on the phone and by 1:00 that afternoon had someone deliver and set up a brand new bed. It was really well handled. Overall we had a great week and I'd highly recommend this property.

Our year long pandemic postponed stay at “Sunset” was well worth the wait. Our family of eighteen gathered to celebrate our 50th plus 1 wedding anniversary. This lovely historic seacoast home was perfect for us. It could easily and comfortably accommodate our family. It was fun to prepare meals in the well equipped kitchen and enjoy them in the dining room with water views. Sunset’s location is one of its best features. It is an easy drive into Acadia and a short walk into the heart of Bar Harbor. We especially liked gathering in the spacious backyard to enjoy the view of Frenchman Bay, to play lawn games, and to stroll down to the land bridge to explore the tidal pools. Thank you, Angelique, for sharing Sunset with us. As we said our good-byes to your beautiful home, we took many special memories with us. *Sunset is appropriately named because the nightly “show” is indeed awesome!

Ideal location and plenty of room for 50th wedding anniversary celebration with our 2 children's families with 5 grand children ages 5 to 11 -- 11 people total. With Bar Harbor and Acadia packed with visitors for the 4th of July week, we had ample parking at the house, big yard for the kids to play in, easy access to Bar Island across the land bridge at low tide, and short drives to the Acadia for hiking and enjoying the Sand Beach and other sights. The Hannaford market and Walgreens pharmacy were within easy walking distance, and we were a block from the 4th of July parade route. 2 large washers and 2 large dryers kept up with everyone's laundry. Large kitchen and dining room with plenty of refrigerator / freezer space eased the challenge of feeding everyone with restaurants short staffed, and many not offering take out because of staffing. The excitement of exploring all the rooms in the house, all the shops in Bar Harbor, and all the trails and mountain tops in Acadia kept everyone busy and interested with no time to be bored or complain about waiting or about things they could not do. It will be a highlight memory for the rest of our lives.

Beautiful property within easy walking distance of downtown. House is large enough to comfortably accommodate a large gathering of family/friends and the interior is clean and well maintained. Plenty of space for dining and group activities yet still offers quaint side rooms and space for quiet time to read, nap, etc. The 3rd floor balcony offers amazing water views and unbelievable sunsets. The grounds are well maintained and provides easy access to the Bar Island land bridge. All in all a terrific home that will provide the ideal setting to enjoy all Bar Harbor has to offer.

We had a great time on our vacation. The home was much bigger than what we needed, but we really wanted to stay here because of the location, and it did not disappoint. It was great being right next to the water and the sandbar. Could walk to anywhere in town without having to look for parking, yet you were right on the outer edge so it wasn't busy or loud in the evenings, and very quick to get over to the park. Would love to come back with some of our extended family and stay again as there is plenty of room to spread out even for a larger group.

Lots of areas/rooms for members to work/conduct conference calls. The location is blocks from downtown so very convenient to restaurants, gift shops, activities with Acadia park close by.
