Absolutely stunning property to stay at for New Year's Eve. Incredible views of SLO and Morro Bay. Ryan was very communicative. Would be happy to stay here again.

We made a pitstop at the Irish Hills House and are so glad we did. The panoramic vista was awesome in the true sense of the word. Beds were super comfy and the living quarters are well equipped and spacious. Host’s Ryan, Bourbon and Cider made us feel welcome and at home. Unfortunately, Walter was asleep when we went to say hello. All in all, I’d highly recommend this VRBO offering.

This is a 10 of 10 place to stay for the views alone. I have also never stayed anywhere so quiet. The host was exceptionally helpful. There are lovely sights with a short drive of the property.

The owner was very gracious. The view is unbeatable. The place was definitely a little rundown compared to the pictures, but spoke to the owner about it and he was open to making adjustments. We stayed 2023 summer with friends and were astounded by the area and local towns and coast. Be ready to drive a narrow road to and from the house. Gorgeous! Highly recommend!

I can't summarize accurately how great our stay was. First and foremost the place is Beautiful. We were so privileged to be able to stay there.
High in the highs of SLO with beautiful Vista views of the surrounding hillsides. Quiet, restful, and peaceful the place had a real Zen feel to it.
Ryan was the best host. We saw deer, foxes, squirrels and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The place was exquisite.
Ryan was an excellent host my wife Dina and I have made a friend for life. It is a great place to stay, if you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed.
Five stars Hands down ! We loved his place.
Thanks, Ryan,
For Everything.

Ryan was an excellent host, super communicative. The photos really do not do the view justice. The drive alone to reach the pinnacle of Prefumo is worth it (make sure you warn anyone prone to car-sickness, it can be windy!). The dogs on property Bourbon and Cider are the sweetest and friendliest pups, a plus for dog-lovers. The freshly-hatched eggs from the chickens were also an unexpected perk-- best eggs ever! A great, peaceful stay. Definitely plan to bring groceries up with you-- you won't want to leave.

Ryan was extremely attentive and communicative. Bourbon and Cider and the other pets were wonderful also. We spotted many deer and some baby foxes nearby. Ryan provided many ideas for fun and beautiful places to go nearby.

Dear Ryan, Thank you so much for sharing a piece of heaven with us. The location was breath taking and a perfect place to celebrate our 30th year anniversary. It's so close to all the cool spots. SLO is my stomping grounds and we can't wait to visit again. In addition, thank you so much for quickly taking care of the issue that we encountered when we arrived, mother nature can be so unpredictable. The two pups(Bourbon and Cider) are such sweeties! My husband felt in love with Walter the tortoise and the chickens. We were so happy when we got a few of the fresh eggs, thank you! Lastly, I'm very sorry about your Dad's situation, wishing him a fast recovery.

The view is spectacular no doubt about it! However the propane had ran out and we could not cook, take showers or have central heat. The host was very nice and gave us a heater but being that it was in a Sunday there was no way to get propane brought up ASAP. We were only staying two days so we had to rough it. We were in town for a wedding and getting ready was a bit of a challenged and there was mouse poop and urine in one of the beds. I guess the house had been empty for a little while but it was unfortunate for my daughter who was assigned to that bed with her 5 month baby who she is still nursing and needed a clean place for the baby.

We enjoyed beautiful views, a generous host and great animal friends! This was a perfect relaxing location for a family get-together. Property was better than advertised.

Great location to visit both SLO and Avila for fall apple picking. Our group had a great time at the Irish house enjoying the views and all the wildlife. Ryan was very accommodating and the kids loved playing with Bourbon and Cider.
Thanks again for a great weekend Ryan,
Cheers,
Matt

Ryan and his two beautiful dogs (Bourbon and Cider) were great hosts. He was very helpful and the dogs are so gentle and well behaved. The drive up the canyon road was well worth it to see such magnificent views of San Luis Obispo. We highly recommend this property and will stay there on our next visit.

This property is gorgeous! We so enjoyed watching the clouds roll in and out meanwhile always below us so we could admire the sun and moon amongst the rolling hills.

Amazing views and great communication lead to a great stay. We enjoyed every minute of it and took advantage of the great recommendations provided. We loved the San Luis Obispo Farmer's Market and surfing at Pismo Beach. Reco to stop at a lovely bakery in Los Almos on our drive south was a perfect respite. Loved the dogs and esp Walter!

This one-night stay was one of the highlights of our trip to the area. We were meeting up with friends we never get to see, and this allowed us plenty time to relax, enjoy a meal, and take in a gorgeous sunset. We wish we could have stayed longer!
This wasn't a problem for us, but one of the beds is located in the common area. Just something to consider if you're someone who needs complete privacy. It didn't alter our experience at all, though. We'd absolutely stay here again and really appreciated the friendliness of our host (and Bourbon, Cider, Walter, and the chickens)!

MAJOR PROS:
* Stunning views! The marine layer makes it all the more intriguing. Also be sure to look up at the stars at night!
* The host, Ryan, is like a B&B host of the past. He lives on the property with his super sweet pups, and even brought us cookies.
* Close to beaches, hikes, stores. We went to Avila Beach one day and to Morro Bay twice. My friends went hiking all three days and enjoyed it.
* Well-stocked property, incl. coffee, kitchen supplies, even a crossword puzzle that I enjoyed.
* Beds (I slept on the king) super comfy, even for me with back problems. I can see why he includes the model information on his listing.
CONS:
This doesn't alter my great stay, but good to know for future visitors:
* Bugs - bring bug spray/citronella for patio. I live in a part of CA with very few bugs, so I forgot that in the "country" they are gonna be around.
* Warm indoors due to hillside sun, AC upstairs only. I run super hot and was staying downstairs, so this was a challenge for me. I aimed the fan right at me in the bed but the first night it was so hot I had to put ice on my neck. We kept blinds down, windows open and fans running the other days and it was better but I was still a little warm.
* Bed layout - king in living/dining instead of in a private bedroom. Not an issue for us cause I stay up way late, but a point to note for others.
Overall, an amazing experience, eager to return!

What an amazing view! Came here with another family and we all had such an amazing time. Ryan and the pups were extremely friendly and welcoming. Ryan was fast to answer all questions and gave wonderful recommendations for our families to o enjoy during our time here. Thank you again!

We had a great (although too short) stay here- views are absolutely incredible. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset from here- so magical! Ryan was such a thoughtful host- everything from directions to local hiking to leaving a basket of fresh eggs on our doorstep were so appreciated. Ryan goes out of his way to make sure his guests have everything that they need. Bourbon and Cider were a pleasure to have around . We look forward to coming back again soon .

We were captivated by the views and adored the greetings from the dogs, tortoise, and chickens. Ryan is accommodating and prompt to respond as a host. We would recommend updating the listing to better set guest expectations as a one bedroom dwelling (with two queens). There is a non-private king located in the main room/living room. There is an additional queen bed cubby upstairs, which could be fun for kiddos, but may not be suitable for hot nights (no window for ventilation). Overall great stay once the listing is clear.

We had the most wonderful week at Ryan’s home. We loved playing basketball with a view and petting Bourbon and Cider. Ryan was a great host and this location is amazing. The views are great and everything we did was an easy 20-25 minute drive.

Irish Hills was a stunning, peaceful, unparalleled stay!
The ever changing, always captivating views are the backdrop to bird sounds and fresh air.
The spot is tucked away enough to feel in another world but easily accessible to SLO and Morro Bay.
Cider and Bourbon were such a delight and made my dogs feel at home:)
Ryan is the best host! He recommended the best dining, beach, dog friendly spots and offered all the attention or solitude needed:)
The coziest beds and well equipped kitchen made the stay a breeze!
Thank You for sharing paradise with us:):)

We really enjoyed the incredible beauty and comfort of the property, the great communication and helpfulness of Ryan and the friendliness of Bourbon and Cider. It was also terrific how dog friendly the property was an how well stocked the kitchen was. Additionally, the chickens, fresh eggs and interaction with Walter the tortoise really added to the fantastic experience that our family had

Ryan was a very welcoming host. He made sure to greet us when we arrived along with Cider and Bourbon. We briefly chatted about the house and he made recommendations for wineries around the area. After that he pretty much gave us to our privacy. We loved Bourbon and Cider and the tortoise too. The views were amazing and we would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for hosting a much needed weekend getaway!

The views are breathtaking. Get up early, enjoy some coffee or tea while you take in the sites, bird watch, or just connect with the environment around all you. The beds and linen were very comfortable. Overall the best choice for the San Luis Obispo/Pismo Beach/Morro bay area. The house is centrally located for all of them, and close to many activities and wineries.

As an adoptive family with 4 children who all turned out to have special needs, our vacations consisted of an RV on BLM desert land where they would be safe, and we could control the environment.
With a son who is still with us at 28, and functionally a toddler, that is still the frame of reference in our getaways. Irish Hills was a perfect respite for all of us. Safe, clean, easy to navigate, with the comforts of home that he needed with all the beauty around us that we could take in. The recent rains have made this part of the state an absolute paradise, with this property commanding stellar views in every direction.
We had a couple of tiny issues which Ryan corrected immediately. He was a wonderful host, enjoyable to talk to and his pups were sweet and engaging. April was a perfect month to visit. The surrounding areas held many sites and tastes to please everyone. Super Happy with our choice.
