Great comfortable stay in Venice beach

We like to walk around the neighborhood as a family and it’s LA so there are some streets that should be avoided at certain times, but thats not The owners fault! We enjoyed the beach area but there was a lot of drugs, homeless, and a couple confrontational mentally ill people. However, the home was beautiful and we had a great stay on our way to Hawai’i. Perspective-wise, we are from Maine so LA is like a different country to us. Thank you!

We loved our stay in this over 100 year old charming craftsman style home. Totally renovated with all the modern features and comforts you need for a great vacation in Venice. The home is well stocked with all the basic essentials you need. We especially enjoyed the comfort and beauty of the front porch! Excellent communication with Shana. If renting a car, rent smaller not larger. Single parking spot is tight but convenient right next to house. We found the neighborhood very pleasant and quiet.

We had a great stay - we were in LA visiting colleges for our high school son. Staying here allowed us to enjoy the beach as well and was easy access to some great restaurants both in Venice and Santa Monica! Highly recommend!

House is super clean, sunny and in a great location, easy walk to beach and shopping. Updated interior, kitchen and baths are clean with everything we needed. Parking available for one car only and it can’t be a big suv, that’s the only downside but again, a short walk if you have to find parking elsewhere. Owner was quick to respond when needed and very helpful. Will definitely stay again.

My family and I stayed at Shana’s house for a long weekend. The house is extremely clean with new amenities. The location is perfect if you’re looking to stay in Venice. It’s nestled between Main Street, Abbott Kinney and the beach. Shana was easy to communicate with and was very responsive. I would recommend this place.

We loved our first LA experience and feel that we chose well by staying here! My wife and I travelled with three children ages 26,18, and 16. This house is older but has been beautifully renovated and is well decorated. The creaking floors reminded us of older homes with personality back in the south in Charleston, SC. Shana is a wonderful host - gracious and quick to reply to any questions we had. I highly recommend this place to up to 5 people (or more if using an air mattress provided!) looking for comfort, style, every modern convenience you’d want in a cool craftsman cottage. Parking is provided -there is a single space provided behind the house but use caution as it is tight on these quaint alleys - no problem for a sedan but an SUV wouldn’t make the turns - there is plenty of street parking on Main a few steps from the house. I hope you enjoy this home as much as we did!

House was comfortable and clean. Parking for SUV was sufficient and right next to the house.porch was perfect place for morning coffee or afternoon glass of vine. Walking distance to Venice beach and very convenient. Kitchen well equipped with coffee machines and everything you will ever need. Beds super comfortable and overall 5 star

My adult daughter, infant granddaughter and I stayed at the house while visiting family. It is an older house that has been totally renovated. We had a good time and would return if we visit again!

Beautifully appointed! We went to the Hollywood Bowl and visited local sights. Loved coming back to this home to relax and renew. Kitchen and bathrooms are modern and very clean. Beds were comfortable so we slept well. Excellent!

The home is amazing! Bright and cozy plus everything you need. Great amenities and located close to everything. We had a little issue checking in, but all was fixed within an hour. Highly recommend staying here!

Shana's cottage is perfect for a Venice trip! It is walking distance from all that Venice has to offer - the beach, restaurants and shops. It is well decorated and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay!

The location is fantastic. You can walk to the beach and also walk to many great restaurants and stores. Shana is great to work with as well.

This house is perfect for a family with a young child, they have all of the amenities (pack and play, high chair, changing pad, beach toys). Loved the front porch. We loved the walk down to the beach, very close to great food and shopping and the boardwalk. All of the amenities are available for anything you need. The host was VERY responsive and helpful! It was difficult to locate the property. Better directions to find it may be helpful. Only negative is the parking situation was really bad. It’s VERY difficult to find additional street parking for one vehicle even blocks away. Plus the streets are so skinny they were difficult to navigate in our rental cars. I highly recommend this rental!

We stayed here for a high school graduation for the weekend. It was perfect! Kitchen well equipped and had everything we needed! Neighborhood was quiet and accommodations very comfortable.

My family (2 adults and a 17-year old son) spent a full week here in June 2022 as our first 'big' post-Covid vacation. After two years only in North Carolina, it was a wonderful change of scenery. The location is a perfect launching-pad to explore a large swath of L.A. Venice is funky, artsy, and trendy. The location of the house is walkable to many restaurants and shops near the beach. It's even walkable to the trendy stuff on Abbott Kinney, but the route there is not uniformly attractive. We walked to most places in Venice and took the car when it was further. Walking to the canals from the house was a breeze. From this property, we spent a week all over town: Paramount Studios, Academy of Motion Pictures Museum, Peterson Museum, La Brea, Venice Beach, Will Rogers Park, downtown, UCLA, Pasadena, etc. etc. Yes, L.A. has lots of traffic, but the location of this house never discouraged us from getting out to explore. One thing about the house, parking is TIGHT! We had a rental Camry but if you rent/drive anything bigger, be sure to get the Loss Damage Waiver from your rental company :) Use Google Maps to the house and look at 'street view' to know what you're looking for. But that's the charm of the place! The reserved spot was always available and we never worried for about the car, or 'where to park'. Now, the house. OMG. The pictures are indeed accurate. It is literally as nice as you see. Clean as a whistle. Amazingly well equipped and well stocked. TV, WiFi, kitchen, linens, utensils, etc. Perfect. Keurig, Nespresso, Wolf range. Bella! Absolutely zero issues. Whoever did the design/furnishing should win an award. From the exterior, it seems like it'd be tiny -- but on the inside it felt great. Bedrooms were comfortable and quiet, and bathrooms were plenty large and beautifully designed. High end fixtures and appliances throughout. The aesthetic is modern, but not sterile. Washer and dryer were absolutely clutch! This isn't a house for a family of 5 or 6... but for my family of 3, it was perfect. (We did very light shopping at the local Ralphs and Erehwon for munchies and drinks, but never ate a 'meal' at the house because well, why on earth would you cook on vacation when you're in the food Mecca of LA? :) Let's talk communication with Shana, the host. It was 100% perfect. Fast, clear, helpful, and crazy friendly. IOW: perfect. Would we stay there again? HECK YES!

The place was lovely and renovated very beautifully.. It was a 5min walk to the beach and shops. It was so close to Santa Monica Pier and close enough for us to be able to go to Universal Studios as well. We didnt need to worry about parking and had everything we needed to have the perfect relaxing beach getaway we needed as a family. Definitely going to be booking the place again if we ever go back. To top it off, Shana was so responsive as well. Hidden Gem for sure at Venice beach.

This place was exactly as advertised. It really is just as cozy and beachy as it looks online. It was well stocked and everything you would need for a beach vacation was there. The only issue we had was the tight driveways and parking, but we made it work. I would make sure you get a smaller car if renting one.
