Thich Nhat Hanh

We had this trip planned for quite some time and were so looking forward to the stay. This rental did not disappoint. It is a peaceful historical property. that is simply beautiful and charming. The property manager Rebecca is wonderful and quickly answered questions we had. She made us feel very welcome here. We found Pass Christian by accident 20 years ago and vowed we would come back to this charming town... We do plan to visit again and hope to stay at this wonderful home. The "little kitchen" is well equipped and delightful. We made several seafood dinners here. We had a rocky time getting here from Minnesota - dealing with snowstorms in Iowa - but so well worth the trip. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Great location, close proximity to the beach, restaurants and stores, with a nice fenced yard for pets. We enjoyed the screened patio and fireplace too. The bedroom and den were spacious and had everything needed to prepare a full meal or enjoy takeout. It was nice, thank you!

What a wonderful place to spend Thanksgiving! The cabin has a great full kitchen, is well stocked with utensils, and the host has anticipated any need a visitor might have. So comfortable, and the yard was so fun to be able to walk around with the pugs. We appreciated every detail, and we had such a nice time in charming Pass Christian. The Cat Island coffee and book shop had some great special books, and Sea Level and Shaggy’s were fun to visit. The scenic drive was beautiful along the beach road. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

One word comes to mind when I think of Pass Christian and this quaint little cabin…magical. It is one of the most serene and peaceful places I have ever stayed. Sitting on the screen porch at night with a roaring fire and then being in the same spot in the morning drinking coffee and listening to the birds sing. The cabin is small but well stocked with everything you need. It’s close proximity to the beach was awesome. If I had a complaint it would be that the mattress was not as comfy as it could be and the bathroom sink drains really slowly. Both minor issues compared to everything else. Will definitely book again.

Our second stay. Really enjoyed the updated screened in porch

First, the cottage is adorable. The large fenced in yard was a big winner with our two dogs. It was so well equipped with anything you could possibly need, especially for food preparation. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were a pleasant surprise.
We will absolutely return. Rebecca was very responsive and answered any question we had.

Perfect & relaxing place to stay. Historic cabin with modern finishes, everything was comfortable & nice. Great A/C & loved the screen porch - would love to come back when it cools off so we could try out the fireplace!! Our dogs loved the huge fenced in yard.
I’ve read other reviews about having problems with the French doors - once we figured it out, we had no problems. My recommendation for the instructions would be to say “turn knob up” instead of “lift knob”
We loved the cabin & Pass Christian, already planning another trip❤️

We loved the cabin and the property! It was 100+ degrees during our stay and the pool was so much fun and the air conditioning in the cabin the best I've ever felt. My husband never even complained one time of being hot inside. The porch is beautiful and its nice being screened in from flying bugs. The owner always answered the phone and was nice and helpful. The location was the best, close to all the fun stuff in Port St Louis, and walmart in long beach. My kids loved the yard and looking for bugs, lizards, and frogs and the dog always watching over them. It was great first vacation for our service dog in training. The cabin was clean and smelled clean. It was a great perk to see the cooking oils, salt, pepper, tinfoil ect! The paper towels and toilet paper were even better quality than I've had in other places. We really loved this quiet get away for our family and we really relaxed here. Thank you for this special place with a special history behind it. We can't wait to come back.

Slight hiccup with the check-in process, but the manager was great to have it corrected right away. We took three dogs with us, and it was a great property for having pets (fully fenced yard), with plenty of room for them to run around. Screened in porch was great, furniture was clean, and the beds were comfortable (even the sleeper sofa!). Only small complaint would be that the previous renters hadn’t completely picked up after their dogs, but as dog owners, we understand that it’s possible to miss some here and there.

Neighborhood was great.

Check in/out was super easy. No need to contect the property manager about anything. There's a small charcoal BBQ on site and a few pool/beach toys. Kitchen was small but well appointed with everything one needs to cook a decent meal from the local "catch of the day". We lucked out with no neighbors being home during our stay so it was very quiet. We loved the Cat Island Cafe down the street for breakfast/coffee, and theres some good night life and themed restaurants over in Bay St. Louis if you're into that kind of thing.
Overall, great stay. Even the pull out sofa bed was comfortable. Oh and the dogs loved the yard too. They even provide dog bowls just in case you forgot yours!

Wow, just wow!! We were so amazed with the cleanliness of the property and convenience to the beach and restaurants. We frequently visit the casino in Bay St. Louis, but were looking for a place more low key and pet friendly. This is definitely the place we were looking for!! We enjoyed hearing the train come through and listening to all the birds while on the screened in porch. Our Boston Terrier had so much fun fetching his frisbees in the fenced in yard. We have already booked for next summer!!

The house is absolutely adorable and the property is wonderful. It is slightly further from the beach that we anticipated because we are accustomed to the truly "on the beach" houses of FL. This is NOT that. The walk is short - you cut through the backyard and the yard of the owner and then have to cross a slightly busy street. We actually drove over in the mornings with our chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc., and then left things set up all day, walking back and forth as we needed things from the house. The beach is deserted and the sand is actually very nice.
Our dog loved the yard and we loved the house! I had a question the first day we arrived and the owner responded right away. If you're looking for a cute place to stay for a couple or small family, close to the beach, book this house!

Great little cabin: I stayed for the week with my granddaughter and we had a very nice time. The property and neighborhood are beautiful and the house is well equipped.

Loved this peaceful cabin and screened in room. Some regular maintenance was needed, but nothing that interfered with our enjoyment of our stay. An instruction sheet for the appliances would be helpful. Took a bit of trial to figure out the burners and dishwasher. Just some helpful suggestions.

Love Love Love! Perfect for us. We brought firewood and had a wonderful fireplace experience on the fabulous porch. Sweet kitchen. Thoughtful jack and jill bathroom. Best thing for our dogs to run and play! Pool looked nice. Beach was pretty close. Cannot wait to go back!

This cabin has been beautifully renovated. It was very homey and the screened in porch was amazing! A quick walk across the street and you can watch the sunset on the beach. A walk down the historic E Scenic Drive to see the gorgeous homes is a must!!

This is a beautiful, charming stay in the heart of Pass Christian. If you’re looking for a relaxing and comfortable visit that sits on the beach, then this is it! And has a history fan, it’s even better!

We really like the Teddy Roosevelt cottage. Our dogs especially had a great time in the enclosed fence.
The only thing that was frustrating was the key to the door. It was difficult to lift up the handle and try and turn the key.

We had a great time at this property! Super clean, has everything we need, convenient to BSL, parks, and the beach. We also enjoyed the pool. With children and a dog, the property being fully fenced and the pool separately fenced is a huge safety plus for us. We’ll definitely be back!

Great for Dogs but not Humans. Rental reeked of dog urine. Great space for dogs to roam. Furniture in rental very old, shabby and uncomfortable. Could not sit in chairs in bedroom for fear of breaking. Mattress very lumpy. I understand it was built in the 1920's but a little effort could be put in to make it clean and comfortable. Even the coffeemaker was an old cheap Mr. Coffee and the carafe did not go with the coffeemaker. Locks on doors do not function properly and evidently has been that way since 2017 according to guest records in rental. Had to call the property manager twice about the doors and ended up not being able to use the double doors to screened porch area at all. We checked out a day early because this rental was so very uncomfortable and smelled so bad. If you have dogs your dog would LOVE this place. Plus side is the location and the screened porch and the large space which dogs could enjoy and be safe.

This cabin was amazing. It was in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, close to the beach, & the enclosed screened in porch area was the best for rest & relaxation. Loved hearing all the birds chirping & watching them. Perfect place to bring your pet. Our 11 year old chocolate lab loved it just as much as we did. We’ll be back! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Five stars aren’t enough for this incredible property. It broke our hearts to leave, and we’ll be back again and again. Just pack your toothbrush and book this cabin. It has everything you could possibly need and more. It felt like grown up luxury summer camp. The layout is brilliant, the bed is comfortable, the screened porch is a slice of breezy heaven, the decorative details are interesting and beautiful, the bright windows give constant glimpses out to the water, the stunning oak trees, the stone patio, the seabirds flying overhead. When exploring the grounds with our dogs, we had a sense of overwhelming gratitude to the owners for sharing their home with visitors like us. We had many plans for our weekend, but happily cancelled most of them to stay in and play board games on the porch while our dogs played in the yard or snoozed nearby. It was one of the most relaxing and refreshing getaways we’ve ever taken, and we’ve taken many. I could go on and on with positive feedback. Thank you, Teddy’s Cabin! We can’t wait to visit again! (P.S. - we noticed and appreciated that other guests with dogs seemed to have cleaned up after them in the yard - it’s not always the case at dog friendly rentals!)

Just returned from a holiday weekend (New Years) at this great home. If you are looking for something close to the beach without paying beachfront prices (and are okay with 'peekaboo' views of the ocean) and don't need tons of space or TVs everywhere, this place is fantastic! The home is well appointed with everything you could need thoughtfully arranged. You are a short walk to the beach and minutes from everything in town.
This property is ideal for a someone looking for a retreat and needs a little space. The outdoor covered area is phenomenal. Would've loved to have been here in the warmer months to see the greenery, but it looks fantastic. As noted previously (in other reviews) the locks are a little cumbersome, but nothing that can't be overcome with patience and practice.
This great property is billed as a retreat of sorts. The only drawbacks I can share are that you are adjacent to a very busy 4-lane road that separates you from the beach. While the home is set off the roadway a good bit, I was surprised at the road noise particularly being off-season. Additionally, renters should be aware of the relative close proximity of an extremely noisy train line that has trains come thru several times throughout the day and night absolutely blaring the air horn. This is certainly not the owners fault, but does take away from the tranquility of this place. The community would do well to engage the railroad in establishing quiet zones (it can be done). Additionally, this home does not have curtains on every window and sometimes feel you (at least me) are a bit like in a fish bowl. For city dwellers, that may be a bit unnerving.
Finally, I messaged the owner about an issue with the fireplace during our stay which was quite dirty upon our arrival, but never got a response. It wasn't a big deal; but still...
A wonderful home in a great location if you can tolerate the above. I still highly recommend!!
