Staying at the eco house was such a treat - we were surrounded by nature the whole time and really loved relaxing on the deck

We loved our stay on the Johnny Horn Trail! The outdoor shower and view are better than advertised & the host couldn’t have been more wonderful.
Would highly recommend and stay again on our next visit. The trek up the trail isn’t as steep as it sounds depending on what you’re used to, but AWD/4WD is a must. The Jeep and Subaru forester handled it fine but the rental agency gave us a 2WD Pathfinder on Day 1 & it never stood a chance.

Property was absolutely as represented. By our fourth day we had mastered the intimidating drive up to the house. We had five in our group- house would be perfect for 4. Loved the outside shower and spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck. Great hike over to Watermelon and close access to the restaurants (including Skinny Legs) in Coral Bay. We had a wonderful time- thank you!

Our stay was so great! The house was better than I imagined. The view from the covered porch was magical and the outdoor shower was heaven. The hummingbirds were a constant source of entertainment. I would definitely stay here again. The host was very easy to communicate with and there was even a homemade key lime pie in the freezer for us! It was delicious.

Our family (2 kids ages 10 and 12) stayed in Coral Bay for 4 nights in July and had a blast. The house is in a remote location up a very steep, rocky road, so you have lots of privacy and an amazing view. The road is no joke - you definitely need 4WD. The kids enjoyed the hammock on the deck and we all loved the outdoor shower. Down the hill nearby there’s easy access to Skinny Legs, a couple other restaurants, and a small market Love City. The house has plenty of space and is very clean.

This was our second time staying at Johnny Horn Trail and it was perfection as usual! The house itself is great and the views of Coral Bay are breathtaking! My family loves the open air concept and the outdoor shower is always a hit!
The owner Sarah was amazing to work with! She was super accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect!!
We will continue to stay at their great house for years to come!!

Johnny horn eco house is a must to stay at on St. John. So much nature to see Lizards in the tree top multiple species of birds deer and donkeys. The location is perfect to go to any beach or hiking trail.

We had a lovely stay at the Eco House! The property is as described/pictured and has *everything* you need for a stay that is perfectly comfortable, but yet a little bit off-grid and more adventurous. We loved the shower! We were worried about hot water with 5 of us showering after returning from beach days, but not an issue! The hummingbirds were fun to feed and we loved the open air, the view, the chatty birds, and the white outdoor lights at night. The road (...trail really) leading up to the house is no joke!!! Thankful we had a Jeep and read the reviews on it. It's a great little house!

We loved our stay except for the drive. It is just a bit rutted and steep but makes it all an adventure! The house is so serene and we loved the outdoor space to relax and watch the birds. The kitchen is well stocked. There really was nothing lacking for us to stay for 10 days. If you want to get away this may be perfect. Also you will be pretty close to Skinny Legs and some East End beaches. Walk to the top of the hill and watch the sunrise!

This was the 2nd visit to St John, Coral Bay, and we love it. The Eco House was perfect and had everything we needed. The host was attentive and answered our questions right away. We spent our evenings on the back deck absorbing the beautiful view and stars. Hummingbirds visited the feeder all day. We even had a visit from a tree frog! The house has plenty of windows and never felt hot. The nighttime breeze was heavenly. The road to the house is the beginning of the Johnny Horn Trail and is VERY steep. You WILL need 4 wheel drive. We hiked the Johnny Horn trial to Waterlemon Bay and it was a fun hike with plenty of ruins to see. The hike is not for anyone who isn’t used to hiking. Bring plenty of water. I’m getting off track here. Lol. I LOVED the outside shower! Did I mention there is room for 2. Best way to conserve water! I highly recommend the Eco House for your stay. However, it is NOT a luxury house, but if you want the basics with a super comfy bed, this place is perfect! We highly recommend the Eco House. ❤️ we will return

What a wonderful time we had. Just the best place ever. The view is so beautiful and we really enjoyed the privacy. The outdoor shower is such a bonus. Nothing like washing up outside after a day on the beach. The house had everything you could ask for. Fully loaded kitchen and all the beach gear you would want. We will be back VERY soon for sure!

A perfect nature retreat. Feels like you’re in the trees. Beautiful view of the harbor! Easy access to the Johnny Horn trail over to spectacular snorkeling at Waterlemon Bay. Clean and well-stocked with towels, chairs and snorkel gear if you do not bring your own.

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 week stay with 3 adult children joining us during part of our stay. We had plenty of room for all. The setting was beautiful, nestled in the tree tops overlooking Coral Bay. We all thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor shower and lovely deck. Both were perfect following a beautiful day of hiking and snorkeling. We enjoyed hiking to Waterlemon Cay and Brown Bay from the villa. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the property manager who provided wonderful information about the island and made check in a breeze. We look forward to staying here again. Super cute 2 bedroom bungalow 300 ft above the waters of Coral Bay, tucked into the trees. Very private and romantic, the veranda makes this property worth it. The afternoon sun can be a little bright, so a sunshade is good, since there is no A/C.
The bungalow is fully kitted out, snorkel gear, beach towels, and kitchen is ready with pots/pans/plates but no oven.
There are fans in every room, which adds to the tropical ambience. The ambience doesn’t stop there, the only shower is an outdoor Caribbean fantasy, big enough for two, tall enough for even a 6’7” man. Believe it or not, the Love Market in Coral Bay is less expensive than Cruz Bay stores. The road is definitely 4x4 - I only wanted to make one round trip a day, so buy everything on your way back from the beach before heading up! Beds are memory foam, full size, so a little cozy on hot nights. There are bug nets on the beds, one is a canopy - fort style and the other is a circular “princess” style more fit for kiddos.
If you’re looking for a “place away from it all” then definitely stay here.

Our stay at the house was absolutely perfect for us - nothing beats waking up with the sun and stepping out onto a deck that makes you feel like you are completely alone nestled among the tree tops. The house had everything we needed, including all the gear for snorkeling at all of the beaches on the island. The drive up the mountain was intimidating at first, but we became pros by the end!!! The size and space was perfect for us, and being right on the trail made for an excellent (though strenuous) hike to and from waterlemon cay. Would highly recommend staying here - we plan to come again!!!

Quite a rough incline to get to location, but pretty short drive compared to other properties. Bathroom is set up a little weird with toilet and sink indoors and shower and sink outdoors, but really was quite nice. HUGE shower! 2 bedrooms with privacy curtains vs doors and futon in open floor plan for kitchen dining are made it comfortable for family of 5. Books, games and random supplies for guest use in bathroom. Great view from patio area.

Secluded, soothing, and amazing
The house was everything we wanted. We spent every morning and night on the deck, looking at the view and hanging with the iguanas and birds. The outdoor shower was amazing. The driveway was not that bad, after day 2 you get use to it. You must eat at Ekaete atleast once, we really enjoyed our meal there.

St. John Glamping
So many great things about the property - super clean, fantastic outdoor shower, beautiful deck, beautiful view, and peaceful solitude and quiet. We loved the tree frogs, birds, lizards, and goats that were always around. Our family of 5 had plenty of room and we had a great week. Things to be aware of: to get to the house it is a steep climb up a basically washed out road that is all rocks - can't do it without 4-wheel drive and if you get car sick not a great trip up and down; dishwasher is broken; and although the site said access to washer/dryer for stays of 7 nights or more we were not able to access. Thought it would be nice without air conditioning but some nights it was fairly hot and humid and hard to sleep. There are fans by each bed that help but if you aren't used to sleeping without air it will be tough. Take bug spray for the deck and the beaches, that also helped a lot.

Beautiful view and secluded location.
My family had great time at this cute cottage. Simple but had everything we needed. The deck and view is amazing. The road up is rough and is not for everyone. Also the screens need to be replaced or updated. The island is recovering from hurricane Irma, beautifully. I was amazed at how much work has been done. Snorkeling is really starting to return as well. Thank you
