Ubicado a solo tres cuadras del campus de WNMU en el extremo norte de la ciudad (y al lado de nuestro otro alquiler de vacaciones: Casa # 477174), una casa de vacaciones espaciosa, luminosa de un dormitorio y un baño se siente como una 'casa del cielo' y fue el inspiración para el nombre español 'Casa Cielo'. Encaramado en una cresta con excelentes vistas a las tierras altas de Nuevo México, este vecindario tranquilo en las afueras de la ciudad ofrece la comodidad de vivir en la ciudad con la sensación de un refugio de montaña. Las plantaciones nativas lo rodean y un camino de entrada gira alrededor de él con un estacionamiento fuera de la calle. Diseñado por su arquitecto / propietario a mediados de los años cincuenta, el plan simple y eficiente incluye una chimenea de mampostería con un calentador de convección incorporado para la comodidad del invierno en la generosa sala de estar. El amplio dormitorio está provisto de amplio espacio de almacenamiento incorporado. Una cocina tipo 'galera' bien iluminada está flanqueada por un comedor separado en un lado y una gran sala de lavandería / artesanía en el otro.

We enjoyed our stay at this comfortable cottage. The location was convenient and we had plenty of room for the two of us and our older dog. We were lucky to have some sunshine and rain - all in the same afternoon! The views from the small patio were great. We look forward to staying here again.

We just got back from spending 4 nights at the Casita. It is a lovely little bungalow, the perfect size for one or two people. It is well kept, comfortable, and very charming. The owners even left a much appreciated bottle of wine for us knowing we were coming to Silver City for an unpleasant family matter. The grounds are well maintained and I got to see a large family of quail hanging out while I had my morning coffee. I highly recommend staying here and it will definitely be our go-to place for future visits to Silver.

Cozy Casita
We just got back from spending 4 nights at the Casita. It is a lovely little bungalow, the perfect size for one or two people. It is well kept, comfortable, and very charming. The owners even left a much appreciated bottle of wine for us knowing we were coming to Silver City for an unpleasant family matter. The grounds are well maintained and I got to see a large family of quail hanging out while I had my morning coffee. I highly recommend staying here and it will definitely be our go-to place for future visits to Silver.

We very much enjoyed our time at this quaint mid century home. It was big enough inside and it had a great little patio area with a view of the mountains. It was a bit close to the highway so there was some noise, but above and away from it somewhat. Very low humidity here in arid area so there was a lot of electric shocking from the nylon rug which scared our dog. Bare floors or cotton or wool throw rugs might help with that?
Hosts were amazing and helpful and greeted us with a humidifier and rose wine which helped immensely. Totally recommend.

We very much enjoyed our time at this quaint mid century home. It was big enough inside and it had a great little patio area with a view of the mountains. It was a bit close to the highway so there was some noise, but above and away from it somewhat. . What a beautiful home-away-from-home! The view of the mountains is magnificent. I was captivated by watching the sunrises and sunsets from the living room.
I enjoyed the privacy of the location, and it was perfect for my study and relaxation. WiFi, TV, phone service and air conditioners are all in great order.
The place is nicely furnished, has all necessary appliances, and is very clean. The comfortable bed with the soft sheets helped me to have a restful sleep at night. I especially appreciated the laundry room with full-size washer and dryer.
The owners, Tatiana and Jim, were very pleasant and attentive, making sure everything was perfect for me.
I enjoyed my vacation tremendously. All my hopes and dreams for a long-awaited getaway were fulfilled. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. You won't be disappointed!

Nice house, but maybe not when hot
The weather was low 90s, and the house has 2 window AC units, which were not up to it. The house is lovely and has great water pressure in the shower. No cable TV, so we couldn't watch Wimbledon. But those noisy AC units need to be upgraded.

Comfortable stay!
We’ve stayed at The Casita several times and always enjoy it. We enjoy the location, the views and the comfort the home brings. Our dog loves sunbathing on the patio! Hope to be back soon.

Wonderful little cottage
I stayed here for 6 months and loved every minute of it. Loved the great views and the wildlife wandering through the property. Deer, quail right outside the window. Convenient to everything in town and yet very private. Great for short term or long term stays. The house has everything you need. Very cozy and comfortable.

Long Stay Comforts - Perfect for 2
Everything is here from beautiful vistas and wandering deer to a fully equipped kitchen with good pans and knives.
Good Internet Connection and large screen TV that allows HDMI to your equipment.
The house is clean and has a washer and dryer.
The kitchen is very usable with 1 cook handling the meals.
Good old-fashion dish-washing will help moisturize your hands in the dry climate.
The bedroom is spacious with a love seat, extra bedding and pillows and has a firm Queen bed for a very comfortable night's sleep. Plenty of closet space, too.
Quiet, relaxing yet very close to all Silver City has to offer. An easy walk to WNMU.

Beautiful views!
The house was so cozy and the windows had incredible views. We were in town for the bike race and this place was comfortable and perfect for me and my boyfriend while relaxing between races. I can't wait to come to come back next year!

Perfect Cottage, Perfect Location!!
We have just returned from a two week stay at Casa Cielo. Everything was clean and in good working order. The description of the property was accurate. We very much enjoyed the mid century modern efficiency of the cottage. So well thought out in the floor plan and total design. The views and natural lighting were a huge plus for us. If you love to hike, as we do, this will be a perfect location for you. Silver City is surrounded by trails both easy and challenging. Boston Hill, Gomez Peak, The CDT, Mineral Springs, Ft. Bayard, Cherry Creek and Tadpole just to name a few. This part of New Mexico is also rich in history and art. Everyone is friendly and you can't go wrong with having Tatiana and Jim as your hosts. We will definately be back for a longer stay next time.
