Clean property. Great location to many eateries and sight seeing locations. Limited amenities- cheap soaps, no extras, low on towels for stay and had to wash them. Light bulb out in living room. Bed comfy - older- worn mattress pad. Furniture older and not comfy when staying multiple days. Yard great for dogs. Private backyard. Cute budget friendly and no extras.

Our family of 3 stayed here for the beginning leg of our first ever trip to the Charleston area, and we could not have been happier with this adorable cottage. The courtyard out back was beautiful, we would have spent more time out there had we stayed longer. Furnishings and decor were eclectic and reflective of the locale - loved all of the vintage touches. Both beds were comfy, and the whole place was very clean. Bathroom was small but the shower was spacious and bright. The living furniture was amazingly comfortable, and a great resting spot for our evenings of watching playoff baseball after spending the days out exploring. Loved all of the windows and natural light. The area was quiet and felt safe. Great proximity to several great restaurants within walking distance - we especially loved Okra’s for a great southern seafood dinner, and Vintage Coffee for breakfast and coffee in the mornings. We walked to the boardwalk at Shem Creek a few times to see the boats and see the sunsets. Also a short drive to Patriot’s Point, the Peninsula, and so many other amazing places. This whole place was just lovely and we absolutely loved our stay.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in Charleston. We loved the location of Joe’s place and that there were several good restaurants within walking distance! It had everything we needed to cook some at the house and was comfortable. Would book again!

Little musty probably because of all the rain, the rugs could be changed out. Very convenient to restaurant’s without walking distance. This is my third visit there, will be back, love it in the Shemcreek area.

This property was great! It was so clean and you could walk to a lot of nearby restaurants. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Mount Pleasant/Shem Creek area.

This location is the best ever for Charleston! You can return in 10 minutes from downtown, truly amazing. Afterwards go to Sullivan’s Island for the sunset. You will never want to leave.

The location couldn't have been better - within walking distance to the lively Shem Creek bars and restaurants. We spent evenings savoring delicious seafood and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
Plus, it was just a short drive to the beach, and downtown Charleston was easily accessible. We had the best of both worlds - a serene escape and city excitement.
The property itself was comfortable and well-appointed, making our vacation even more enjoyable. Our only recommendation would be the clean the air vents. A few we found to be very dirty.

This property was an amazing place to stay. And we will definitely be coming back. I would say it’s perfect for adults because of the 18+ bars and restaurants all within walking distance. Its also a very short drive to drive to the beach on Sullivans Island was less than 10 minutes.

Within walking distance of so many great restaurants, and shops. Clean property with spacious kitchen. We ended up not bringing our pup but the property is pet friendly and did not have any pet smell. Would definitely stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Shem Creek neighborhood. Easy access to the beaches and downtown made a perfect family location. Beds were comfortable. Unit could use a few more food prep options (salad and mixing bowls) but otherwise it had everything we needed. Be prepared to wake early - very bright unit without any drapes in the bedrooms. Overall very happy with our stay and would recommend.

This property was just perfect. It was close to all the sights we wanted to see. The beaches were nearby. Everyone in the neighborhood was friendly, the food was great, and navigating the streets was simple. The whole trip was fabulous, and having a clean, comfortable house to return to made it even more enjoyable.

Good location, very clean and I would definitely stay again. I threw away a paper bag before I left thinking it was trash. When I got home realized I had thrown away a gift that was in that bag. I called Joe and he checked the trash and found it. He was so nice to mail it to me along with my watch I didn't realize I had also left.

I stayed at one of Joe’s properties last year. This year I stayed next door. Joe makes the process so easy. Leaves you alone unless you need him and if and when you do he answers within minutes. The house is so close to everything and walkable to Shem creek which is amazing. We will always try and stay at joes properties when we come down to visit.

The property was exactly as advertised. Clean, bright, neat and well equipped with everything one could want to make your stay enjoyable. The owner was very pleasant and we enjoyed our very short interaction. The property was also within a very short walk of several bars and restaurants. Mt. Pleasant itself lives up to its moniker. Easy to get around, safe and full of interesting things to see and do. You are also very close to Charleston, about a 10 minute drive or you can take the water taxi for something a little bit different. All in all a great two weeks.

House is located just outside of Charleston so it is easy to plan day trips to see this beautiful city. Home is well organized and there is a small outdoor space in the yard. Joe owns several properties in the neighborhood and he stopped by toward the end of our stay to check on us. Only downside was the construction going on in the neighborhood so it was noisy at times, obviously beyond anyone’s control.

The cottage was clean and had all the ameneties needed. Restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and all the ambience of a great location. It is a quiet neighborhood. We also were able to have our 15 year old dog stay with us,. which makes it special. The owner stopped by to check in with us, which was a nice touch. Thank you for a great holiday vacation.

We used this cottage as a base to explore Charleston and the nearby coast, and it was perfect for our needs—well situated for easy access to the historic district of the city as well as the beautiful beaches of Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and Folly Beach. After busy days of exploring, we loved coming back to this restful, quiet home to unwind, then moseying over to Shem Creek just a couple blocks away to watch the sunset and enjoy some seafood. The cottage is compact but beautifully designed and decorated to create a sense of spaciousness and flow. It's sparkling clean, with comfy beds and a great shower. If we ever return to Charleston, we'd definitely stay here again!
