We had the most wonderful time at the Valhalla house on the Sally Stanford Ranch. The accommodations were wonderful - comfortable and casual! Everything we needed was there. We were going to make a quick run to the store, but Judy thought of everything, so we ended up staying "home" and enjoying the house! We were there with another couple and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space is they so chose. This would be a great facility for a family reunion. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all that Valhalla had to offer! Maybe we'll be back!!

We enjoyed our 8 days at Valhalla Cottage. When looking for a place, it was hard to find a 2 bdrm+ that had 2 bathrooms, a/c and was affordable. This place meet all those needs and I was a little worried that it might be too good to be true. But as soon as we pulled up and walked in, I knew the reviews had been spot on. The Valhalla property fit the bill to a T and then some. David was very responsive to all of my questions pre and post booking, which was extremely helpful. The property had everything we needed and even things we didn’t know we needed but used. Dishes and utensils galore; great coffeemaker (and coffee), washer/dryer/iron and lots and lots of extra linens. Oh- and lots of closet space with nice hangers and even bathrobes! I could go on and on but let’s just say the hosts definitely have an eye for detail. The living room was my favorite space. The view of Mt. Hood was breathtaking. The cottage has a lot of square footage which could be a bit better arranged, but it is an older property and it suited our needs just fine. It is such a peaceful area that makes you feel you are out in the relaxing countryside; but yet you are conveniently right off the Sonoma Highway; close to Santa Rosa and Kenwood and not far from Glen Ellen or Sonoma. We were in the area for a family wedding and some of our group stayed at the Sausalito Cottage during the week too which is located beside Valhalla. If you have a large group works great to rent both units. This place is one of the cleanest, best stocked places I have rented on VRBO. I also appreciated how quickly our deposit was refunded. I would not hesitate to rent this space again. The location of the 2nd bathroom is a bit different- Just past the office with the futon, is a small one bedroom and the 2nd bathroom is just past that. You have to walk thru those two rooms to access the bathroom. So if you have someone staying in the small bedroom, it might be awkward. But it worked well for us; just not as convenient as it could be; but still very doable. We did have an issue with cell service. AT&T cell service was unreliable inside Valhalla. But there is a landline to use for backup so that worked for those we could give a number out to. That of course is no reflection on the property; but just good to know if you stay there with AT&T. The wedding we attended was at Landmark Vineyards which I would also highly recommend for a wedding venue. It was just gorgeous.

The home is set far from the road so it is very quiet and you can see the stars at night. You may have difficulty finding the driveway if, like us, you first arrived in the dark. Everything was there for breakfast--orange juice and milk and cheese in the refrigerator, and cereal in the pantry. The kitchen was well equipped with the expected cutlery and plates but also the unexpected--a toaster, tongs and other gadgets. You could prepare a meal for a crowd--the table on the porch had seating for 18. The laundry machines with detergent were also available. In summary, an excellent and convenient spot for a group-- 2 rooms with queen beds and 1 with a single. The ensuite is connected to the room with the single bed. There is a second bathroom closer to the two other bedrooms.

This is our fourth year of visiting the Sally Stanford Ranch, and our first at Valhalla house. It is by far the best vacation experience we have ever had. For two weeks we got to enjoy the most comfortable, scenic, well designed property ever. It was so tempting to sit on the back porch and watch the hummingbirds, or on the front porch watching the sky at night that we had a hard time leaving. However we did, to visit some of the many local wineries, state parks, and restaurants that are close by. Judy and David have once again thought of everything a visitor could want or need. They even managed to arrange perfect weather! The house is perfect for couples or groups, with many spaces to allow for both time together and individual time. We can't wait for our next visit. We haven't lived in this town for more than 15 years but we used my 20th high school reunion as a reason to come back and have a sisters retreat. This house was the perfect place for us to hang out and relax. The location was great, not far from conveniences of town but also away from the noise and surrounded by beautiful peaceful nature. The space was clean and spacious. We will definitely be coming back!

We have been using VRBO for years and this is our favorite place! Clean,comfortable,relaxing.. the beds are great and the cottage we stayed in was wonderful! Very welcoming and they provided great shampoo and soaps, lotion and conditioner.. plenty of towels and paper products.. there was coffee and milk.. juice and a bottle of wine and a great cheese! They are so thoughtful and we can't wait to go back!

There are a few other rentals on the same property but they are far enough away to feel fairly secluded. The owners provided a number of extras to make you feel at home. (wine, cheese, crackers, OJ, butter, etc ...) The kitchen was stocked with more things than most places in case you decide to cook. There's a small deli/grocery store close by as well. We enjoyed visiting both St. Francis and Ledson wineries just a mile up the road. There is Trinity Road close by which is a shortcut over the mountain Napa Valley, but it's not for the faint of heart -- we decided to take the long way around on the way back. Highly recommended place!

what a great place, David and Judy are great hosts and are only there if you need anything- there is a fun play room called the shack with a pool table and ping pong table, fun for the kids and lots of place to roam on the ranch. We have stayed there twice and will be back!

Our second stay at Valhalla was just as special as the first time. The house is immaculate and sits in such a terrific setting. Quiet and peace throughout. The house is stocked with essentials and treats. The property owner is a delight. We will be back. Thanks for a terrific stay!

My wife and I were in Sonoma for a wedding and stayed at the Ranch with another couple. It is a quiet, well kept, nicely furnished and comfortable older home with great views out of the front room. While it can be challenging to find the driveway from the highway, once there it's a very peaceful and enjoyable experience. We highly recommend it.

We ( a women's book group) stayed 3 nights over the weekend and were very satisfied with the experience. Charming setting, views, comfortable, well stocked home that was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the main house, the shack and even the porch.

We have stayed at the Sally Stanford Ranch several times, & are extremely pleased with the property, accommodation, & service. Our most recent stay was in the Valhalla Cottage, & it did not disappoint. Comfortable beds, great showers, & a fully equipped kitchen supplied with milk, water, cheese, wine & condiments to get you started.An added bonus is The Shack which has a ping pong table, pool table & seating for several people. Don't miss out on this special place.

This house is roomy, quiet and private. It is set far back from the road, so there is no traffic noise. The owners include many thoughtful touches like fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, and cheese and crackers. We also found milk, bottled water and orange juice in the refrigerator. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is a full set of dishes and silverware, so a large group would be very comfortable here. The linens are good quality, and the mattresses are comfortable. There is a large porch to relax in at the rear of the house. It is well located for hiking at Sugarloaf Ridge and Annadel State Parks.

We celebrated my girlfriend's 60th birthday in style. It was a great venue for a large gathering. All the cottages were well-appointed and very comfortable. A weekend to remember!

This was a beautiful home located in Valley of the Moon (wine country) in a quiet country setting. A very comfortable home with mountain views from the expansive living room windows. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are incedibly comfortable. We stayed in this lovely home for 12 days. It's in a great location close to many wineries, great restaurants and bike & hiking trails. The hosts of the property are so helpful and have an eye for detail. The house is stocked with everything a guest might need. This is one of our favorite vacation spots and will definitely be returning to further explore the property & the Valley. Thank you Judy & David for your gracious hospitality while guests at Valhalla.

We had 24 friends for my sister's Surprise birthday party at Valhalla in December. We all spent a 3 day weekend together in Kenwood, near beautiful vineyards, mountains & wineries. The property was like having friends at your own home.....beautifully remodeled, high end touches of fine linens, dishware & supplies. The Shack held 24 for a catered dinner that Saturday nite with a piano player and dancing after dinner. I am sure my sister will never forget her 60th birthday !!!

As said in previous reviews, the pictures do not do justice to the property. Set off of Highway 12, the Valhalla House is quiet and beautiful. The property is very well kept and the amenities offered are top quality. Judy and David are gracious hosts; everything was at our fingertips. The space was large and the rooms were well decorated. The property is large and worth exploring. We are eager to visit again in the summer. Thanks so much for a memorable winter stay!

We had the best time at the Sally Stanford Ranch (Valhalla). We didn't want to leave!!! The ranch is absolutely beautiful - the land is breathtaking! We had our 2 young boys with us (age 2 and 1). They loved the ranch as much as we did. They had plenty of room to run on the ranch, and the house was very kid-friendly. This is by far our favorite VRBO rental. It had everything we needed. They even had a bottle of wine, cheese and goodies at the house when we got there. The house was very clean, nice and spacious. We were amazed by the amount of space. We had family visit us while we were there and everyone loved it. Even family members living in Sonoma said they might rent this place for a vacation because it was so beautiful and relaxing. It was hard to say goodbye - we will come back for a longer visit next time!!! Thank you Judy and David!
