What a great location to stay! The proximity to the ocean, golf, the pool, and things to do was fantastic. The place needs some TLC to be certain, but the beauty of the surroundings balanced that out. The accommodations were "sparse." We had to ask for more than one roll of toilet paper, garbage bags, soap, etc. Sheets don't fit the bed and holes in the pillow cases. You spend a lot of time, money, and effort to get there, looking forward to this memorable trip, so you want them to match some effort while you stay there. Our requests were accommodated, but why do I have to ask for salt and pepper or toilet paper?

This was my first time staying at a VRBO. I did communicate with the owner a couple times before arriving. He doesn't provide coffee or shampoo/conditioner/body wash at this property. He did have decent directions to get to the unit both if arriving before/after 6 PM but the names of the roads aren't given. He did give a pin drop which was very helpful to get an exact GPS location. We arrived after dark so it was a little confusing once you get on the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Hotel property especially since some of the roads were blocked/closed because of construction. You don't have access to all of the gates on this property. At first it was frustrating, but then you get the lay of the land. The security guard for the gate by Cluster 2 wasn't there when we arrived, after waiting about 10 mins someone leaving triggered the gate & we were able to get through but weren't able to get the parking pass then. When we got to the unit, the instructions that were sent described where a key would be. There was no key. I called the owner, he did answer & he gave the code for the keyless entry. After arriving we noticed that there were only 2 bath towels & 4 beach towels provided. We were a family of 4 staying 5 nights & planned to go to the pool & beach several times. There were no wash clothes or hand towels either. We also noticed there was less than a 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper & we couldn’t find any more. I messaged the owner the 1st night about both of these issues. The next day he messaged back that he’ll try to get us more towels & will leave them outside in the doorway. This never happened. He never responded back about the TP. We had to go to the bathroom at the pool & take TP from there every night because we quickly ran out. The water in the shower never got very warm & definitely not hot. For our family, the loft worked out pretty well for my 17 year old twin boys. You cannot stand up in the loft. There is a fan up there to help keep it cool. There is a styrofoam cooler in the unit. The next day when we stopped at the Cluster 2 security gate to get our parking pass, they let us know that you can get a free bag of ice every day you are there. It was extremely convenient to have the pool across the street from the unit. They were doing some repairs in the pool area when we were there but you could still use the pool. The windows aren't completely sealed even when locked. When it rains heavily, water comes in. We had water standing on tile floor.

Over all pretty good place. Great location; so close to the pool. The villa looked nice. The best part was the view for the golf course and the amazing breeze you get when opening the windows. The kitchen was nice and had all the equipment. Only had a few small issues: we did not have water the first night but it wasn’t the host fault it’s was a reparation, there were no trash bags and the second bed “space” was smaller than what we thought (for kids it’s great but for adults you have to crawl basically to get to the bed) Over all is a nice place and the host is very diligent and helpful.

Rio Mar Cluster 2
Rio Mar Cluster 2
