We had a wonderful stay in St. Martin thanks to our gracious hosts Christian and Chantal! They were always available to answer questions and make recommendations.
They even went out of their way to sort out a canceled boat tour we were dealing with. The room was very comfortable and well-stocked and had a lovely view of the beach and pools. The resort itself was quiet yet within walking distance of the more lively atmosphere of Orient Beach with its' many restaurants and beach bars. It is a lovely destination and we hope to return in the future.

Wow. What an awesome view. What a great location! Kitchen is fully functional for cooking. The pool is great. And most of all our hosts were the best. Available for any questions or concerns we had. Definitely will be back next year.

The property looks exactly like the pictures and the views are amazing. The unit is clean and modern and the property was right on the beach and very safe. The hosts are very nice and respond very quickly. Would definitely stay again.

The property is lovely, and as advertised, our unit had a fantastic ocean view. The beauty was surpassed only by Christian and Chantal's hospitality and friendliness. Christian was readily available through WhatsApp, and when I texted him about a minor problem (the microwave stopped working), he responded immediately. I cannot recommend Christian and Chantal and their lovely property highly enough!

The condo was just as seen in photos. Views were unbelievable. The hosts, Christian and Chantal, were great. Christian really went out of his way to help us. The complex is hilly, so not the best for anyone with mobility issues, but it certainly is beautiful.

Although many things were discussed with us upon arrival, including where the electric panel was located, nothing was mentioned about possible electric outages, which occurred once, nor water stoppages, which occurred on weekdays. Wondering why jugs of water were stored under the bathroom sink soon became the only way to flush the toilet when no water was running.
I certainly cannot blame the owners for the outages, but a little head’s up would have helped.
The view was spectacular, but the entire complex had an abandoned feeling, and the construction on the pool was ongoing on weekdays.

The apartment is just as described. It was very tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and everything worked. Nothing to complain about. The hosts, Chantal et Christian, were very nice and extremely attentive. They were available immediately via WhatsApp if one had questions. They had suggestions for places to eat.
We would add the rental is probably one of the nearest to the surf in the Mont Vernon resort. When on the porch one does not see any other buildings, like sitting on a deck of a cruise ship cabin. The apartment’s east wall facing the ocean is all glass and can be moved aside across the entirety of the room and deck, which opens the whole apartment to the sea. The porch offers complete privacy, being on the top level with no other rentals within view.
What we liked best about the complex is there are no streets so there is no automobile traffic, no loud radios at night and no motorcycles. It is very quiet at night except for the sounds of waves and an occasional dog barking. The restaurants are located at the other (south) end of the beach so one also does not hear loud diners leaving meals late at night.
Lots of good places to eat within a short drive or longer walk but a great pizza place is on site. Since the restaurants nearby are so good one does not have to cook, but if one is a serious cook and plans on cooking a lot you may want to bring your own skillet if you are not a fan of non-stick cookware. Kitchen was well stocked with spices. We stayed for three weeks and usually travel with our favorite stainless-steel skillet.
Security is excellent with the paths around the complex patrolled in the evenings and with a guard at the main building. The apartment has a safe which we did not think we needed. Since the complex is far from any public roads it is difficult for thieves to access. Parking was under cover with only gated access so your car is also safe and close to the on-site security person. This is a quiet place by the sea, if you want a place near beach parties and energetic young people with loud motorbikes maybe try another part of the island.
We enjoyed the “Frenchness” of St. Martin - the language, the food and especially the French bakery which is only 1.8 km away next to a large supermarket.

Famtastic location, good hosts!
We loved, loved the balcony, we lived there when we were not on the beach. The hosts Christian and Chantal couldnt have been more helpful, from the beach chairs, to bringing a second umbrella to also helping out with the laundry service. This is a lovely spot hearing the waves all day and all night was just what we needed the grounds are beautiful. Watching the donkeys come and go was amazing. Great nature walks and right on the beach. These places are being refurbished but even though theres work to be done the noise is not heard above the waves and the gentle breeze. Initially when we saw the covered parking garage we were a bit daunted however you soon realize that parking in a shaded area makes it worthwhile. The unit is dated and my only comment would be that it would be nice to have newer towels and more of them. Perhaps also soap for the shower and hand soap. Thank you again Christian and Chantal you are good hosts and we would visit again.

Nice location, awesome view, fantastic property managers
Christian and Chantal have a great condo at Mount Vernon on Orient Bay, Like other reviews state is still in the process of recovering from hurricane Irma. As of March 2022, there is still active construction happening daily, the pool is still not usable. We were provided a parking spot in a covered/gates lot. Check-in was easy and the property was shown to us and all amenities addressed by Christian. During our stay in the condo we used the stove, oven, espresso maker, drip coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer; all these appliances are good working order. Fully equipped with silverware, plates, glasses etc. we did not use the toaster.The bathroom with double vanity sink is nice, shower has two heads with good water pressure. The bed was comfortable and no of sinking in the middle which can happen with king beds. The bureau space fit our two suitcases plus there is a luggage rack, a small Key-locked safe provided for this trip. There was a hairdryer and an iron with ironing board. While many beaches have places to rent seats, the condo came equipped with two travel chairs and an umbrella to take with us to the beaches that don’t have chairs. The owners also provided advice on which beaches to go to and their recommendations were spot on. The air conditioner keeps the condo nice and cool. Flat screen TV comes equipped with cable, Netflix, and Amazon prime. Glass door to balcony slides fully open as an extension of living room, with a perfect view, The sounds of the waves are incredible and it sounds like you’re sitting on the beach. I felt very well supported by the owners for any questions or concerns. Overall we had a great time, while the common area has seen better days before the hurricane, the condo, the owners, and the great location made this an excellent stay!

This place is a great value for the location and view and so convenient to Orient Beach. I would highly recommend!.

The pictures dont lie!
Lets start with Christian and Chantal. They were amazingly helpful for months in helping us navigate the Covid situation and Booking. They were quick to respond to any concerns. Now for the view, the pictures are nothing compared to the view from your own eyes. As I sit back in cold Ohio, I will dream of that view until we get back someday. We did experience some construction issues like others but I'm confident it was just bad timing for us as they were putting a new roof on the week we were there. We realized this was out of their control and didn't affect our stay. The area/island has a ways to go in recovery but this should not stop you from visiting. We thought the Mont Vernon area was a perfect middle ground between the restaurants in Grand Case, the access to Pinel and the beaches in Orient. Very quiet neighborhood for those who enjoy that. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful property hosts, location and views
We enjoyed a great stay at Chantal and Christian's place. The room was very well stocked and the view from the room was amazing. Chantal and Christian were extremely accommodating and even went out of their way to print out a hard copy reservation required for us for a day outing we booked. While the room was very nice, as others have noted the french side of the island still has a lot of hurricane damage as does the resort property which did result in some construction noise. Regardless of this issue we would definitely stay at this lovely property again.

Beautiful property
Our hosts Chantal and Christian were amazing. We couldn’t ask for a better first rental experience. They were very attentive if we needed something or had a question they responded to our request within few hours. They both took extra time to give us recommendations for places to see, Christian even drove with us to show my husband a place to fish. They both went above and beyond.
The condo was beautiful and clean. It looked exactly like on the pictures. We enjoyed that it was quiet and the view was stunning. They were few restaurants pretty close but I would definitely recommend having a vehicle for staying at this location. I can’t forget to mention that food was amazing in every restaurant we went to.
Overall we loved our stay at St. Martin and we will definitely come back.

Staying on Orient Bay at Mont Vernon
The unit was clean, efficient, and right above the beach. We were very pleased. A future visit is indeed a high probability. A lovely view during the day and at night, as the moon rose over the water.

Great views to a wonderful beach
The condo is perfectly located on a hill overlooking beautiful Orient Bay. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace overlooking the turquoise waters of the bay were our favorites. The condo is exactly as advertised and welll equipped with kitchen utensils that helped solved many meals. The close proximity to Orient Bay village (10 minute walk on the beach) made it convenient for beach services, restaurants and convenience store. The whole area is undergoing repairs after hurricane Irma, the pools is not functional yet, and aspects of the building hints the devastation the island suffered. Yet, Chantal keeps this little condo as a beautiful place overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

Excellent, loved every minute
My husband and I are just back from spending an amazing week in St Martin. First off, it is an amazing island with such nice friendly people and fantastic food. If you are wondering where to stay, stay on the French side and in Chantals apt in Mont Vernon. I will be honest in saying I was a little scared due to other posts in regard to the hurricane damage and a previous post about this property. Chantal, who is an amazing and responsive host completely put my mind at ease. Her apt is 100% exactly as it looks in the photos. The apt has everything you need, full kitchen, cooler and umbrella for the beach. The view is to die for, I am still dreaming about it. The sound of the ocean from the apt is just fantastic.
The property is a little rundown and there a couple of the buildings that need complete renovations due to hurricane damage. It is sad to see but the complex was busy with people the week we were there so it gives me great hope. The area, view and closeness to the beach makes up for it all. There was one area of the road in that was very bumpy, they started working on it two days before we left. While there was a lot of hurricane damage to the area, there is also so much work being done. The apt is very close to Orient Village, about a 10 min walk on the beautiful beach or a 5 min drive. There are great restaurants there. We love using a pool to take a break from the heat, there is access to the pool at a hotel resort in Orient Village called The Plantation. You just need to buy a drink ( nobody took any notice of us, so we didn't even really need to buy one). So having no pool on the property did not bother us. I would advise people to rent a car to explore the beauty of the island and all its amazing beaches. The furthest you will drive is 35 mins, everything is so close. We cannot wait to book our next trip and will not hesitate to book Chantals apt.

Fantastic!
Chantal is a fantastic and responsive host and her place is super cute! Orient bay is an awesome area, not crowded at all, and the beaches that have rebuilt since the hurricane are awesome. The view from the place is gorgeous!

Just returned from our stay on orient bay beach. We must admit that the inside of the actual unit was exactly as described. Beautiful views directly overlooking the water and steps away to the beach. A nice deck where we could enjoy morning coffee and watch the sunrise rise. The apartment was fully loaded with everything you would need with the only exception being enough towels. We had 1 large towel for each of us plus a smaller hand towel for the whole week. We had also hoped for beach chairs as listed but were disappointed to find the chairs that were left were "camp" style and not suited for sunbathing. Chantal was very prompt with her communication both before our arrival and during our stay especially since she was not physically present on the island during our stay. We had been nervous about this as she had a family emergency but once on the island everything went smoothly. She even helped us hire and contact a private driver to meet our transportation needs. The one thing we do want to mention is the state of the property. They have been badly hit by the hurricane and have not done much to return the property to how it looked before. The unit below us was being remolded and we looked out every day to a large dumpster and loud noises on the ground floor below us starting early in the morning with the construction going ion. Our actual building was in better shape then most. Then outdoor lightning for the development is all but gone. The stairs leading down to the beach are without rails and the buildings all around us were uninhabitable. The pool and its surrounding buildings are left decaying The roads leading up to the property are quite bad and out driver showed amazing skills getting us there. We had visited the island and this beach prior to the hurricane and were devastated to see the destruction that it had left behind. The majority of the boutiques and restaurants on the beach are totally gone. Orient Bay beach club and its builds are left standing in decay. There is ongoing water issues on the island and we were with water for 2 days.. I want to mention that this is not the owners fault and she did contact us once we were there telling us about the water shutoff for the day. If you are expecting this area to be as it was prior to the hurricane you will be disappointed and should stay elsewhere on the island. Amy

Beautiful beach view in peaceful setting
We stayed in both the lower suite and the third floor suite. Each had their own charm as the amenities were similar and well thought out by the owners. Chantal and Christian greeted us upon arrival and made certain we understood how everything worked. The main floor suite was nice as you could wander out to the property and take in the beach and look back to Pinel and Tintemare Islands. The assigned parking for this suite was tricky getting in and out so we ended up using the lower general parking area, which allowed less climbing to the suite.
The third floor suite was our favourite as the view was spectacular and the furnishings were a slight upgrade. The parking for this suite was in the covered parking area and we used this spot as it was closer to the suite and only involved the one set of property stairs.
Both suites had reliable, fast internet, which gave us no problems and allowed us to use our Slingbox back home. Otherwise TV was restricted to ABC and NBC plus CNN and a few French stations which came and went.
Despite damage to Mont Vernon, there is a busy feel to the place, with many young people using the location along with North American tourists. The road in has been repaired so there were no difficulty getting out to the main road and food shopping at Mont Hope Market was all wee needed for most of our supplies. We ate in most nights, using the ample kitchen amenities, and were happy that the suite had a convection oven, plus microwave and toaster.
Overall, we had a super vacation and really enjoyed our stay in these units. Thanks to Chantal and Christian for committing to provide a great oasis to those staying here.

Still wonderful after Irma
This is our 3rd stay at Chantal & Christian's unit in Mt Vernon. Hurricane Irma did significant damage to the island but their studio apartment remains well maintained and filled with all that's required for a marvelous stay. The view of Orient Bay is absolutely stunning from the apartment and the lanai. Chantal is very responsive to any needs or questions. Several new restaurants have sprung up in nearby Orient Village offering many excellent choices. Grand Case still has several fine dining choices as well. Overall St Martin remains a beautiful, sunny island that is still wonderful even after Irma.

A Million Dollar VIEW!!
Sadly the Mont Vernon area was very affected by the hurricane and so walking to the villa i was a bit nervous about what i had gotten myself into. Thankfully when Christian opened the doors to the unit i was so pleasantly surprised! Then when he opened the electric screen to the deck view... I forgot about any cosmetic reconstruction the building needed.
The view is a MILLION DOLLAR VIEW!
The location was perfect for us. We rented a car and went on our way to explore. Although the pool is not in working condition because of the hurricane, this place sits right on the beach and about a 20 min walk (on the beach) to the action part of Orient Beach.
This place was great and very quaint. We had wine and cheese on the deck every night and woke up early to each the sunset. It was decorated so nice and added touches from the owner like candy for my 2 yr old son & l to enjoy every night. 🍬
We loved it. And the price was right for the stay.

Wonderful unit!
Christian and Chantal have a beautiful unit with spectacular views. The Mont Vernon complex needs serious rebuilding after Irma, the pool and grounds were completely destroyed, but if you walk a mile or so down to the south part of the bay, the beach is still beautiful and there are a few vendors there with chair rentals. Orient Village is open and the pizza place is open at Mont Vernon. I would strongly encourage you to go to the french side of the island, the people need our money spent in their economy after losing so much to the storm!

Best trip to the Island
Having visited the Island many times and spent the day occasionally on the French side. I decided to stay at Mount Vernon.
My second stay at their studio
1st time was the level of communication made me feel comfortable regarding facility and accommodations.
Chantal and Christan are wonder hosts -landlords for my trips.
Close to all the action either walking - taxi or car.
Alternatively, the right spot and view to lose yourself and or rediscover what you are choice maybe.
The studio has what you need to get your vacation in paradise started. Cook or go out close to restaurants and food markets and now Yoga on the beach. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is shopping for an adventure or get away.
