La Reinita se traduce como 'la Reina'. Y una reina que es. Construido en una colina con vista al Pacífico, fue una de las primeras casas construidas en La Jolla por el médico del primer pueblo. Pero, por favor, no te hagas una idea de que es viejo, por el contrario, es muy nuevo por dentro con una cocina moderna y muebles modernos y cómodos. Es donde se unen lo histórico y lo zen.
Entras a la propiedad de la cabaña a través de una puerta de hierro forjado más allá de un pequeño edificio de oficinas. Un patio delantero con sillas Adirondack y una bañera de hidromasaje genial en el patio privado.
Al entrar te encuentras con pisos de madera, vistas panorámicas al mar y una sala de estar maravillosa. Hay un sofá cama en la sala de estar y una silla cómoda que se dirigen hacia un gran televisor montado y un calentador de chimenea eléctrica. Dos sillas están preparadas para ver y leer el océano.
A la derecha al ingresar está la cocina y el comedor con capacidad para cuatro. Ventanas dan sobre el césped con hermosos jardines. El motivo es en blanco y negro con todos los electrodomésticos modernos y una cocina totalmente equipada.
En el otro lado de la sala de estar a la derecha hay un dormitorio principal. Muy acogedor con una cama queen y baño completo.
A la izquierda de la sala de estar hay una terraza exterior con amplios asientos, sombrilla, fogón y bañera de hidromasaje. todo en un lugar con vista al mar.
Por la puerta que conduce a la cubierta es una escalera de caracol que conduce a un segundo dormitorio principal con una cama de matrimonio y 3/4 baño. Una lavadora y una secadora están a la vuelta de la esquina.
Los colores son de color blanco amarillento y azul por lo que es muy rural como pero con una fuerte sensación Zen de la paz y la comodidad y tranquilidad.

Cute cottage hidden in the Village.
PROS - location-View-Yard-Patio-has heat & air-Mirabel was very responsive & helpful l.
CONS - older & dated-Windows, doors & shades don’t function properly- No dishwasher - no vent/fan in kitchen, fire alarm kept going off while cooking-No closet in upstairs bedroom (steep stairs to attic type of storage/closet-Steep/Small spiral staircase going to downstairs bedroom (daughter had a knee injury & was difficult to maneuver).

This cottage is walking distance to everything in the Village of La Jolla: grocery, restaurants, waterfront. We were there a week. It's rustic but it grew on us due to it's amazing access to all that La Jolla has to offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in La Jolla. The cottage is cute, quaint, peaceful and delightfully rustic. Loved the entrance covered in ivy. It seemed like our own little secret cottage. Loved it all! If I wanted to give any small area which could be improved upon, it may be the comfort of the living room furniture, but I dont expect ultra expensive comfy stuff. We coped and the trip was wonderful...thanks so much!

We stayed at this property for two weeks with our family of four (2 adults, one 4 year old and one toddler under 2). It was absolutely perfect and blissful. The views from the balcony and within the property are amazing and you can even hear the waves from the balcony. There little garden area was perfect for our littles ones. When you step into the garden from the street, it is instantly tranquil and quiet. This place was truly an oasis!
It was about a 5 minute walk to Shell beach and within walking distance (2-10 minutes) of several restaurants. It is also within walking distance of several other La Jolla beaches besides Shell beach. The location could not have been more perfect for us.
The property itself is well maintained and very quaint and charming. We thought it was absolutely lovely. The kitchen was stocked well enough to prepare some simple meals and there was ample space throughout for our family of four. The beds were comfortable and we felt very much at home during our stay.
When we had questions for the property managers/owners, they were very responsive and kind.
We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely love to stay here again if we visit La Jolla again in the future!

The home was filthy on arrival. The spa tenants in front allow their dogs to defecate and urinate right where you step into the jacuzzi and their dogs are allowed to roam your yard. They will bark at you as an intruder. Property manager was called and unresponsive to all issues. Owner is obviously relying on five star location so doesn’t think they have to do anything further to maintain this historically recognized property, which looks and feels like a 100 year old property. Outdoor weeds were growing through the windows inside the home. Garden was not maintained. The kitchen was not properly stocked - mismatched dishes and hardly any were intact. Stair railing was sticky and bed sheets stained from previous guest and lack of cleaning. Sand everywhere. We asked for cleaning fee reimbursement and Owner was unresponsive. Will now have to file formal complaint with VRBO and credit card. Home is nowhere near a VRBO standard. We own two VRBO homes and would never let our properties fall this far from grace. Renter beware.

We enjoyed our stay in this historic old cottage. It was well placed for the centre & for the beach
As it was old, it did feel like it needed a bit of a brighten up with windows & doors looking a bit shabby.
The photos are a bit misleading as the furniture is darker wood in reality .
It was lovely to sit in the sunny window & on the decking in the evening & the hot tub was nice too.
Although we enjoyed our stay I wouldn’t return as it was quite expensive for the facilities & felt like we were in someone’s garden as it was behind businesses with no divide.
I am sure a lot of people will love the quaintness & history but I think we could do better for the price. No real complaints but not quite what we expected

The property is shabby chic, but in a good way, with an updated kitchen and baths with strong showers and plenty of hot water. It is a short walk to the Childrens Beach as well as many others. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance too, so we did not need to move our car, which was parked for free in a nearby covered lot (covered by rental). The managers were responsive and helpful when needed.

Myself, my daughter and our 2 small dogs loved this house! It was very relaxing, had a good vibe and great view. We were lucky to get parking right in front every time. And we would definitely book here again. Thank you!

This is a cute house in a great location. There are many good restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The outside patio with the fireplace and hot tub was great to have. Unfortunately, the home was not clean in some areas such as the windows (the view could have been so much better if the windows were clean) and the downstairs bedroom floor (extremely dirty). The outdoor lights were not working and the outdoor furniture cushions really need replacing. For the price the house could use a deep clean and repairs as needed.

We stayed here with my parents and our toddler for a wedding nearby. The property was perfect for our visit- needing to be in town and walkable. It was exceptionally great for our toddler and having the private yard for her to play in and a great playground at the community center which was very close! We enjoyed sitting on the patio, hot tub and being able to easily walk down to Childrens Pool to see the seals an incredible views. The hosts were great in being communicative in ensuring we'd have a pack and play and high chair. Also very nice to have a dedicated parking spot. Highly recommend!

This place was so nice and the area is very quiet. If you walk out the front door up the hill, through 2 hidden gates, it opens up to all the local stores and restaurants. Never once heard any traffic.

This property is STUNNING! The views from each room, as well as the patio are just beyond. The location is INCREDIBLE! We were able to walk to amazing restaurants and bars, our entire stay. We even took a short drive to Del Mar! We can’t say enough about this property! Hope to be back!

We have just completed our third stay here and booked our next years stay before we left
It continues to be a perfect spot for a visit to La Jolla and the Temecula wine area (quick hour drive away)
The checkin process is easy; any questions are quickly answered via email or Vrbo messaging. The property manager (Mirabelle) is always available if there are questions or problems.
Fully equipped house and you could cook if you wanted to but with so many restaurants around we never do. We especially recommend La Dolce Vita in downtown La Jolla. Get the truffle risotto
Really enjoy hanging on the patio with the fire and looking at the ocean. Great walks along the ocean either direction.
As long as we can make it up and down the spiral stairs to the lower bedroom we will be coming every year.

Beach Cottage
Great location for charming cottage one block from the beach. We loved the cottage with all of the amenities and patio with the ocean view and fire pit. Enjoyed being able to walk to great restaurants in the area. The cottage helped make our family vacation very special. Thank you!

The downstairs bedroom/ bathroom smelled strongly of urine. The outside furniture had lots of bird droppings on it and the inside rugs and furniture were in need of a shampoo. There were actual plant vines growing through the ceiling of the kitchen. I didn't even open the hot tub because my confidence of its cleanliness was so low.
My family has stayed in many vacation rentals and so I know you have to put up with some things not being pristine, but I was a little grossed out. The great location made it (almost) a wash.

We stayed in this quaint cottage for a three week visit. It's in an excellent location nestled in the midst of the village, amazingly convenient to restaurants, stores and coastal walk. We never tired of the ocean and sunset views from the picture window and the patio. The cottage isn't overly large but had everything we needed for 3 people and the jacuzzi is a real bonus.

We checked in a little later than planned, dropped our adult kids off at the gate and then I grabbed the keys and went with my husband to park. When we got back the kids had already checked the place over and wondered which room they would have. They went into the attic attached to the master bedroom, thinking that's where they would sleep. The attic was a little creepy to see first night in the dark and we had a good laugh about it.
Loved the hot tub and the firetable. We didn't have a warm visit but made use of it anyway. The two chairs with the view were great for coffee in the morning.
I felt safe here. We didn't want to lock the business out so we left the gates unlocked but closed. Most often we would find the gates were open as we left or returned. But still we felt safe.
The kitchen was fine, but a little lacking in staples. We bought our own coffee and since there was no pepper on hand, we used packets from take-out. But there were coffee filters, so that was great!
This is so close to shopping and the beach. It was a perfect location!
We would highly recommend this house.
