We had a wonderful stay the Superior Horizons Carriage House. John was a fantastic host. He met us upon arrival and walked through the place with us. He was great at providing recommendations and tips that only the locals know. It was so nice to have a garage to park our car in. The property is beautiful! We really appreciated John's hospitality and highly recommend staying here!

Everything about our stay was great, from the cleanliness of the cabin to the friendliness of the host. It was a perfect place to spend time with old friends and relax. We felt like we were in the middle of the forest instead of at the end of a long driveway.
Being just a few minutes drive from Bayfield made it quite convenient.
The furniture and mattresses were comfortable. There was a good selection of DVDs to choose from for movies in the evening.
The only suggestion I have would be to put some towel racks or hooks in the downstairs bathroom to dry bath towels after showering.

Carriage house sits back from the road on a beautifully landscaped wooded property . The owner lives next door and greets you and shows you the house upon arrival. John is available for any questions. The clothes washer broke during our stay and John washed our clothes at his house without us even asking.
The cottage is beautifully decorated in a north woods theme and was very clean. The garage, one bedroom, and half bath are on the first floor with the second bedroom, a 3/4 bath, living area and kitchen on the 2nd floor. This rental wound not be suitable for those with mobility issues as the stairs to the 2nd floor are rather steep. Also there is no dining table, just some stools next to the kitchen counter.
It takes only a few minutes to drive to downtown Bayfield. Enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay at this property. The location was ideal - just 1.5 miles north of Bayfield. The property is set back from the highway, so it was quiet and peaceful. Everything was provided as listed. The host, John was quick to respond to any questions.

Peaceful stay in a beautiful wooded setting. Host lives on the property also. Carriage House is detached from the owners’ house. Carriage House has 1 bedroom and 1/2 bath downstairs, with the kitchen, living area, 3/4 bath (shower only), and the primary bedroom upstairs. It was really nice to be able to park our vehicle and bicycles in the garage. Host is very welcoming, yet respectful of privacy. Knowledgeable about the area. Gave us good suggestions for biking in the area.

We used the carriage house as our base to tour around the Bayfield area. The upstairs bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of room in the living room for both of us. We had use of the garage during the stay which was very nice. The kitchen was well furnished and we had everything we needed. It was a quick drive to town for our evening meals and ride the ferry and Apostle Island tours. We were very pleased with this stay.

This property was just great! The location is so close to town but has a secluded feel to it. The entire cabin itself was well equipped and having a tall garage that fit our truck with the kayaks still on top was super convenient. John was very friendly and very responsive. I would definitely recommend this property!

My wife and I along with our two adult nieces vacationed in Wisconsin and thoroughly enjoulyed our stay in Bayfield at this property. John was a great host and a very good source of information as to how we could maximize our time in Bayfield and the surrounding area. His property is conveniently located, yet has great privacy. If you are vacationing in the Apostle Island area, his is the place to stay at!

We enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House. It had everything we needed for our stay and the location was great for us. We could easily get to places to hike, bike and kayak. There is a great trail around the property which we enjoyed. John is a wonderful host and provided great suggestions on places to bike and kayak.

John's property was perfect for my husband and I; we were on a road trip and spent 3 nights in Bayfield. We loved pulling into the garage and taking everything out of car and leaving it there. We loved the quiet from the hustle and bustle of Bayfield. Loved talking to John about our adventures and having him add more. And we loved the trail around his property, it was a nice "hike" for us. Everything as advertized and we will be back for the adventures that John suggested.

This Carriage House was very charming and very comfortable. The house had everything anyone would need while staying away from home. Our comfort was John's number one priority. Check-in was fast and easy, and John was easy to communicate with when needed. There was a nature trail that surrounded the property, which was absolutely beautiful to hike on! It was close to downtown Bayfield and The Apostle Islands & Madeline Island. We definitely would stay here again in the future!

Beautiful property
We had a great time in Bayfield. Kayaking, biking, hiking, the Big Top, golf and checking out the area. We didn’t get to spent much time at John’s beautiful property but it definitely had everything.
We had no issues but as the listing states, you must be able to do steps.

PERFECT STAY.
The carriage house is a perfect size for four adults. Very clean and well-appointed. Plenty of kitchen items and lots of towels in bathrooms. Just a quick drive to downtown Bayfield for ferry, shops, and restaurants. Highly recommend. John checks you in and gives you the lay of the land.
