Nuestra cabaña familiar se encuentra en lo alto del sudeste de BIG ISLAND y ofrece un panorama de las vistas del lago y la isla, aguas profundas y claras, amaneceres celestiales. La propiedad de 5 acres está situada en la convergencia de Clear Lake y el bajo Stony Lake. La cabaña, cabañas y literas de alrededor de 1940 han sido bien mantenidas y actualizadas para proporcionar una vida en la isla cómoda pero simple.
Casa principal: gran salón con chimenea, puertas abiertas a las cubiertas norte y sur; amplia cocina abierta con electrodomésticos nuevos, mesa de comedor (asientos 10 + mostrador) y área de descanso informal; gran dormitorio principal con cama King (o 2 gemelos) + puerta a la cubierta sur; oficina (escritorio e internet) y 1 cama individual + puerta a cubierta sur. Nuevo baño completo (ducha) en la cabaña principal.
Cabina sur: cama King (o 2 gemelas) con baño completo (bañera con patas con ducha), área de tocador / armario separada y terraza orientada al sur hacia Clear Lake.
Cabina norte: cama Queen + literas (2), baño completo (ducha), terraza frente al lago Stoney (los amantes del amanecer se quedan aquí).
El estudio: una cabaña para dormir encantadora pero rústica, sin baño. No hay agua corriente. Junto al taller. Mejor usado en los meses de verano.

- Gran embarcadero flotante en aguas profundas y claras
-Boat House (a veces disponible)
-Boat House Dock (separado del muelle de natación) 8 tacos para amarrar el barco

Stone's Throw is the perfect mix of old cottage and modern comfort. The location is beautiful and we especially liked the living room with windows and lake views from 3 sides of the room (when the weather didn't allow us to hang out on the deck). The cottage was well equipped, especially the kitchen. My daughter in law was delighted to find and use the yoga mat, my husband the to go coffee mugs for early fishing, and I liked the nice cook wear. We enjoyed the "together" spaces and appreciated the separate sleeping and bathroom spaces. Every room was very attractive and comfortable. It is a bit of a hike from the dock to the cottage so it took a bit of work to unload our food and gear. There is a cart to help though. We hope to return soon!

Our expectations for our 8-day stay at Janis and John's family cottage were high and, without a doubt, they were exceeded in every way. This experience was everything we wanted it to be and more: a beautiful, scenic, quiet, and private setting, deep water for swimming, an extremely well-equipped kitchen, a fantastic book and puzzle selection, and most impressively, a beautiful collection of antiques and paintings displayed throughout the main cottage and cabins--many of the paintings done by Janis herself. Janis and I communicated extensively throughout the booking process and in the time leading up to our stay. She was always quick to respond and extremely pleasant when answering my many questions. The staff at Kawartha Park Marina were also very friendly and welcoming. My family would not hesitate to stay at StonesThrow again. In fact, we are hoping to do so again in the near future! We booked this cottage with high expectations and it did not disappoint. It was everything we hoped for and mom. The owners and fantastic to deal with. Very helpful and responsive leading up to our stay. Always prompt to answer our questions and provide some helpful tips for island cottaging. We were four small families, three of whom had children and the space was perfect. We loved having our separate areas in the cabins, but with lots of space in the main cottaging for coming together. There is ample seating both inside and out. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need. The dock is a great size for lounging and the swimming was excellent. There are 2 individuals floaties available which we used, but we also brought some of our own. It's cozy, clean, spacious. Very cottage feeling but with lots of modern touches. The only (minor) issue was the water pressure but they did advise us beforehand. It appears that only one water source can be going at one time (so if you are taking a shower and someone flushes, you will notice). With 8 adults and our little ones, it really didn't impact us much at all. We are hoping to return again next summer

We had a wonderful stay at Stone's Throw. It was very comfortable for two families with four children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years. We spent a lot of time kayaking, swimming, fishing and relaxing around the cottage, but also managed a couple of trips off the island (we took it in turns to bring each family to the marina on the small boat provided). Sandy Lake, Burleigh Falls and Buckhorn for lunch and a visit to the lock made for fun day trips. The cottage retains its traditional charm, but is fresh and modern. We would have stayed longer if we could have! Many thanks to the Chitticks.

Our family had a wonderful week at Stones Throw. The cottage was exactly what we wanted and exactly as it is pictured- beautifully maintained buildings on an exceptional property and a great location. It’s clear there is a lot of family history and pride of ownership for this property. Great swimming, easy docking for a boat, cottagey feel but with modern conveniences like dishwasher and washing machine, miles of boating but some lovely paddling nearby as well. Our kids loved the bunkie. Janis and John were excellent hosts - lots of information up front and available to answer questions. We’ll be back next year.

A 5 minute boat ride from the Kawartha Park Marina, this accessible but private cottage is by far our favourite. We have many rented many cottages over the years and we immediately rebooked this ideally located, very well maintained and charming property.
The owners are very concerned with making sure you enjoy your stay and the people we met at the marina and around the lake are friendly and welcoming.
The 3 bunkies are setup for an excellent night's sleep, privacy and some alone time if you wish to read. 2 of the 3 bunkies have washroom facilities and one a shower. The master bedroom is quiet and separate from the bustle of the cottage. There is also a single bed bedroom in the main cottage.
The kitchen has everything you will need and the BBQ is in great condition. The fireplace adds some terrific ambience on those cooler evenings and damp mornings.
There is a separate boat dock where you can moor and unload. The owners have installed a walk ramp up to the cottage that makes access easy. There are a few stairs from the level of this dock to the walk ramp but they were easily navigated by our elderly mothers. The swimming dock is accessed by stairs.
There are kayaks available for a morning and evening paddles amongst the small islands. This really is a charming and interesting area. Boating on the lake is great. Running up to Burleigh Falls or down to Young's Point is always fun. There a several restaurants accessible by boat.
This cottage has a great feel to it. You need to experience it to understand it. By far the most relaxing cottage vacation we have ever had.
We are looking forward to next year.

Our stay here couldn’t have been better. An amazing Stoney Lake Island retreat. Everything you could possibly want and need. The main cottage was extremely well appointed and had every amenity you could ask for. The outbuildings (bunkies) were both extremely comfortable and provided refuge for kids/adults from one another. Nice to ha e your own space and still be all together. Close to Kawartha Park Marina, fishing and calm water to tube and ski. The owners were fabulous and easy to deal with!!

Stone's Throw has struck a perfect balance between rustic Stony cottage life while having all of the modern upgrades that you would want. The kitchen has everything you would want to cook big family meals that you can eat on the front patio or in the attached dining room. The sleeping cabins and floating dock give you the privacy and outdoor time you come to the lake for.
The entire property is very well maintained and clean both inside and out. It stays true to the rustic aspects of cottage life with the sleeping bunkies/cabins that are clean, comfortable, and spacious, but are also no frills spaces. The porches on each cabin gives everyone their privacy, and individual views of the lake.
The owners have thought of everything, and the information binder gave us all the tips we needed to make sure we cared for the property and had a great time kayaking and enjoying their family home. Communication was easy, and they thought of things we hadn't even considered before our stay.
I can't wait to go back up to Stony!

Loved our cabin, cozy with beautiful view of the Lake from our private deck, along with comfortable chairs, perfect place to read. In the main cottage the kitchen had everything you needed to cook a meal. Living room was beautiful with modern fire place, hot so we didn't use but if we needed a fire it would be great. Loved the windows that open all the way across the front of the cottage with views of the lake. Also inside the main area were wind chimes - beautiful music on a windy day. Down on the lake a swim dock with chairs that we enjoyed many times. Not to mention the lake community were especially friendly.

This is a fantastic cottage on Stoney Lake. The place is very clean and has everything you need to have a great week/ weekend cottage experience.
Amazing panoramic views of the lake and has a nice big dock and deep waters which makes it great for swimming.
Would definitely recommend this cottage to others as we had an amazing experience here!
