This house looks pretty but is poorly designed and not as described. We booked the guest house which is cute and mostly comfortable, but it is described as a two bedroom with air conditioning. It is a one bedroom and a loft bedroom, and only the one bedroom has air conditioning, the main living spaces and loft bedroom do not have any air conditioning. You can open windows but it does take a good part of the evening / into the night to cool off, and you would not want to cook anything inside and increase the heat level. We have a higher heat tolerance than most people but it would be nice to have AC to cool off the living spaces especially since it is advertised as such.
The AC in the bedroom broke down while we were there and we were moved to the main house which we were at first happy about but soon realized the main house also only has AC in the bedrooms, not in the main spaces and the house is designed so that there are big sliding glass doors and no curtains or anything on the side of the house where the sun beats in all day long, with no windows on the other sides of the house, so no air flow whatsoever and no way to cool off the noise even in the evening, the air just does not come in at all. The bugs are very bad on that part of the island you can’t really be outside in the evening so you just sit inside in the heat and sweat until it’s time for bed.
The house is pretty and has a great view. The beach is secluded and nice. Property managers are great.

Do yourself a favor and book JODO immediately! This place is heaven on earth! The property is exactly as described and has everything you need and more to enjoy your stay! The views are world class, especially the sunsets!! You will not be disappointed with your decision to stay here!

I did quite a bit of research prior to booking on North. I did not expect nightlife or an all inclusive trip. Jodo is a bit remote and yes some bumpy dirt roads. The home was well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, plates cups, coffee maker etc. We ordered a food list to be delivered ahead of arrival which worked out very well. First floor a/c and numerous fans kept us cool. Kitchen,living areas were spacious and comfortable. A car rental with good suspension is needed as most things to do require a 15 to 20 minute drive including some rough roads. Beach and lounge chairs out front were nice. A short walk left gives you perfect sand and some snorkeling. Sunsets were a must but have some bug spray for exposed skin.
Relaxing and recharging is just a reservation away.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with the accommodations. The Jodo guest house had everything we expected and much more for our week of “down time.” The private beach and ocean views were phenomenal to say the least. We spent hours everyday on the beach under the cabana, walking the beach and snorkeling. We saw a rare jogger on the beach twice during our entire week. We were sure to eat dinner inside when the “no see ums” were out. Our sunset photos from the balcony were gorgeous. One very important quality of this resort was Regine, the manager. She was always available and assisted with all aspects of this trip; getting the ferry, taxis, rental car, groceries, etc…. We gave this Guest house/Villa a five star rating as it truly deserves it. We will be back!!!

Amazing property on North Caicos! Our group of 3 ladies felt safe even though the property is very secluded. We adventured out to see both North and Middle Caicos, but spent most of our time sitting at the beach at the rental. You can walk to a beach from one side of the property which gave us a view of Parrot Cay. The property manager was very responsive to the requests. Be sure to bring all the seasonings and ingredients you need to cook, the house had only salt and pepper.

Staying at Jodo was everything we wanted. It was quiet and had everything we needed to cook and chill. We will definitely be booking a family gathering in the future. Other guests wrote about the no-seems so we brought plenty of spray. Unfortunately I wasn't prepared for how tenacious they were even on windy days. We brought our own paddle boards and were able to enjoy the water and walking to 3 Mary's along with venturing out to Middle Caicos during the day. Highly recommend this property!

Very secluded. The people (if you see any) are very friendly and the food is great at the few restaurants on the island. My wife and I found the trip and the property very decompressing.

Outstanding location, service, privacy and bang for your buck. Every compliment about this slice of heaven is true and anyone reading this review would be foolish not to rent JODO and enjoy. So, what do I have to contribute? Another point of view as a small business owner. One measure of integrity and service isn't just saying, "here you go." It is how someone resolves a problem. This is where the word outstanding is well used once again. The refrigerator was not cooling properly, and I alerted the often-mentioned Regine, who truly is a wonderful person. We had an immediate response and remedy. That's good service. It's easy when everything is going well, the true measure of great service is how an issue is handled. I am pleased beyond words, and If I was not, that would be reflected in this review. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, John. He took his time to help me understand what would be beneficial to have a great vacation and told me about local points of interest. My wife and I will book this villa again, and I cannot wait! Do yourself a favor, you probably deserve it. Rent Jodo, have a great time, and have a cocktail for me!

If you are looking for a peaceful secluded escape, then Jodo is the place! Regine, the property manager, was so helpful leading up to and during our stay. She was always available for questions and even met us at the ferry to take us to the property. We stayed in the guesthouse and found it well stocked with everything we would need. We spent every day relaxing by the beach and snorkeling an amazing little reef not far offshore! We did take one day to explore the rest of North and Middle Caicos, but found we were more than happy to get back to "our" beach. Thank you so much for sharing your home and allowing us to enjoy this little piece of paradise!

We spent an enjoyable and relaxing week in the Guesthouse of Jodo (located behind the main house). Our favorite aspect of Jodo is the exquisite location on the pristine beach of Sandy Point; we spent many hours under the large palapa, staring at the turquoise blue sea and watching the incredible sunsets. You can't see the ocean from the guesthouse (with the exception of the view from the loft bedroom and upper balcony), but why spend time inside when you can be right on the water? The shore is a nice combo of ledge rock and sand. The property and shoreline is very private. Do rent a car if you stay here as you'll want to explore North and Middle Caicos. Also be aware that due to its location there are sand fleas (no-see-ums) that are very bothersome if you are susceptible (use baby oil or No No-See-Um, made in Florida). They can come through the screens and so were in the house, too. We did not care for the main floor bedroom; it is air conditioned but did not smell great due to being closed up and, as can happen in any tropical climate, was prone to cockroaches. We also wished that the orientation of the house was facing the ocean and that there were windows on every wall to provide more cross ventilation. Despite these drawbacks, we loved our stay at Jodo and highly recommend it if you want the beauty and tranquility of the TCI.

An incredible beach house
This is an incredible stay on the ocean. Regine was very helpful both before and during our stay. The filtered water at the house makes provisioning and hydrating that much easier. The little reef out front was a fun surprise. This couldn’t have been a more relaxing vacation.

Tranquility
North Caicos is really quiet and when you stay at this property you may go an entire day without seeing anyone except for a fisherman on a boat offshore. No jet skis, no motorboats blaring loud music, nothing but the sound of the ocean and birds. We spent many hours sitting under the large cabana drinking rum cocktails, reading and enjoying the tranquility. Snorkeling was amazing.....and there is actually some live coral just offshore. This is a rather wild island so it does come with some challenges such a bugs and limited provisions, but so worth it!

Can we stay forever?
If you are looking for glitzy nightlife and bro-dude beach watching you should not stay here. If, on the other hand, you want to know what it might feel like to have an island paradise all to yourself I highly recommended you get on the waiting list for Jo Do immediately. Everything written previously about the beauty of this location, the house itself, the responsiveness of the homeowner and the excellence of the property manger is all true. You can trust this listing entirely. The only complaint we had at all was the sand flies - which is not exactly something under anyone's control. Just bring baby oil. Jo Do is perfection.

Felt like our own private tropical island!
We have never had a more truly relaxing vacation than this. We didn’t leave the property except for one rainy day when we drove to Middle Caicos to look around. Everyone from
planning and communication with John and Regine, the taxi drivers, ferry manager, boat captain, Jeep rental, COVID testing for our return trip were wonderful! They took care of us at every point! We had already started planning for the next time we go back! Definitely a hidden gem!

Sandy Point beach is absolutely beautiful. The guest house is very cute and quaint and met all our needs. We were looking for a calming relaxing vacation and Jodo was perfect for us. The water was clear as can be, we snorkeled right there and saw sea turtles and sting rays plus other sea life.

Sandy Point beach is absolutely beautiful. The guest house is very cute and quaint and met all our needs. We were looking for a calming relaxing vacation and Jodo was perfect for us. The water was clear as can be, we snorkeled right there and saw sea turtles and sting rays plus other sea life.

JODO is perfect for a secluded family vacation
My family and I stayed at this property for a week in January. The description of the property is accurate and it exceeded all of our expectations. The private beach is gorgeous, the house is outstanding, and Northern Caicos It’s just a relaxed old-school Caribbean island. That’s just what we needed. Will definitely stay here again.

Peaceful vacation!
We rented this property in January 2020 for 8 nights. The location is fabulous. We felt like the only tourists on the island! Even the "tourist spots" were mostly empty.
The house is great - maybe not as well stocked in the kitchen as some places, but Regine, the property manager, is very responsive to your needs.
The location is really the selling point. Gorgeous sunsets every night. Big beautiful beachfront all to yourselves.
Be aware that you should rent a jeep - the roads to get to sites are rough and rugged! But well worth it. Don't turn back.
You can rent a car at the airport to get to the ferry (and stop to get some groceries at IGA) at a day rate that is often less expensive than a taxi hire. I suggest you go this route if you aren't worried about driving in a strange city (and on the wrong side of the road if you are Canadian or American).
All in all a gorgeous spot, perfect vacation away from other vacationers.
We didn't get to do much snorkeling as the weather was unusually windy. Swimming was still great, but the wind stirred up the bottom so visibility was poor. We did see a ray jump out of the water in front of our beach a few times!
Regine, as mentioned, is responsive and helpful. She meets you at the Ferry so you can follow her to the house.
Make sure you go to My Dee's on Friday night for the BBQ!

Villa is as pretty in person as in the pictures!
JODO is a very beautiful, private property near the ferry in North Caicos. During our stay we only saw one other couple on the beach. We loved being able to explore North and Middle Caicos during the day and return to this beautiful villa at night to watch the most spectacular sunsets.
Regine is the best property manager ever! She made sure we had everything we needed. John, the owner, is responsive and was understanding of our scheduling limits. The people we met on the island were very friendly and helpful. We will always remember our week at this villa!

One word: Serenity
We love traveling during off peak season and just enjoying the quiet gifts that only the beach can bring. Staying at the Jodo house was by far the best experience we've ever had. There's just no describing the short "trip" to the backyard seashore, (meaning steps), and seeing rays, turtles, and odd birds that eat crabs whole! The sunsets are personal as you sit right in the path, again in the tiny distance to your own private beach with a palapa, which we turned into our living room for a week. Regine is always available, even making last minute reservations at the Parrot Key club. The drive to Middle Caicos to see Dragon Cay and the magnificent views defy description. North Caicos is exactly what the doctor ordered and we would recommend this to anyone who relishes tranquility, natural beauty, and pristine beaches and waters. Also, we have been to many Caribbean islands, and this is the least amount of turtle grass, (basically none) which leaves white sandy walks twice a day. Very refreshing. Pick up groceries and some cold I-Soon-Reach, the locally brewed beer, and enjoy the most relaxing break you could ever imagine.

Best Vacation Ever
We only give 5 stars because we can’t give 10. Jodo is truly located in paradise! When our family planned for my daughter’s senior trip for graduation, we were hesitant thinking this could not live up to what we had seen in pictures, heard in reviews and the build up in our minds. It exceeded all expectations. The most perfect, relaxing vacation my family has ever taken.
House – beautiful. Location – John, you are lucky….the most perfect thing we have ever witnessed. John and Regine – accommodating, pleasant and present when or if you need them.
We had a great dinner at Mudjin Bar and Grill on Middle Caicos. The fish and chips and snapper were awesome! The Friday night bbq at My Dee’s is a must also!
Must sees: Mudjin Harbor, Three Mary Cays, Horsestable Beach, Pelican Cay and Bottle Creek.
It is hard to come back to reality when you leave, but we will be back to Jodo as soon as we can. I now know where and how to fish for bonefish as well.

Remote relaxation on North Caicos
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers ages 13 and 16) just returned from a wonderful week at the Jodo guest house. Having been to Provo several times previously, we wanted a more remote experience, away from the development of Grace Bay. Boy did we find that experience on North Caicos! Sandy Point and. Jodo were a great fit for our family. First the pros: The beach and views from the Jodo are spectacular. We spent countless hours swimming and snorkeling offshore, walking the beach, and sitting at the thatch hut. During the whole week, we only saw two other people walk by one time! If you are looking for a beautiful, private beach, this is the spot for you. We saw beautiful fish, crabs, rays, conch, and many beautiful shells along the beach. I highly recommend renting a car. We enjoyed having access to many other sights on and around North and Middle Caicos. The flamingos in the nearby pond are stunning. Mudjin Harbor and Bambarra Beach on Middle Caicos were breathtaking. Regine was very helpful in assisting with necessary arrangements for taxi, ferry, and car rental before arrival. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The reason I have not given 5 stars, however, is because there were a few disappointments when things that had been advertised, such as kayaks and the electric golf cart, were not available when we arrived as apparently these items have been damaged or lost by prior renters. This would have been helpful to know in advance as we were really looking forward to them. Otherwise, the accommodations were very good. The kitchen has the basic necessities and we made all of our meals onsite as most restaurants were closed due to it being off season. The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. One. word of caution about the bugs. We were prepared, having read prior reviews, about the sand fleas/no-seeums; however, at times they were worse than we expected and I wished we had stronger bug repellent. This could have been due to our timing as the island had been having significant rain before we arrived. All in all, in spite of these few issues, we really enjoyed our stay and would come again. If you are looking for a remote and beautiful experience and want to get away from it all, I would recommend a stay at Jodo!

I think we found paradise
We are so happy that we found this bit of paradise before the resorts and subdivisions move in. Perfect weather, privacy, location, wildlife, beach life, bike rides and accommodation. A much needed reminder to slow down and enjoy life each day. We were disappointed to arrive to no kayaks and the loungers need cushions, but every other aspect of Jodo surpassed our expectations. Our 11 days went by much too quickly and we hope to return. We highly recommend Jodo to anyone that wants top notch accommodations away from the hustle and bustle of the typical beach options. From the quick responses to our questions when we were booking until our return home- the Jodo team looked after us.

Paradise Found
We had such a restful and restorative time at JODO. Everything you have read previously is true and more. It is so quiet there, especially at night, where you don't hear any sound except those of nature. No dogs barking, no cars honking or driving by, no people laughing and cavorting. Just stillness. It is wonderful. We stayed in the guest house which was perfectly comfortable and more than enough room for the two of us. It was great to have a bedroom with air conditioning if we needed it (only used it twice) and also have the option of sleeping upstairs with the gorgeous view to wake up to each morning. It is a huge plus that the main house is not rented when the guest house is in use, allowing for complete privacy. The stars at night are amazing and the crystal clear turquoise water is simply astounding. Having Regine available was quite helpful and the fact that a local phone is provided is terrific. Regine helped us arrange for our car through Turquoise Car rental, who were also great to work with. She also gave us a great tip on where to see Flamingos close up and we hit the jackpot! We saw whales off in the distance two mornings and although we got doused with a shower one morning, the rainbow we spotted afterward was beautiful. From JODO, we were able to visit so many wonderful locations. Three Mary's Cay, Whitby Beach, Horsestable Beach, Pumpkin Bluff , Mudjin Harbor, Bambarra Beach...all easy to get to from here - and you positively should go see them. Spectacular. As others have said, it would be a good idea to prepare for no-see-ums, as you might encounter them in various locations especially after a rainstorm. Although restaurant choices are more limited than Provo, we had two wonderful meals at Silver Palm Restaurant and enjoyed talking with Karen, the owner. We also enjoyed our meals at My Dees and Miss B's. I hope we can come back to JODO soon. We have been to Provo twice and spent a day on North Caicos last year, but our week this year at JODO has topped them all. Thanks for sharing this amazing home with us. We loved every minute of it!
