Steps2Summit was the perfect house for our family Christmas! Our family of 7 adults had plenty of space for sleeping and gathering. The game room downstairs was great for entertainment. And it truly is steps to skiing - we were able to walk over and get on the mountain within the hour. We also enjoyed hiking and a dinner out in town. Mary Ellen was so helpful when making the reservation and preparing us for our stay. We hope to return for a future visit!

We stayed here for the weekend with my sisters, their husbands and kids. Ages ranging from 5 months old to 45. Mary’s house is absolutely amazing and perfect for our stay. It is in a great location and the kids had so much fun sledding in the back yard and the hill across the street. The bottom floor has a game room with a pool table and football table. It was perfect for the teenagers to disconnect and play together. The kitchen was fully stocked and the gas grill was perfect for cooking meals. The beds were comfy and the whole house was so cozy. I would not hesitate to stay here again. We look forward to coming back to stay here again.

The house had everything we needed. The location was perfect for walking to Snow Summit and the village (on the trail starting at the condos). Mary Ellen was very helpful and the entire process was easy. We loved the downstairs gameroom!

Our priority is to be able to walk to Snow Summit from where we stay if possible and this home is close to the west end of the Snow Summit parking lot. We also need enough space for our large family of 4 grown kids with spouses and kids. With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and a large game room with a futon, this home is a nice big size. It’s clean and the owner is great to work with. The beds are comfortable. We stayed with our grown kids and their kids (our grandkids), 9 adults, 3 kids 7 and under and 2 babies in pack n plays and there was space for us all. The kitchen is small but efficient and well stocked. Fridge wasn’t big enough for all the food we brought for 4 days so we used our ice chests to store food too. The dining table is nice and big. The home is not recently remodeled but feels very clean and homey and comfortable. It’s a tri level home with the game room a the bottom with the bunk bedroom that is perfect for a family. Kitchen and living room/dining room on the middle floor and 3 bedrooms upstairs along with 2 full bathrooms (1 in the master and 1 in the hall) and the laundry. We had snow so we were able to sled across the street and play in the snow in the backyard. Our kids 1-7 yrs all had a great time in the snow in both these areas. There was a funky smell downstairs (like an animal had died under the house) while we were there but owner tried to help discover the cause and we felt her support to fix it. It didn’t ruin our time and we will def stay at Steps 2 Summit again. Our whole family agreed it was a great rental for our yearly long winter weekend in Big Bear.

Great timing...unbelievable cabin
We just had a fantastic vacation. Cabin holds two families easily. It was immaculately clean, the foosball, pool table and ping pong we going all night. Yes just steps away from Snow Summit, but just as importantly a nice open view from the back and front of cabin - not boxed in at all. And a great bonus...we arrived just after two feet of new snow at Big Bear. Truly great memory for our family.

What a great place to stay. Location was the best. My kids loved the hill across the street for sledding. Cabin was really cozy and comfortable. Cabin pretty much comes with everything you need. Mary Ellen was great to work with. We hope we get the chance to rent this cabin again, I would recommend this property to anyone. Thank you!

This property is fantastic!
We have been eying this property for several years, and could never get it booked for New Years, so this year we made sure to book it way in advance. We are so glad we did as it has plenty of room for my Wife and me, plus our 4 children's families. The kitchen is great in it's size, layout and central location. We could put one family of 5 in the basement and another of 4 in the upstairs with plenty of room for the other 4 adults. The limit is 13 people, but there was plenty of room for more. Slopes were a very short walk away and a great sledding hill is across the street. We highly recommend this location.

Outdoor Central for Summer Fun
The cabin created a comfortable place for outdoor & indoor fun with extended families. The layout, decor, amenities and 4 bedrooms with queen beds was just what was needed. The large dining room table allowed for up to 12 people to join together for a meal or to all work on puzzles! The close proximity to road biking, mountain biking, hiking and kayaking made our visit easier. At night the pool table, foosball or ping-pong tables were fun for all. We definitely hope to return for another stay.

Just Awesome!
We were in town for the Spartan Race and needed a place close to the Start Line, but big enough for us all to enjoy. This was the PERFECT home for us! Each bedroom was big enough for us all to not feel cramped, the two open areas were great to spread out in and not feel like we were all on top of each other. The deck and views were wonderful and the house just had a great energy about it. We were able to walk over to the Start Line, walk back after the race, but still get in and out to town without any traffic or hassle. It was the perfect location and had the perfect amenities for what we needed. We will for sure be staying here again next race! Mary Ellen and Lysa were just a joy to work with, as every question was responded to quickly and all procedures went super smooth. Thank you for allowing us to stay!

This house looks a little dated in the pictures, however it is extremely well kept and clean! There is plenty of room for multiple families. It is literally steps away from Snow Summit. Mary Ellen and Lysa are a pleasure to work with. Very sweet. We definitely want to come back here soon.

Great home for the value!
We have stayed in far fancier houses but this cabin is truly epic. The main floor has an old cottage type feel with beautiful windows in the living room looking out to the forest. We sat by the fire with cocktails taking in the coziness of the setting.
There is a sled hill about 20 steps across from the house. We were not able to use it due to lack of snow but the kids spent all day on the hill playing and exploring all within our sight.
There is a very large backyard with a beautiful view of the mountains off in the distance. The deck off the dining area was very pleasant to have coffee on in the morning to take in the view.
It's a 3 min walk to the slopes! The moms carried cocktails over and enjoyed watching the kids in snowboard class while the dads snowboarded all day.
Will for sure save $$ on food as the cabin is so close to go back and eat at.
The owner is amazing! The cleaning lady amazing! Would recommend for summer mountain biking at Snow Summit or winter play.
The downstairs playroom kept 5 kids busy for 3 days while the adults enjoyed the upstairs.
Kitchen fully stocked. If your a chef bring your own knives but we had pleanty of dishes and cookware.

This property was great for our family!
We had a great time at Steps 2 Summit! It is a large house with space to spread out as well as a large gathering space to eat meals & play games together. The house is in a great location with easy access to the village as well as the grocery stores. We enjoyed our hike to the village via the Town Trail that starts right across the street. If there was one thing that we could have done without it was the speaker playing bird noises every 10 minutes starting at 8:30am, but we figured the sounds of woodpeckers pecking the side of the house may have been worse (only guessing that's what the speaker was for). Other than that, the kitchen was well-stocked with plates, pots, pans, etc..., there were lots of games/activities to keep everyone occupied, and we can't wait to test out all those hills in the snow! You won't be disappointed with this cabin.

FOUR GENERATION BIG BEAR THANKSGIVING
Could have made it 5 generations however my 105 year old Grandmother could not make it! From 2.5 months old to 89. Such a lovely and spacious cabin with all of the amenities and the feel of home. Super super clean and cozy! We only had to bring ourselves and our eats! Played games, enjoyed the nature walks, sat by the fire....all of the wonderful things big families love to do. We will most definitely be back! <3
