WOW! What a beautiful condo property! We have rented condos/houses for several years on our vacations to different states and this one is our favorite ever! The condo was exceptionally clean....everything was freshly painted inside and out. Everything was in great working order, beds were comfortable, windows and patio super clean, furniture in great shape (only thing to note is the ottomans, couch, and cloth seats on dining chairs/stools could use a clean). So nice to have this much space and two bathrooms with two sinks each for our family of 5. The property is very well taken care of - we loved all the pool options! Dukes was great for dinner and also poolside service. Very quick and good food/drinks! Loved having clean towels at the kiosk as needed. Beach is long and clean and beautiful! The view from this specific condo is the star of the vacation! No better view in the place! We could watch the sunset each night and having a pool/ocean view was spectacular!! We opened the doors at one point and when the A/C didn't kick on after, the property manager was so quick to respond and had it back running while we were at dinner. Great service! It was nice to have beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards for use too. Location is perfect for getting to Whalers or Lahaina. Can walk along the boardwalk a long ways and it's very nice and safe. Paradise!!!

Large 2 bdr condo with great view and easy access to parking and ocean as well as pools and restaurant. Limited kitchen utensils. Indoor chairs at table and bar are very uncomfortable. Everything else is in good condition. We will definitely stay here again.

The location of the apartment is perfect- the view over the pool and ocean is spectacular. We loved listening to the music at Dukes in the evening. The apartment suited our family of 5 perfectly. It has chairs etc for use at the beach. Would have liked a few basic kitchen items, like oil, sugar etc. Not an issue though. We loved everything about
our stay and would recommend to others.

The condo was beautiful, so much space and had everything we needed. We sat out on the lanai each morning with our coffee and watched beautiful sunsets each night. We spent time both at the beach and all the pools, and enjoyed Duke’s. Overall we loved our stay here. The only thing I would mention is the beach is much better down by the Sheraton and Kaanapali beach hotel area south of black rock, wider and less rocky. But also a quick distance away.

We have stayed at many different units in Honua Kai throughout the years and have always loved our stay. This unit has the most spectacular view that we have experienced yet, definitely the best part of the whole stay. The unit itself was clean and as billed. Kitchen supplies were pretty decent, although would have appreciated some grilling utensils. The unit was also well stocked with beach chairs, beach toys and a cooler which was super handy. The couch and accent chair in the bedroom could stand to be replaced but the beds were very comfortable.
Honua Kai itself is a fantastic property. My kids love the numerous pools to choose from and we love the onsite restaurant Duke's (arguably the best on the island). Location is fantastic as well. My only complaint this time around was the number of things that were not functioning at any given time during our stay. At one point in time, 4 of the 5 pools were closed for various reasons and several of the hot tubs were not actually hot. Now I will give credit to the maintenance staff as all of these pools were reopened relatively quickly but it was definitely a minor nuissance at times. Also, the elevator closest to the unit was out of order for two of the days during our stay. Overall not a huge problem because I do understand that things break at times and they were back up in working order relatively quickly.
My biggest complaint would be the presence of two large cranes in the courtyard outside our window. While appreciate that the association was working hard on renovations, it was definitely very distracting from the beauty of the property.

We loved our stay in unit #509. It was so bright and spacious! Everything was so clean. We loved the extra beach chairs, sand toys and boogie boards to use. Our favorite was eating dinners on the lanai while watching the sunset. Thank you for having us!

We had a great time staying at the Honua Kai. The unit was perfect for our needs and the view was beyond compare to any other unit. We loved the wrap around patio and all the windows. We would stay here again without hesitation.

This is our second time at the Honua Kai, this year we had two condos (one for us and one for my in laws). The unit was clean, well stocked with everything we needed, and had beach chairs and sand toys, etc. for my kids. The resort as a whole is clean, modern, and the check in and booking process is a breeze. When we parked we had a TON of groceries and the bell desk put all of our stuff on a cart, the groceries in bins, and brought it all up to our unit for us. I plan to return to the same unit next year if it's available! Highly reccomended!

This listing was better than expected. The pictures are very accurate. The view and lanai are absolutely amazing. We already want to come back and stay again. The whole resort was very kid friendly. The pools were fantastic. They were perfect for our 9 year and 12 year old. This is the best VRBO we've rented. The beach walk was another bonus we didn't know about. Duke's is delicious. If you want a dinner reservation, book before you stay, it was hard to get a reservation. We waited until the day we arrived and could only get a late dinner time on our last night. Worth the wait and money. The lanai really does make the whole place. It is a nice unit, but that view and the windows are stunning. Really fantastic grounds, can't wait to come back!!!!

The resort all the amenities that any five star resort would have, great Dukes restaurant, spacious grounds, pools not overly crowded. interior nicely decorated and furnished. the wrap around balcony was my favorite spot. We had a blast! We love Honua Kai so much. The location, the beach, the pools & hot tubs are wonderful. We love Dukes for the food and of course their famous Mai Tai’s. Can’t wait to come back!

Room had great views and plenty of room for a family of 5. Painting and elevator maintenance was a bummer, but only minor inconveniences.

The beds were all comfortable, including the pullout in the couch. The sunset views were beyond expectations. All the pools were great for our different aged kids (10, 8, 2 and 8 mo.). The unit and the whole complex were very clean and well kept. Dukes has much better food than I expected as well. I will definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Maui.

The only downside is the one restaurant there was so busy (COVID-19 impact?) that unless you made reservations months in advance, you will be waiting for hours. Plenty take-out options nearby.

The Perfect Place To Stay!
Condo was wayyy beyond our expectations. The space was clean and so bright and modern-large, spacious rooms. More then enough storage for our clothes. The beds were incredibly comfortable. My son said that even the pullout couch was the comfiest he had ever slept on! The closet was packed with beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and 3 boogie boards for each of my kids- we had everything we needed for a day at the beach. Our kids LOVED the multiple pools and jacuzzi's, the water slide and water fall. The pool area was gorgeous and it was a bonus to have pool service from Dukes. We loved our stay and will absolutely come back for our next visit to Maui

This condo was just perfect for our family of 5. Everything was comfortable and we had everything we needed which included daily whale watching from the balcony. Our kids were close to the pools and the beach which made coming and going so easy. Can’t wait to come back.

We went during covid and didn't have any problems regarding that. The resort was very quiet after 10pm. Chairs at the pool were easy to get too. This unit was the first one to get new door locks on the day we arrived. (so no wrist band, just a code entered at the door). All was fine until day 5 when our code no longer worked to unlock or lock the door. I called the rental company and they were on it immediately. Called me back within 5 mins and had new codes changed and life went on like normal. I was extremely pleased how quickly it was taken care of. Also during that call they questioned if we needed anything else to make our stay more comfortable and we needed absolutely nothing more as they had already gone above and beyond. In the room was everything we could have ever needed.... boogie boards, extra pillows and blankets, pack and play, high chair, cooler and ice packs, umbrellas and chairs, towels (can also use your band to get towels at the pool, I also did this for our shower towels so I didn't have to wash as much)Overall, When we come back to Maui, booking this place will be our frist step to our next vacation!!

Honua Kai never disappoints!
Such a great stay. We search other properties but keep coming back to Honua Kai. Had a great wrap around lanai in stack 9 this trip. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The entire complex was still pretty deserted when we arrived, only one day after the mandatory 14 day Covid quarantine rules were changed. So nice to have the pool to ourselves a few times. Definitely got busier as our stay went on and by the time we left, 9 days later, the complex was hopping again. Still no Dukes or Spa, but that’s ok, plenty of pool and beach. Loved the new Garden Villas, they were under construction on our last trip, along with the Westin next door. Nice to have no construction this trip. Garden Villas are beautiful, walked through to check out the pools and setting.
