The view is one of the best in Homer and because it is the Old East End Road there is VERY little traffic. The yard is huge and beautiful, front and back porches for diff
erent times of the day, one of them with a great grill. The house is so well equipped and the beds extremely comfortable. Every bedroom has a bath to go with it. When I vacation I spend time in the kitchen and really appreciated all the space and kitchen wares. I would go back again, no question

This is hands down the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed at! Kathy & Rich were awesome to deal with!!! The view is absolutely stunning! Will definitely stay here again if we ever go back to Homer! Saw cow/ calf moose and bear from the cabin!! Easy access from the highway!

We enjoyed our stay at Fitz Creek. The house was in a perfect location just a short distance from Homer. The view was incredible! Our host Katherine was amazing and very helpful. She met us when we arrived and gave us great information about the area.

The Aurora Jewel was absolutely great. The home is large and spacious with one of the best views in the Homer area. The house is just spectacular. The surrounding lawn and outside area are large and very well maintained. The hosts, Kathy and Rich, are very welcoming and will provide area information that you will be interested checking out. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely book this home again when in Homer, Alaska.

This home was spectacular! The big windows gave stunning views of the mountains, glaciers and bay! Very well stocked and clean. Comfy beds and everything you could ask for. The hosts were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed!

This VRBO house is amazing! The views from the picture windows were breathtakingly beautiful. We could even see the spit with their telescope. We had a nice visit with the home owners, Kath and Rich, and they gave us good advice of places to visit and eat. The drive to the spit was apx 20 minutes. It was nice to return to this quiet area up in the hills after a busy day at the spit. We spotted an Eagle in a nearby tree and had a moose visit the yard in the evenings. It was very convenient having a bathroom in each of the rooms. There was plenty of space for 3 couples, we especially liked the large kitchen table to sit around when we made some meals at the house. Even though it was July, the wood burning fire place was well used to warm up by after a long day of fishing. I highly recommend staying at this home near Homer!

This was a property in a rural community with an incredible view of mountains, glaciers and Kachemak Bay. We loved the coziness of the home with the wonderful fireplace and unlimited firewood, that we used a lot. Well stocked kitchen and very comfortable beds made it a great stay for our family group of grandma & grandpa, mom & dad and 3 teen-aged kids. The main floor bedroom was a bonus for grandma & grandpa.
The hosts were incredibly helpful & available. Would definitely stay there again.

This home is beautiful and extremely well stocked! Especially appreciated the availability of firewood. The home is very well furnished and has plenty of additional items such as extra towels and linens. There was an issue with not being able to use the only bathtub in the home and the downstairs shower leaked or some how left water on the floor. This was immediately cleaned up with the extra towels available. We especially enjoyed the brochures and games available for our use! Would definitely stay in this home again!

The owners clearly take pride in the property. They attended to every detail and stopped by in case we had any questions. They provided great information about local activities and even had a fire ready to go in the double-sided fireplace. The house takes advantage of the spectacular Katchemak Bay views from every room. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. Located 15-20 minutes from the spit in Homer. We have stayed in many VRBOs around the world and this one is at the very top of our list!

Beautiful, peaceful home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Kathy and Rich’s lovely home. It is very comfortable and very relaxing, with a spectacular view of the mountains from up high. We saw a bear walk on the road in front of the house and a bald eagle fly right through the front yard. We used the home as a homebase for our adventures in the Homer area, including bear viewing, halibut fishing and an epic hike in Kachemak State Park. Kathy and Rich made it a point to come over to meet us which was a pleasure.

Great place to stay
Kathy and Rich are very nice hosts and responded to our requests very fast. The house is beautiful and have large space to fit 8 people. The view is astonishing. This is the best stay during our 2 weeks in Alaska. Highly recommended.

Majestic View
Pics don’t do the view justice. Unique floor plan with wall of windows to panoramic view. There are four full size bedrooms. New large capacity washer and dryer to manage larger party needs. Home is well appointed, very well maintained and clean. Fire pit was great fun with the grandson.
Quiet location and easy drive to Homer.
We really enjoyed meeting our hosts, who were very helpful and accommodating. We’ll definitely re-book when we return. Highly recommend.

DON'T HESITATE!!!
This place is absolutely amazing!!! The views are stunning and the best in all of our travels throughout Alaska. The house has literally everything that one could need. There is tons of space and the front windows provide mountain and ocean views everywhere you look. Waking up and taking in that view directly from the bed will spoil you in a hurry!!! It only takes 15-20 minutes to get into Homer. We love this area and plan on returning. This is the house that we will return to without question!
Kath and Richard stopped by early on and answered all of our questions. They are such sweet people and it was a pleasure to meet them! I was also able to message them and get recommendations and such. Don't hesitate to book this property. The front deck and fire pit are waiting for you!

Amazing Stay!!
We had a great stay at the Aurora Jewel!! The views are absolutely stunning and we had everything we needed for our party of 5. The table was perfect for playing games while enjoying the long days and gorgeous views. The beds were so comfortable!
We saw a moose on several occasions and a pheasant (I believe it was). It was a perfect location to enjoy Homer during day and family time at night.
The hosts are wonderful and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and we felt very welcomed.
We will always look to stay at the Aurora Jewel when in Homer!

2 families (4 adults, 4 kids) had a great time together. We got to enjoy the amazing views, relaxing living area, and the fire pit.

Check in was easy, owner answered any questions we had, enough room for the 8 of us traveling together. Wish we had more than one night to explore the area more. My only complaint would be we thought the hot tub was a private one to just our cabin and not the rest of the rentals, definitely a minor concern and maybe I missed that in the description. Would definitely stay again.

Exceptionally set up, clean, comfy, excellent Alaska-themed interior decoration. Plenty of room, beds were comfy and accommodating (the three of us were high school basketball teammates from the late 60’s ranging in height from 6’2 to 6’6”). And the views of Kachemak Bay were awesome. Host was attentive and responsive but not meddling or interfering. We all enjoyed our stay and since I’m from Alaska, I’m sure to request their services in the future.
