Ubicado en Smith Mountain Lake, esta encantador casa rural por 176 € por noche es una estupendo opción para su próxima viaje. Esta cabaña es un tesoro familiar. Construido como la cabaña de vacaciones original en Island Lane, camino creado por mi papá (profesor retirado de UVA) hace cuarenta y tantos años. Excelente ubicación en Smith Mountain Lake. Justo en el canal principal adyacente al marcador de lago R-8 donde se encuentran los ríos Roanoke y Blackwater. La vista expansiva del lago con exquisitas puestas de sol son suyas para tomar. Mire el lago desde cualquier dirección de la ventana, mire hacia el lago desde la cubierta (como en un bote, y podría salir al agua) y solo unos pocos pasos más abajo lo llevarán a un muelle privado estacionario, donde se pueden estacionar los botes. I come to SML every year for a fall retreat, and this was by far the best place I've stayed! Beautiful, quiet, peaceful location - amazing lake views from the cabin. The cabin is cozy and charming. I enjoyed every second! Perfect spot for a rest from city-life!

Our stay was more than expected! Loved the house and the view! We had everything we needed right in one place! Our kids loved the paddle boards and the deck access. The only con we experienced was that the deck need some attention. The boards on the side where we docked our boat are starting to coming off. It would also be nice if it was a covered deck. We didn’t mind it but compared to the other decks on the lake, it could use a little upgrade. We still had a great experience. We will for sure be back! LOVED the location. The trees make the property feel so private. This was our first time staying at Smith Mountain and we couldn’t have had a better vacation. Also, the plates in the cabinet are NOT microwave safe. I noticed some places on them and looked on the back and I’m glad I did. It really was a great rental though. The sunsets were amazing! Thanks for allowing us to spend the week.

The house is in such a wonderful location! We rented a boat and were able to pull in and out with ease. The neighborhood is beautiful, and neighbors are friendly. Even though it's a more "rustic" house it still had everything we need including a washer and dryer, which is a must for us. :)

Came to a wedding at the marina. Found this small cottage and enjoyed it very much! It has a wonderful view from the deck where we enjoyed our meals . Plan to visit again for sure.

Had a great time. Smooth rental process and experience. Property could use a little upgrading particularly the deck and stairway down to the water. Sulfur smell to the household water was the biggest issue and would be the only thing keeping us from renting here again.. Overall happy about our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time there because of the fantastic westerly views and fairly quiet location on the lake. The canoe was unusable but the kayaks and paddleboard were a blast to use. The dock is decent sized and afforded us easy access to the water. The cabin was furnished with the basics...no frills. This is a RUSTIC cabin in dire need of a deep cleaning and minor repairs. The screens on the windows were damaged and bugs routinely snuck in at night. The air conditioner in the downstairs bedroom had broken knobs and was very loud but we tuckered ourselves out so much during the day that we were able to sleep through it. Word to the wise, bring your own potable water...not a knock on the cabin, just reality of using odd tasting well water.
I would stay there again but I'd be better prepared.

Perfect birthday getaway
This rustic cottage offers spectacular views. The private dock is perfect for fishing or just hanging out. Communication with the owner was fantastic. We'll be back.

Beautiful location had so much fun my grandkids had never seen deer before so they couldn't get enough of them 😀 the water was perfect the paddle board was a big hit

Great location to see sunrise coming up over the mountain while walking on road and gorgeous sunsets viewed from back of house. Great size of house for a family of four. Bring drinking water if you aren’t used to the smell of the water in this area. We had a great time and would stay here again. We enjoyed the provided kayak and paddle board.

While this information is provided in the rental agreement, it is hidden way at the bottom of the last page and is not noted anywhere in the actual Vrbo site. After a discussion with the owner she agreed it needed to be more obvious. The owner offered to let us use her personal linens but we decided we would manage without. That was our only issue (other than the water smell but that has been noted by many others). We just bought water and were fine.
