The cottage was very nice. Very clean, well kept, modern, comfortable. Better stocked kitchen and bathroom than probably any Vrbo we have rented. Really appreciated not having to bring toilet paper, paper towels, and basic things like salt and pepper. Access to the lake is fantastic! We caught plenty of fish and loved having such easy boat access with the dock right there. We also appreciated not having a long list of chores to complete before we left.
The only real con to the property for us was the proximity to neighbors and the smallness of the yard as well as the parking situation. The yard looks bigger in the pictures than it actually is, and the neighbors are nice but very close. (We listened to the neighbor cut down tree stumps with a chain saw right outside the bedroom window for 2 days.) The parking situation was also a little cramped. It’s a shared driveway with the neighbor, and we were blocked in and had to ask them to move once.

This property has everything you could need! We enjoyed our weekend and hope to return during the summer when we can take full advantage of water and activities the area has to offer.

We have stayed in many rentals….none as well stocked as Bayou Bungalow. We try to leave a rental better than we found it … but there was nothing extra we could have done or stocked. Great stay. We would return!

Our family absolutely loved our stay at the cabin on the lake. We were able to catch many fish right from the dock. The water on Hamlin lake was very rough during our stay so we used our kayaks on the bayou and it was perfect. The cabin was fully stocked with EVERYTHING and was very clean. The neighbors are very nice too. We will definitely be back soon!

This house was perfect for 2 couples & 2 kids. I have never rented a house as well stocked as this one. Full kitchen, linens, week supply of paper products, cleaning supplies, trash bags, and even firewood. We really only needed clothes, swimsuits, and boating/fishing gear. Location on middle bayou is great. We will definitely come back to this property the next time we’re in Ludington!!

We absolutely LOVE our time here! We are repeat vacationers to this location. Owner is amazing, neighbors are amazing, location is amazing. It is such a treat to be able to fish right off the dock! We will be back again for sure!

This is the best cabin I ever stayed at this place has a great spirit in it feels like home the moment you walk in so clean so peaceful everything you need this place has it all little things you forget to bring this place has it everyone in the neighborhood was so helpful and nice so close to the water I stayed at a lot of cabins but the is the best because the owner is so thoughtful in every way that's why this place has a great spirit!

Cute house in a quiet neighborhood and on a serene section of Hamlin Lake with beautiful views. The house had everything we needed. The owners communicated very promptly and were helpful with answers to my questions. Ludington is a great vacation location!

This is our 2nd visit to this wonderful cottage on the lake. The owners really go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. We stay at a lot of VRBO’s around the country and this is the most well stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen. They even added an air fryer which we loved when we reheated our left-over fried walleye dinner.

We’ve stayed at a handful of VRBO’s and all have been nice, but this place had a little bit extra. The place was very clean and updated. It had plenty of outside seating. The little extras make a difference: new, soft towels, beach towels, condiments, coffee and tea, spices for cooking, air fryer and more. Its close enough to town to be convenient but not too close. Really my only complaint is the lake had a recent algae bloom that made it kind of dirty and difficult to fish, but the owners cant control that. Its great for a small family.

Ludington
Our family has been going to Ludington for over 60 years so obviously we love it there. First time staying off the main lake but enjoyed it. Wonderful place to tie up our pontoon boat.

The photos match reality. We are familiar with the Ludington area and this property was well-situated for all planned activities and interests. It's close to downtown, the state park, as well our own family activities. We enjoyed our mornings sitting on the dock with coffee by the water side. We even had the opportunity to see an eagle snatch a fish from the bayou! We kayaked the bayou with ease and headed to Hamlin Lake on a quiet day. The property was clean and well-stocked with all necessities. We had a fire several nights outside and saw the stars! The neighbors were very friendly and engaging. We hope to come back and stay and the Bayou Bungalow in the future.

We will be back
This was the perfect escape for us. Being right on a quite lake to relax and unwind was great. With a bigger beach and lake 10 minutes down the road. The place was so clean and had more than most when it comes to supplies. It seemed small but we had more than enough room for our family of 4, 14 and 9 year old. We absolutely fell in love with the area and are already talking about coming back. Make sure you go to House of Flavors for ice cream, AMAZING!

Fabulous Cabin on Bayou
We've stayed at a couple of VRBO's and this one by far was the best! Not only was it clean, the condition, great layout with cathedral ceiling in living room made it feel even bigger. Loved that it had a full size washer/dryer, own dock, waffle maker and everything you would need including shampoo's, soap, etc. All you really need are your clothes! We will be back! Thank you!

Ludington has several excellent restaurants, Table 14, House of Flavors, Timbers, and Scotties were favorites. We had an excellent day with Capain Mike from Fish n Tales charters catching 8 salmon! There is so much to do in the area. The cottage is close to it all. Unfortunately, we had to leave 2 days early due to a family emergency, otherwise it was just the vacation we needed. Thank you Laura! We are looking forward to coming back!

Property was perfect and clean!! All you need to bring are clothes, toothbrush, and food! Perfect size for 4 women and so much to do in the area!! Would not hesitate to rent again!!
